    Does no one else find it strange that it was pretty much as soon as he moved here (if not before) that he began to decline as a vaulter?

      @@Falconjt179 he declined it due to injuries, remember before this he won a World Championship taking only two jumps because of injuries!

    Wow this is great. Track and field is the most under appreciated sport out there. It's great that red bull is giving it some attention. Track runners don't do it casually like people playing basketball or golf. Track is a passion that you must make part of your life to be successful in.

    look at the red bull sign on the left that is lined up at 2:02, you can see that its about halfway between the 5.75 and 6m increments, meaning it was roughly a 5.85m jump. Insane.

  • @MichaelMaira1
    @MichaelMaira1 12 років тому

    For everyone saying it was a 7m jump, look closely. There are two sets of standards which have labels on the front and back. The pit he's jumping into is set at 5.95 but the standard is out of focus. If you look closely you can see that the left standard is the closer one in the pit he's jumping into, the right standard is for the one behind it.

    Cool to see RedBull pumping money into a variety of sports. Personally I'm a big fan of the arguably more adrenaline-pumping stuff, but nice to see RedBull enhancing all sorts of sports and athlete's training.

    Its crazy how training facilities have changed. I learned how to vault on a cinder runway! I wish I could have 2 weeks in the facility. Would be the time of my life!

    now red bull just needs to tell him to jump on carbons again so that beast facility will actually turn some results

    Not trolling on the original comment but some people just dont get it man, you are running full sprint and then almost completely stopping all forward motion, its a different kind of adrenaline

  • @hannisw
    @hannisw 12 років тому

    agreed! - hence the "arguably more" bit of my comment. Some of Red Bull's videos include stuff which I'd personally say is MORE adrenaline-pumping. I couldn't come close to doing this but I'm sure it'd get my adrenaline flowing if I tried.

    Does anyone know the height of that final jump? I'm assuming the Red Bull signs on the side are showing the height in meters, but it obviously isn't lined up correctly from that camera angle.

  • @erichunter9341
    @erichunter9341 12 років тому

    Not sure the height exactly, but it looked as if it was a 4left approach. And ive seen hooker go 5.61m from a 4left. So im sure it was close to that height, if not a few centimeters higher. (5.61 = about 18'5" btw)
