Cutting out past Pokemon from the games was most likely due to incentivize more Pokemon Home subscriptions. They think they squeeze every last penny from the consumers by making them store their mons in this lackluster app instead of just storing all of them in the actual games, which is pretty scummy if you ask me. You're single out people who's favorites are cut in a game all about options and community. Even if they can't have every mon in the games at launch, they have proven to be able to put them back in via dlc updates. The problem is that they never follow through all the way, only bringing back around 200 or so mons.
Something very controversial, yet true - the big move reset in Gen 9's HOME was necessary for the balance of competitive play. I can't imagine how nuts things would be without it.
Overworld Ability effects are fun. This is sort of controversial to only people defending SV scrapping them. The OAEs are a fun feature so that the Pokémon can do more than just battling like helping you encounter different wild Pokémon.
Dexit would have been accepted if there were the promised benefits of "high-quality animations" or more polished competitive experiences, Sword and Shield are not known for either of those claims.
1. Two versions are a scam indeed, can't deny that. Although this can be fixed by giving the version exclusive mons especially the Legendary pokemon(which are only limited to 1 per save file) via Mystery gifts. I doubt GF/TPC will ever fix it. No wonder VGC is in a chaos & genning/hacked mons have been thriving since ages 2. Charizard? Well it's a fan-fav mon just like loads of the others out there --Gardevoir,Gengar, Slowpoke,Magikarp,Lucario,Meowth,Eevee,Mewtwo,Greninja. . Ppl are just blind to see the love these are getting & only blame Charizard that's all 3. U should have included the forced Exp share & forced Battle Style:Switch mode. The worst crimes committed by GF in the Switch era
I do think with Charizard it's simply marketing. It's easily marketable so it's everywhere - can't blame them for doing so in my opinion because it's easy money! EXP share is an interesting one - I know many who are fan and many who aren't. I think it comes down too being able to turn it off in terms of the solution to it
@@rivalryyyy The same thing applies to the other fan fav Pokémon as well. But ppl only throw a fit over Charizard bcoz they are blind to see the love other fan fav mons have got till now. Also the Exp share & Battle Style should have a toggle. It's a basic 1996 feature. There's no reason why u shouldn't have it to turn it on/off
Pokémon Violet/Scarlet are bad Pokémon games because they took a core mechanic, battling trainers, made it optional, and failed to replace it, which is why playing the game multiple times feel like a checklist
sorry to burst your bubble, but people have been wanting optional trainer battles for years. that doesn't stop it from being a core mechanic, but now people can battle trainers if and when they want to instead of having to take crazy routes to try and skip a battle because their team just happens to be running out of hp and/or pp. if that's your reason for s/v being "bad", then you have a very skewed and shallow mindset of what makes a game good. calling a game "bad" is a broad term and assumes that there is a majority of negatives that outweigh any good points. scarlet and violet aren't "bad" games because there are plenty of positives that revolutionized the playstyle. optional trainer battles make sense in a fully open region where you can go anywhere, anytime.
@@penguinmaster7you didn't burst my bubble because it's MY opinion. Two making trainer battles optional removes most of the game progression, which is why it feels like a checklist. Three everything that Scarlet/Violet brought has not only been done by other games, but also was poorly implemented. I don't give games passes because they tried something new
Dexit was not necessary. As far as "Gotta catch 'em all" being a western only marketing thing ask yourself why did Oak give you a starter in the first game?
Want to know my opinion, I’m tired of the complaining about pokemon games, you’re allowed to want something, but Scarlet and Violet was everything I wanted in a pokemon game, and people want to take away that from me, they want “different” but the moment we get something different, they’ll complain, people also tell GF to take their time, but from us waiting for Metroid to come out, people will complain about it taking too long
Pokemon deserves to be ran on a powerful console. Not the bullshit nintendo keeps putting out. For some reason they are constantly putting out mobile consoles and i feel that is part of the problem when it comes to running something like pokemon, which requires a lot of random generation to produce the world we walk through. Sword and shield ran fine but their pokemon were not generated the sameway as they are in scarlet and violet or legends arceus. In the more recent games the overworld is basically the same as the battles so you can see shinies in the overworld. This is proof enough of this. Yeah better coding could solve this issue probably but better hardware definitely would solve the issue.
i feel like the poor performance comes from one thing: the ocean. look at the shesez video of scarlet and violet, and the ocean is WAY larger than necessary, and every single bit of it is being rendered at all times because it isn't subject to the draw distance that the rest of the game's visuals are. because it's water that constantly waves and ripples, that's going to suck away performance.
@penguinmaster7 this is a common thing used in a lot of video games. I don't believe that that is the true cause of performance issues. This doesn't hurt but if the common technique of having the world be built on a base of water is causing issues for a multimillion dollar company then they definitely need to invest in a better system. That's basic level coding going into these games.
Thanks for watching everyone - So I have to ask, what's your most controversial Pokemon opinion?
Gen 6 was one of the better generations
Gen 6 is a top 3 generation
AAAB where the second A stands for "anti BBNDer"
The first opinion are people who belive lugia is far more not lazier than say zacian , which is very ironic

2D anime graphics can theoretically save memory size to allow memory space for the extra features like the National Pokédex.
This is true!

My hot take is that I want the next gen game to only consist of pokemon from that new region like B&W did

Competitive experience was good
Competitive players do consider gen8 to be good and move animations were pretty good
Megas didnt help any pokemon at all
Who is gonna use mega beedrill over mega lucario or tyranitar huh
Hmmm - maybe the solution is to have Megas solely for Pokémon that need it instead of like Salamance for example?
