My mothers is on a decommissioned barge fitted for a boathouse. Many are floating homes(fixed). Ours was towed there. It functions like a RV, we have a black tank :/ there are pros and cons to the life. - lake union westlake Ave marina resident
They obviously restrict the number of house boats in town in order to artificially boost property values. "With the tech moving in, the prices just started going up and up." Said as though the person witnessed a natural phenomenon, and not a market that was deliberately manipulated.

I went to philippines and i saw floating homes (illegal squatting) like it's so dirty and rubbish are everywhere on waters. Gross.
