    2 problems in Christian dating that I am glad that you talked about
    1. Christians date to date and there's no intention / vision for why we are dating
    2. Christians put an incredible pressure around dating that hurts future relationships before they have even started

    Dude in the olive shirt, he is deep. “What’s next” comment said was truly profound. It’s as if we are turning our lives into a works based system as well. Rushing into the next thing, like the world tends to continue in tradition rather than moving forward in transition. More support is definitely what we need to enjoy the season that we’re in.

    The first thing I’d do when meeting someone I’m interested in is asking them “is Jesus Christ Lord?” Because scripture says only the Holy Spirit can give the revelation that He is Lord. And that would be the first of many questions over months if not a year or so of friendship

      Ask them if Jesus is God in the flesh. Then you will know if they are of God.

    Best love is sacrifice. If I could look you in the eye and think, “if it really came down to it, I’d die for you.” Well there you go. People who don’t love you are not gonna die for you. Some of them won’t even give you their fries. Try a whole body. Try a life.
    I know this is quite dark and severe, but love suffers too. Beautiful things are not only beautiful because of joy. They are beautiful because they remain after tragedy.

      Why would we need to die for others when Christ has already carried that burden?

    • @starwilson9839
      @starwilson9839 6 місяців тому +1

      @@rosemah i mean that we know we truly love someone when we would die for them. I mean if it really came down to it. Jesus died for all of us. What I’m saying is, would you take the bullet for a family member or friend if someone held a gun merely to preserve there life. True love comes from a place of sacrifice, and you’re right! Jesus was the prime example of this!

    True, dating wasnt really mentioned in the bible firstly because God was after marriage (union of husband and wife) not necessarily dating (being boyfriend and girlfriend) and also because dating wasn't a Jewish practice, betrothals were more common. There are guidlenes though in the bible on what qualities to look out for in whoever you're dating keeping in mind that the goal is marriage and dating is to screen out potential candidates.

      Betrothal wasn't just a Jewish practice. It was a human practice right up until the Catholic church required people to wait to make their marriage vows on their wedding day. God describes His relationship with Israel as a betrothal. A small movement in America has gone back to practicing biblical betrothal and we've found it's a very beneficial path and paints the picture of Christ and His church!

    Relationship and marriage are both quite messy. Being honest, saying sorry often and being committed to each other are priorities. Dating is working out whether you can do that with that person.

    Show me one couple in the bible who "dated." There aren't any so where's your guidance on that. Dating is a function of a society which has grown interconnected enough that you're not stuck with the 14 women in your village, half of whom were related to you. (Just ask the Amish....ahem). I guess "god" wasn't able to forecast that about human societies.

      I don’t even think it’s that! I think Christians want to “date” because they want to either “try before they buy”, lust or they do not want to commit fully to the other person. There was no “dating” in the bible because if you were interested in the opposite sex, you had to be intentional in a courtship. This meant getting to know someone as a friend and continuously submitting your feelings onto God and spiritual leadership. Dating is a very worldly principle especially when God is not at the centre of the relationship. If you are really perusing God you wouldn’t entertain dating without any intention to marry. The bible says He who finds a WIFE finds a good thing. Not a girlfriend or a one night stand or whatever else society thinks is appropriate😂
