I remember when I first heard this. I had stayed up all night during the Summer after high school, and the local station WBCN at that time would play any thing ,especially at 5:30 AM, early 70's. but I happened to be taping w/ an old tape recorder .the DJ described the cover and everything. he refers to it tho, as 'confessions of a Cocaine freak'.over 40 yrs ago, and I'm re-united w/ Abner Jay. I read an interview where he played flea mkts. and such, made good money (&1,200.00 a weekend.) he said that most of the world's songs are no more than 3 chords. and I've been playing them ever since. I even considered being a street musician myself after reading that. 'Guitar Player' I think. Buddy Holly's on the front w/ his black Strat.from the 80's.
Tony, I’m listening to this for the first time right now………. on WCBN (greatest music station on earth!!!) I came here looking for the same version I’m hearing, to send to my beloved friend & great singer + bass player Melanie I haven’t even listened to this vid yet because I was waiting for it to finish on the radio first and the first thing I see is your CBN comment! Recently Melanie & I decided we’ll go down to the station for one of the Sunday DJ training slots and do our own shows!
PS: we’ve been fans of cbn since the mid 80’s and have known a lot of the dj’s over time, mostly from them being fellow yellow cab drivers with us back then, where everybody was hip to the station and often in bands themselves, and where I first got turned on and tuned in to the great treasure that radio station is!
@@tomdickandharry7024 a wild guess here. Micheal Parry I think, was the DJ. I even remember him saying ''it appears to be magic marker where the lettering is. he's trying to drink some of this Suwanee water." my Dad was telling me to get a job!.
I love this song ❤😢
