I'm a coward when it comes to putting dark colours straight on😂. I always put it on a bit lighter then build up but you just put it straight on o.o really brave.
with oils I’ve found it’s actually easier to work from dark to light :) usually you can’t put dark colours on top of lighter ones without it looking muddy

What did you use to smooth out the oil paint? Everytime I try to oil paint, the paint are always kinda thick
