- This is the Coach Rogue bag, in original natural leather. I stumbled upon this leather bag while visiting the Coach flagship store in NYC. I was surprised to see it was on sale for only $450, since it was selling for ~$900 originally.
While this was a ready-made bag, I was surprised to see the level of customization Coach offered for the Rogue. You can experience the different leather options, handles, linings to add an extra personal touch to your Rogue bag.
I liked how this customization was available to anyone, without having to jump through hoops or play games.
As usual, a quality hardware and construction experience from Coach. This natural leather was excellent, and will appeal to fans of minimal finishes (but there's plenty to choose from in Glovetanned and Regenerative leather options as well).

I’d love to see you deconstruct a vintage bag from these companies to see how the change of quality has occurred over the years. Because I have an older coach bag (80s?) and the leather on it feels substantially higher in quality and thickness than the current collections.
You are correct. The older Coach bags were substantially better quality.
I have one in my family from 80s or 90s- that thing can withstand some beating and still looks awesome.
I have one from the mid 80's as well and it's still going strong.

I found a calfskin classic Chanel bag at a thrift store.
I don't care how much they mark it it as a top tier leather... the leather is extremely thin, and it wears out incredibly fast.
@@curlyhairdudeify ok, so firstly, if you found an older Chanel bag at a thrift store it may very likely be a replica. Do get it authenticated because mine belonged to my mother and is super resistant and thick and have lasted over 20 years and it's got real gold plating! However, the newer bags they're coming out with now are rather disappointing.
Same here. I lost my confidence in buying LV after they messed up the bag I sent for repair.
It’s apples and oranges. I wouldn’t expect beautifully crafted silk suit to be as durable as a denim suit. Some Chanel bags are more durable than others (for example, lamb skin is definitely more delicate than caviar. Classics are often more durable than trendy.) I have a few that I’ve been using for years and they still look great, though I have to admit my beige lamb skin double flap which I rarely use needs a bit of a cleaning. I love Coach and still have a couple that I used in college over 30 years ago.
@@m.theresa1385 I compared chanel with chanel. The new chanel quality is awful. I have old and new one, and it’s a huge difference in the quality department, and with the price increases only dummy will buy their bags.
Coach is definitely one of the best stuff I own. So value for money.

Honestly, as someone who has restored vintage coach bags, I can tell you that the PU creeds might be for the best… the best way to restore an older coach bag involves dunking it in water, which makes the creed harder and harder to read every time.
I have a 20 year old Coach bag (well used) in excellent condition. I LOVE it even after all this time!
This is why I gladly spend $500+ on Coach any day.

I have a customized Rogue, and it was $700 I think, and a pair of sneakers (and a couple of card cases). Honestly I love them, the bag it’s one of my most loved purses and would not change a thing about it. And Coach SA’s are amazing, their professionalism and attention are exceptional. I know they’re not Hermes, but I would not go to a store where I need to prove that I’m worth buying there. Or that I’m some sort of special being just because I have a bag, my little Rogue exists because of me lol and that’s enough. I wear my sneakers pretty much everyday and they’re worth it.

I found a BRAND NEW rogue at a second hand shop w the tissue and plastic wrap still on the brass pieces for $99. Better bet I SNAPPED that baby up quickly!!

I grow up with a leatherworker, my dad. Seeing this channel reminds me of those days, and when i am going to buy a bag for my girl, i know what will be worth it and will last.
I don’t understand why people don’t like coach, since they hired a new designer or whatever, their bags are super cute! Even coach outlet. Way better than Michael Kors in my opinion.
I worked for Coach, selling in their stores. The quality now is nothing like what it used to be. I find it depressing to go into the stores now.
I can recognise an old beat-up Coach with no label at 10 yards because of the quality of the leather. Once you removed the logo the ‘modern’ Coach is indistinguishable from other bags

The craftsmanship, as you said, is very good. I'm very impressed with all the details, and signs of effort that show in closer inspections.

So worth it at $450, but not at $900. Meaning, Coach probably always intended to sell this bag for $450, and the "regular" $900 price is fake.
The regular price is not fake. I have four Rogues and they were all over $900.
As a man, I bought the Coach weekender bag in black coated canvas with leather trimmings.
I love it.
The bag is heavy duty, and lined. The bag can stand up by itself.
Previous to that, I bought a Louis Vuitton coated canvas traditional gym bag... whatever the name is.
The vachetta was garbage, the canvas had a glued on fabric on the beck, the bag wasn't even lined, the bag would collapse on its own, and it needed a constant pillow inside of if it to keep its shape.... I'm so glad I got rid of it.
Do a Coach review on the vintage pieces from prior to 2000 , the ones without linings.

Been through several of these videos. If you only talk about the leather, labor and hardware costs, that is missing a lot of the other business costs associated with the normal functioning of a traditional retail environment. Must consider the big picture.
