I love this guy. When I saw this, I wasn't sure if he was baked out of his mind or just Finnish.

He's so unbelievably calm. I remember watching him get interviewed before they faced Sweden at the semis in the WJC. When the reporter asked about him, he just grinned at the camera and went "Oh no, we're not afraid of those guys."

+Rauta Arska Who gives a fuck what the "experts" say? Look at the past draft orders and tell me they have their fucking head screwed on right. Outside the top three picks they know fuck all about talent. They go on hype and sometimes get it right.
All fucking around aside I say this is the true top 5:
      1. Matthews- He is the clear #1. His work ethic is insane and his drive is at Toews level. Combine his crazy work ethic with his natural ability and this guy will, IMO,be better than McDavid if coached correctly and guess who coaches him? Babcock so he's probably on path to super stardom.
      2. Laine- Will be #2 and deserves to be. He has a scary shot and is a natural goal scorer. Work ethic is questioned because he's so laid back but his size makes up for his lack of skating. He reminds me of Sundin with Kessel's shot.
      3. Puljujärvi- Big, strong and an awesome play maker.I don't think he's anywhere near his peak ability which is scary. They will ask him to use his size more in NHL but I think under the correct S and C coach this guy will be a monster. Moves crazy good for a guy his size.
4.Dubois- Probably the dark horse of this draft. Great two way player and can play center well or wing. Big guy who can skate and has crazy speed and athleticism. He's the type of player that makes goalies miserable. In any other era would be #2. But in this pussy era he'll go fourth.
      5. Tkachuk - "They" are saying he will go fourth and to Oilers ( poor guy). Like Dubois he will suffer under the new pussy NHL but he's an agitator who knows how to score and plays nasty

Tällasia tyyppejä suomen jääkiekko tarvitsee. Verratkaa tota äijää vanhempaan sukupolveen. Minä siinä on ero? Itsevarmuus.

Mikä on sinun salaisuutesi?
Laine: No on siitä muutama vuosi.
Sinulle draftista tulee varmasti hieno kokemus, kiitokset tästä!
    Laine: Joo kiitos.

This guy will be great for Winnipeg. I am a leafs fan and I would be happy with with Laine or Matthews . Not to mention Laine is cool as a cucumber , but at the same time freaks me out because I swear I saw him in Die Hard and those guys didnt mess around. Anyways congrats Winnipeg I don't think the leafs will pass on the Center they have been coveted since Mats. Good Luck

So I have heard, but He will play and get drafted second most likely. In the end nobody know what the future will hold for any of theses draft picks. I will be honest as a leaf fan I am most excited for Mitch Marner. By The way you are speaking about Laine right? Because matthews can skate. I think a lot of people like(Laine) because of his shot and the fact that the Finns are cousins of Canadian hockey (hard hitting tough style) intrigues many. Again, nobody knows how it will all pan out.

    • @sherlyteegs3068
      @sherlyteegs3068 8 років тому

+222Miller I am speaking of Laine. Auston is NHL ready and he's apretty good skater for his size. Don't be too sure Laine goes second. There is a lot of hype surrounding the Europeans. I don't why since they were ranked lower a few months ago. Dubois, Tkachuk, and Chychrun will be better long term investments.

I think who the Leafs pick should ultimately depend on Stamkos. Leafs management will know if they will land Stamkos by the draft. If they know they will get Stamkos, I think they should draft Laine.
Matthews is a fantastic player, but when you get away from the Sexy name (Auston Matthews), North American Boy vs Finn, the fact that he's been the consensus #1 for a very long time, & just watch the highlights of the two with an unbiased eye. Laine is the superior prospect & the better talent. He's UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
World class sniper at 18. Underrated playmaker. Rare size/speed/talent combo. He looks like the Finnish love child of Malkin & Ovechkin.
We can't pass on Laine if we know we got Stammer. I'm not trying to rustle feathers, just my opinion.

It's a weird thing how Laine and Puljujärvi are clearly above other players when we are compering their skills and potential. Matthews comes third but still he is supposed to be the first drafted player. Pulju and Laine have had a great season and I really hope they will get competitive teams. PS. Laine and Pulju are so typical finnish boys. No stress and dare to be themselves, even though there would be live broadcast.

    • @fckth3systm

+Tero Savikuja Matthews is top pick because he is a Center and it is considered a more valuable position to draft.

+fckth3systm No. He's top pick because he's the best player in this draft. This is a talent heavy draft my friend.Don't fooled. It's as good, if not deeper, than last year.

      @SavikujaTero 8 років тому +1

+Sherly Teegs Matthews is not even close to Pulju or Laine. If you watched the wc-games you did see that. Matthews is of course a greatplayer , but he is not a player who can win games by himself like superstars Pulju and Laine can.

+Tero Savikuja And now would u take those Finnish glasses of for second ? Matthews is great player no doubt about that and yes i watched a junior world cups were Matthews get 11 points in 7 games. Its not more than Pulju and Laine had but we still have to remember Finland was clearly a best team in whole tournament and Usa was shit. Its hard to get points as center if u have shit wingers with you. And Matthews get 46 points in 36 games in regular season when Laine get "only" 33 in 46 games and Pulju get 28 points in 50 games so Matthews is the only one who has point per game. I bet only games what you watched about Matthews was the wc games :D When Winnipeg get 2 pick in the first round Winnipeg News put Patrik Laine on the front cover but not Matthews, why?

Sadly, this is very telling interview. Laine is not even taking the interview seriously, and does not even bother dressing or leaning up to look professional. The sad thing is that Laine had the talent of Ovechkin, but did not have the drive to become the NHL's best sniper. After performing well in his first two seasons, his head grew too big, and he stopped training at an NHL level, spending hours on video games instead of working on his game. Nearly 5 years later, it's become clear that he was shielded by the offensive depth in Winnipeg. This became clear when he was traded to Columbus, which exposed his inadequacies.

I think Toronto is going to pick Laine at 1 OVR, what would they do with Matthews when they have Nylander and Marner, but also Kadri locked up at 6 years. Toronto needs a sniper of Laine's calibre, and i know they have Kapanen already.

+Mano Saarinen English is not his native language. He has to find the right words and that's why it takes a time. And on the contrary, Finns are more open-minded than other nationalities. Finns are not so religious and equality between men and women has a long roots. Finns have learned to think purely and those are the reason why they are so relax and speak more. In US people are abstainded. When they ask "How do you do?" They are expecting for answer only "Fine, thanks". But Finns like to really answer and have a conversation. That scares US citizens. You can also compere interviews between Laine and Matthews. Matthews was like a typical US and was so conservative and answering only the typical lines. Laine... He was just chilling and answering what he really had in his mind. And the gap is even bigger between females. Foreign women claiming it so difficult to live in Finland because finnish women are so much more open minded.

Tero Savikuja Mitä mies sä oot oikein ottanut, etkö huomannu mun sukunimestä, että oon itekki suomalainen? xD Mähän alotin tuon viestin, että "We Finnish", painosanalla We :P Mutta sulla on kyl pointtia tuos viestissäs.

Pohjoismaalaiset on small talkin mestareita. No joo, toisaalta monet ulkkikset pitää suomalaisia tuttavallisuuden puolesta jopa röyhkeinä.

Tero Savikuja Pakkohan se on uskoa, jos sulla on kokemusta ulkomailla asumisesta. Olin saanu ihan erilaisen käsityksen ulkomaalaisten sosiaalisuudesta.
