Also, teach your toddler cool mountain biking slang (gnar, chunk, roost, etc) and teach them to warn hikers that you're coming up behind them. The slang is just fun, and hikers are much more likely to give you a smile instead of an annoyed look when your toddler says "coming up on your left".
I take my daughter on bike rides since she was 15 months old. The shotgun seems like a great product. I made something similar, but way worse, out of wood and it works perfectly.
If the bike with the air tag would actually get stolen, it wouldn't only use bluetooth and UWB like it did in the video. It would use the iPhones of people that walk around it to get the general location, bluetooth and UWB are for when you are close. So if the person who stole it would have an iPhone, they would actually help you find it 😂
@@jimmy8x541 That depends, if it's someone who "makes a living" from stealing bikes then maybe yeah, but if it's some random hobo or a crackhead, I think there is a good chance they never heard of them.
Love my Kids Ride Shotgun. Gave my son and I some really great memories during quarantine last summer. I eventually started loading his balance bike on my back and we did some long bike rides. He even did 25 miles on a rail trail path one day. Great product.
The shotgun is excellent. My 3/4 year old loves it… it is super comfy and allows her to ‘steer’ and even stand up. It fits my fs and bike easily and is super secure… top product
I don’t think Seth did a fair/good review on this product. I have a buddy who also uses one for his kid and it’s great. Seeing them trying to put 2 adults on a bike was entertaining but not the intended use either.
@@WilliamrikerNCC1701 I agree. Seth has massive influence and when he reviews a product, he needs to be careful when portraying negativity...even if it was tongue in cheek. If the negativity is taken seriously (which from my experience is easily done), then it can be detrimental to the brand.
My shotgun seat has survived two kids and they (and I) have loved it. So much better than I kid riding behind where I can’t see them. Also makes an outing more exciting for them. They can see. They can “steer.” Convinced my 3yo was riding without wheels at 3 because she spent a year on the shotgun seat first.
I used the Kids Ride Shotgun on Ridgel6in Dupont with my 4 year old and a Trek Roscoe....she had a blast and I was totally comfortable with it...rode it 4 times in a row with my wife shuttling us to the top... totally worth it
Yeah, they're really nifty. We use them at work to track if the stuff we send to other departments arrive at the right place and if we don't get it back, we can see where it is and tell them to send it back. Always had a signal.
Shotgun seat works great for kids. It made getting out easier because my wife was more likely to say yes if I took the kid. It makes for a good workout with the additional weight, but the extra weight does affect the suspension
As someone who recently invested in a similar (yet not exactly the same model of) electric bike pump I really like it, especially for people in the city or who park their bike outside. It even works on motorcycles and scooters, and they work well. Car tires might be a little big for best results and could potentially burn out the motor, but honestly being able to leave it for like a minute and a half per tire and have it auto shut off pretty much makes up for the slightly longer inflation time compared to a floor pump. Plus it may be kind of a moot point considering the bike specific application, but for someone with specific strength issues that prevent them from using a floor pump they are fairly easy to use. A final thought comes from one of your later videos Seth, where you use this pump for your shocks. That’s what I sort of see this as, a replacement to one of those handheld portable pumps that you either use for your shocks, or you carry with you for your rides in case of emergency. It fills that role really well and saves you from a lot of the awkward pain that comes from using a manual pump that size.
I've actually been using a tubeless Schrader valve from stan no tubes on my wheels for the last 3 years. And I only had one clogging incident that was totally my fault. It is so much better than presta valves! I don't see why anyone would prefer prestas over Schraders...(Just had enlarge the hole a little). Note: I live in Vancouver. So if it works on the north shore trails no one has any excuse not to use it if they can.
Presta sucks but you could spend $50 for the new Reserve Filmore Valves which are a redesigned presta but why bother? Instead, just enlarge the hole a little and convert to schrader, most excellent.
I don't understand, at least in Portugal the Schraders are just the most common ones, we have really good trails too, and they handle it fine, I have a feeling that a presta would just break off
@@jtfa28 they do! Or get jammed and you end up accidentally removing the core and emptying your tire! The presta valve was made for road wheels that have to be narrow and aerodynamic. There is no reason to spec it on a mtb wheel other than public perception that good bikes come with presta valves...
My experience with schrader valves is that are harder to put air faster (unless you take out the core), other than that they are eternal and easier to clean.
@@ManuelMartinez09I always removed the core from the presta valves for inflating tubeless tires for the first time too so, to me, presta had zero advantages. I used to carry a plier with me so i could open my tire valve in case that threaded top on the presta got stuck! That design suck and should be relegated to narrow aero wheels like it was designed for!
The Shotgun Seat is the bomb. My 2 year old LOVED it this summer. Even held up for a ride with my 6 year old who didn't feel like riding himself one day.
Honestly... it never fails to amaze me how Seth's videos improve every time. This is some serious dedication and commitment on show, great job Seth! (I am one of those guys who don't ride padded shorts -switched a long time ago and never looked back lol-)
The game changer for my saddle soreness was upgrading to larger pedals. The stock ones on my Norco were tiny and the new largers pedals helped with weight distribution.
The newer SPD style pedals are getting smaller (Customers demand weight-saving items...plus less metal used so less expensive to manufacture)...but they hurt the bottom of my feet due to less area to distribute my weight. My old pair...more than 8 years old are a bit wider and longer...so more comfy fir my soles.
no, not really. Some other UA-camr tested it already and with alu around it, the signal by fare not as strong anymore. So the location is ideal, but I don´t know how durrable it would be

Yeah, Seth can be pretty brutal. His review can make or brake a product. Takes guts to send your in. But hey - if he likes it, it is sold out on Amazon in under 24 hours.
My kid loves the shot gun. He has so much fun in it with me. It helps him learn to ride and makes him want to ride himself. Some of the best bonding time there is. If you have a little one it’s a must have for Mtb.
That battery powered pump actually looks pretty awesome for my use. I'm disabled and inflating tires is a legitimately difficult job. That said I'd not think the time taken is too important for anyone, just stick it in and come back after a coffee or something. It takes a behaviour change but it looks like an actually useful product.
100% my 65yo dad would love that battery powered pump. He has the ability to pump his road bike tires manually but he is ALL ABOUT having machines do the work for him. It wouldn’t matter if it took 10 minutes to fill, he’d set the pump up and call a buddy on the phone.
Child seats: top tube seats are pretty common in China when I was a child. Obviously those are mounted on commuter bikes. It's a lot less scarier than sitting on the luggage rack in the back. Love it how it's almost a novelty in the US.
Dude you will loooovvvvee the shotgun seat for you and your kid! It has been so much fun ripping around with my daughter! She loves it too! She always says let’s go in the woods!!
Seth! The kids ride shotgun is amazing! I used it for both my boys and it honestly made me so extremely happy being able to take them out riding with me. The real issue was that because the handle bars are made from aluminium, it was easy to over tighten the screws and strip the thread. Please save this for when your daughter is big enough to hold on. ** I don’t work for this company, nor am I sponsored by them **
I quite like the Schrader valve idea. I've converted plenty of retro 26" rims to tubeless without any problems but they were always double wall and using 26" tubeless tyres. I feel like you could've given the product a better chance if you used a proper double wall rim and tubeless compatible tyres. And don't cut the valve hole with a knife.
Didn't the product say, "Make any rim tubeless"? Doesn't a tubeless setup require TUBELESS tires? How about the same test with a tubeless ready tire? BTW, love love the idea of Schraeder tubeless stem. Most Bikes, Car tires, Trailer tires, etc., have Schraeder valves. Presta are pain with my air compressor and other Schreader valve products. Didn't you mean to say that on .00001% of the people use Presta valve stems?
That kid shotgun seat is the best. It puts your kid in the ride, not passed out behind you. It sets them up to want to ride. It’s by far an amazing product
About the saddle cover: Last summer I did an 11 day bikepacking trip, no padded shorts, and nearly zero saddle pain. Spending some time and money to get what fits you (in my case a Brooks Cambium C17) is totally worth it
I love my stem captain. Especially nice in the winter to check if I'm late for work. No Stopping, pulling off mitts, pulling out a phone, checking the time then reversing to get riding again.
The Bandits are awesome. I've been using them for about a year now while trail building and testing on my bike and they have held up nicely. Very comfortable, stylish and achieves it main goal, it keeps shit out of your shoes. Also, i haven't gotten poison ivy on my ankles, feet or legs either... Extreme plus!
For the ghetto conversion stretch an inner tube around the rim and cut it open, now install the tire like normal. The inner tube builds up the rim (just like a bunch of tape) and creates a perfect seal once the tire is installed. I used a 16 inch inner tube on a 20 inch BMX rim to convert to tubeless, it worked like a charm.
I think the hate comes from people that think bikes below 4 thousand dollars are garbage. Idk how poligon would do vs a YT or low-end specialized bike tho... Edit: I don't care that it is spelled Polygon, I like how I spelled it the first time better.
Bad quality control, The home brand front wheel on the polygon I own has the left and right side spokes on the wrong sides making it dished 20mm to the right.
I run stans shreader valves on all my bikes. The kids ride shotgun pro saddle is awesome. It mounts only to the seatpost and steerer. My 2 year son loves it, it allows me to ride a fair range of single-track without feeling out of whack and he gets the same view as me.
The problem with the airtag on the bike is that the thief will get a notification that there's an airtag if they have an iPhone, it's an anti stalking measure
Likely they just ditch the bike and you can go recover it. Or waste a bunch of time trying to remove the tag. I’d use it in the city if I didn’t keep my bike in my apartment.
Stem captain is a good idea, but it's phased out as soon as you think of wrist watches. Pretty sure they even make watches with metal grates on the watch face so the glass won't break in a crash.
When I was worried about tan lines and still needing to be home before dark while staying away from home while on my BMX bike... I wrapped my wrist watch around my frame pad. (I used to race) Liked having the pads even off the track. I WISH I would have thought of the stem captain! Good idea!
Shotgun seat is the best thing I've bought for my bike, my 3yo loves goikg out for rides and after a couple he's able to handle all day epics on it and doesn't complain
Agreed on saddle cover. Did not agree on the reason. Having tried multiple saddles I came to conclusion that shape of saddle is what matters most. Flat saddles are the best for me. Wider, but curved downwards on the sides are super painful, no matter how much you ride (sorry, Seth, imagine you sit on a pipe). And cover does not change the curvature, thus no effect.
Unpopulated opinion : I love Schrader valves, because when going to get groceries, I don't necessarily have a pump on me, and if I'm a bit flat I can just go by the compressor at the gas station
The Mac Ride child seat is awesome. My kids have loved it. I think it’s better than the Shotgun because the kids weight is supported by the stem and seat post not my carbon top tube.

Yes... Yes those bandit straps will wear out... The rougher the surface, the faster. It appears to just be an elastic strap... Easy to sew a replacement, or for those without crafting skills, the motorcycle industry has straps with clips at both ends (and usually some form of motorcycle culture related bling over the clips). When the bandit straps wear out, you can pick up a set of those at most any motorcycle shop, especially if they are focused on v-twin cruisers (such as Harley). Last time I got a pair, they where about $10 a pair. They are intended to keep your pants leg down when you have your feet out in the wind on a motorcycle, but SHOULD work fine as a replacement strap on the Bandits as well.

Also, teach your toddler cool mountain biking slang (gnar, chunk, roost, etc) and teach them to warn hikers that you're coming up behind them. The slang is just fun, and hikers are much more likely to give you a smile instead of an annoyed look when your toddler says "coming up on your left".
The Shotgun seat, my kid loves it.
Well do a mini sesh around the neighborhood hitting curbs and mini drops. Wheelies/manuals. Thing shreds!
So if the person who stole it would have an iPhone, they would actually help you find it 😂
But would also get notified about the airtag after a while and it wouldn't take them long to find it. A simple plastic cover would do wonders!
@@armadillito also rip out the speaker coil so it won't start beeping to show them where it is.
I feel like every bike thief probably knows about air tags these days and the first thing they'd do after they stole it is search the bike for it.
@@jimmy8x541 That depends, if it's someone who "makes a living" from stealing bikes then maybe yeah, but if it's some random hobo or a crackhead, I think there is a good chance they never heard of them.
@@jimmy8x541 I wouldn't be surprised, but I still have a Tile pro (android here) hidden on my bike just in case.
Thanks John, awesome to hear your daughter is loving it!
I love the real reviews, no holds bar. No wasted money on weird products. You ain’t no sell out
So you’ve finally discovered gaiters. Also, the strap on the bottom of your foot fits on your instep, so less wear.
Yeah, also there are elastic gaiters without straps that function quite fine also.
@@SantosAl True that
My reaction too,,,,,So you're telling me the guy
"invented" gaiters.
I used the Kids Ride Shotgun on Ridgel6in Dupont with my 4 year old and a Trek Roscoe....she had a blast and I was totally comfortable with it...rode it 4 times in a row with my wife shuttling us to the top... totally worth it
Air tags can be tracked anywhere they are near ANY Apple device. Great little idea.
Yeah, they're really nifty.
We use them at work to track if the stuff we send to other departments arrive at the right place and if we don't get it back, we can see where it is and tell them to send it back.
Always had a signal.
Apple is trash. Just like Amazon.
@@RealMTBAddict Just like most of the companies out there, google isn't any better, facebook either.... doesn't make the Air tag any less useful.
@@RealMTBAddict I bet you shop at Walmart.

Shotgun seat works great for kids. It made getting out easier because my wife was more likely to say yes if I took the kid. It makes for a good workout with the additional weight, but the extra weight does affect the suspension
The shotgun seat for kids thingy is actually awesome a friend of mine takes his kid for small rides all the time and they both love it
get the kid a bike ....
Stem Captain should have a compass option. Also would've thought there would be a cover for the Air Tag.
It actually does, I went straight to their website from this video. Also a thermometer
Note:
I live in Vancouver.
The airtracker thing would be better attached to the inside of a seatpost
no, not really. Some other UA-camr tested it already and with alu around it, the signal by fare not as strong anymore. So the location is ideal, but I don´t know how durrable it would be
a plastic cup to make it invisible would do good
Just use a lock and braincells.
I love my Stem Captain: no need to stop to check phone time and always is a great conversation starter. I run it on my belt-drive, Singlespeed Bamboo hardtail Gravel Bike.
The captain cap is really cool and fun! Totally getting it for a buddy.
Honest review of the Shotgun seat haha, honestly though its a great product my 2-3 year old daughter loved it and now loves riding her bike, its a great way to get them little ones into riding!!
Never thought I would see someone get so excited about a set screw. Yet, here we are.
Shotgun seat is amazing! I always use it all the time. My daughter absolutely loves coming out riding with me! I also got the shotgun handle bars so she doesn't mess with my handle bars!
Stoked to hear you guys are enjoying riding together!
Hope y’all have a fantastic day and keep it up Seth
Just got the shotgun seat. It’s a great product. Very well made and my 2 year old loves it. I’d highly recommend it
Oscar is a real trail dog. Holding the line after Drama ! :) Great stuff
Unfortunately, that's not really true. A good trail dog doesn't bite at your feet while you're pedaling and run in front of the bike.
He dodges the jumps…
I actually have the shotgun seat and my son absolutely loves it!! It makes riding so much more enjoyable for him being in front.
They should integrate a compass into the Stem Captain, if they don't already.
The name would also make a lot more sense.
They sure do.
you can use an analogue watch as a compass, look it up!
The shotgun seat is great my 3 year old loves riding on it. We ride green and blue trails with it all the time. Never had a problem with this product.
Honestly I might get one to add to my every day carry kit for my car, same idea of just set and forget while you go do something else
100% my 65yo dad would love that battery powered pump. He has the ability to pump his road bike tires manually but he is ALL ABOUT having machines do the work for him. It wouldn’t matter if it took 10 minutes to fill, he’d set the pump up and call a buddy on the phone.
Still waiting for thumb bucket! It’s gonna be awesome!
Child seats: top tube seats are pretty common in China when I was a child. Obviously those are mounted on commuter bikes. It's a lot less scarier than sitting on the luggage rack in the back. Love it how it's almost a novelty in the US.
2:40 The dog chasing him down the hill just warms my heart
O ring goes on the inside, not the outside. It looks like it would work if properly assembled.
And don't cut the valve hole with a knife.
and if he had put a washer or two between the O-ring and the nut he might have achieved a tight seal
Stan's makes one too.
That kid shotgun seat is the best. It puts your kid in the ride, not passed out behind you. It sets them up to want to ride. It’s by far an amazing product
When is phill gonna come for a visit? It would be sick to watch him ride the new features!
About the saddle cover: Last summer I did an 11 day bikepacking trip, no padded shorts, and nearly zero saddle pain. Spending some time and money to get what fits you (in my case a Brooks Cambium C17) is totally worth it
I dont like how much i like that stem captin....
I would rock it. The looks alone are a great ice breaker for new people looking to make new buddies.
Seth whats your thoughts on polygon seeing it gets so much hate?
polygon is decent, don't see it getting any hate here in singapore
@@MatTancock same
get popular fast and the hate will come even faster!
Stem Captain clock is the best. I have been using it for 3 years already on my Rocky Mountain Altitude and everyone just loves it.
In europe most people fill up their tyres at gas stations as air is free. So that Shraeder valve is pretty handy tbh
Shotgun seat is the best thing that ever happen to me, besides actually having a kid to put on it...
Call me when they make a rocket launcher.
Lol why didn't he mention that?
They make GPS trackers for bikes.
Likely they just ditch the bike and you can go recover it. Or waste a bunch of time trying to remove the tag. I’d use it in the city if I didn’t keep my bike in my apartment.
Yes, review the saddle cover! Appreciate that you think of your viewers, not assuming we don't want to see it, and asking the question.

I have the shotgun and my 2 yo loves it. That Muul pump looks like it can save the day!
"You could set the pump, then just walk away" hmmmm, that never ended badly for you
Set the pressure, not the pump.
Stem captain is a good idea, but it's phased out as soon as you think of wrist watches. Pretty sure they even make watches with metal grates on the watch face so the glass won't break in a crash.
Hey Seth! We would love to send you something more interesting to test and review :) Please reach out!
OOOOO yes please! Make this happen
When I was worried about tan lines and still needing to be home before dark while staying away from home while on my BMX bike... I wrapped my wrist watch around my frame pad. (I used to race) Liked having the pads even off the track.
I WISH I would have thought of the stem captain! Good idea!

OH WOW I HOPE YOUR LIFE IS COMPLETE. CONGRATS SUCH A GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENT LYING IN BED WAITING.
"It's... Disgusting!" 😂
I thought that was hilarious. Then I saw the outtakes and that made it so much funnier 🤣
I'm running tubeless for months now, with a car valve 😁 costs 0.5$ and works great!
I have seen that stem captain used on the the end of the control stick on a kitfox Mk5 ultralight. Very clean and very useful on a plane.
I’M IMPRESSED WITH YOUR LITTLE DOG!!!!
Hi Seth,
thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with all of us. You explain very well all topics. You are funny and you seam to be a great guy. Thank you very much..
I PERSONALLY love the "car plug valve"
you know why? so i can pump my bike up at any gas station and dont need to pump with my own strengh
Shrader valve solution: put a small coupler between the rubber gasket and thumb nut. Taking that spade up should help create a better seal.
How can ya not like this guy and his channel......its impossible! Gr8 content too!!!
It's been a while since you uploaded a video. I waited a long time.
I was a little worried when the two of us rode the bike, but the bike is sturdy. That's great.👍👍👍

What’s the tool called? You were using to scrape the dirt when you were building and maintaining the track
My go to video for a great laugh! You and Kevin.....Priceless!!
