- Watch Brad, product expert from Williams-Sonoma, demonstrate the steps on how to make espresso with the nespresso pixie espresso machine. A hot cup of espresso is just the right drink when you have company after a long day or when it's wet outside.
The Nespresso Pixie is an ultra-compact espresso machine for making the perfect shot of espresso in a matter of seconds. This slim, super compact machine is great for small spaces, apartments, and desks. The coffee maker comes with a 24 ounce water tank so you don't need to keep refilling the tank to make multiple cups of espresso. The machine has a tray in front that takes in the extra drops of espresso coffee overflow. The tray can also be flipped up if you need to use extra long cups.
The machine has two buttons on top to customize the size of the drink. The buttons can be re-programmed to offer different sizes. The espresso machine shuts off after 9 minutes of inactivity, which makes it great for saving energy.
To make a shot of espresso, just raise the handle, drop the capsule in, and close. Place your coffee cup beneath the spout, and press the desired size button. With these easy steps on how to make espresso with the nespresso pixie espresso machine, you have hot, steaming coffee ready in seconds!

This is my 2nd Keurig coffee maker of this model. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf The first worked fine for more than 2 years, and I could still get a decent cup of coffee out of it if I fiddled with it when I decided to replace it. The problem I had with my first unit was this: When attempting to brew a cup of coffee, the unit would either keep brewing until the coffee was undrinkable or it would not run long enough and the coffee produced was way too strong. I cleaned the unit as best I could but it did not help. So in the end it was just too much trouble to get a good cup of coffee out of it, so I decided to replace it with a new one, which has been working great since I unpacked it.
I just got mine and I absolutely love it. I had 2 big cups out of it and it’s bloody beautiful to have
Thank You, Brad! Bought this machine about 10 years ago and have not used it much, but enjoy it when I do. I needed this video as a refresher on how to properly use it! I didn't know about the programming feature! Starbucks is now making capsules for the nespresso. I am now enjoying the Columbia flavor. I recommend this Starbuck's capsule. Brad, you are a good communicator. Thank You, again!
Starbucks coffee is average at best. Nespresso recommends using only Nespresso capsules, no 3rd party ones they can cause issues with the machine.
My machine is coming tomorrow! I'm so happy :)
How’s it holding up after a decade?
Majority of the hotels and hostels now have nespresso machines. A big upgrade from coffee maker and fancier.
Great tutorial! Thank you!
Thanks for this! At a Airbnb today and had no idea how the machine worked 😂
We visited my friends in Italy. I think we broke it
Great video way better than the factory one!:)
Hey guys, he is brewing this cup of espresso WAYYYY to small. He's wasting a lot of espresso. There are other video's that show a regular size of espresso. Just thought I would mention that to anyone wanting to buy this machine, which I own, and I do love it.
The Pixie is on my birthday wish list. We'll see...
You should mention that Nespresso provides free postage-paid shipping bags to recycle used pods. Great feature!
Scott Lechert they’re not free
Zoe Zurbo yes they are
Thanks I was in a hotel and had never used an nespresso machine before. I was about to give up and go to Starbucks when I found your video.
@deadpigproductions You have a lot to learn about Nespresso ,This coffee has its bitter but not like every other coffee.
Normal Espresso coffee is indeed bitter and sometimes it needs a bit of sugar.
The Nespresso coffee is a lot tender in flavor and almost bitter sweet in taste like chocolat.
Bit of help needed. I recently purchased a Nespresso Pixie and all was well until a few days ago. I usually drink Lungos and they used to take 45 seconds to brew and they were lovely. Now they are taking only 30 seconds to brew and as a result are very watery and not very nice. It is filling to the same level in my Nespresso Lungo Glass but just getting there a lot quicker. Any ideas? Thanks in advance
I just got one of these..my question is, does the machine not dispose water without a pod? I know keurig does. I dont have any pods at the moment. Machine turns on, makes a noise when I press the button
Can you tell me what size of capsule to buy? I just order the Nespresso vertuoline espresso . Then I saw your video. Your capsule were smaller a
Looks like he made a ristretto as opposed to an espresso, but you can set the machine to provide however much water content you want with your coffee.
Great video.
Isn't an espresso shot supposed to be higher caffeine content? I want to be able to make a double shot of espresso for the caffeine content. Can that be achieved with this machine?
You should have shown how to remove the pod. I can't figure it out. I went into the garage and got a blowtorch and sledgehammer.... that pod is coming out one way or the other.
Michael Buonaiuto I think he did.
That is a huge!!!!!! Problem
nutters!
i like nespresso coffee
Has anyone else had the issue of your machine brewing water a few times before actually brewing the pod? I put the pod in correctly so idk if there is something else that I’m doing wrong?
Nice Nice Very Nice
@deadpigproductions What do you expect from pre ground coffee ? Pre ground starts to get not so good in 1 day and nasty within 2 days and roasted beans are only good for making espresso within 10-14 days so please use fresh roasted coffee beans and high quality grinder.
Where can we get fresh roasted coffee beans?
The capsules are pretty expensive and if you brew a cup that small as in the video it would be cheaper to buy a cup of coffee from starbucks.
Anyway I got a great deal on one of these so I ordered one for €20. Well it is worth a try for the small price.
Do you buy special pods for the longo shot?
Yes, that's correct - Nespresso carries capsules specifically for the lungo shot.
Wow,good
I need one this year
Is that all you're meant to have? Just a shot?
I look at their pictures on the site, and you see a full cup of coffee. They sell coffee cups which contain far more than a shot. Whenever I buy a coffee at a cafe, I'm not paying a few bucks for just a sip of coffee... I want a full cup. What am I meant to do, add more hot water, or add milk?
just press teh button while it's brewing to make the perfect amount for you
Mine just drips out. But when i run just water through it, that pours out. I have to have gotten a dodgy machine.
@toxensinmyeye Not completely true. You can make good espresso at home with a $150 Presso and a $100 hand grinder.
I'm drinking a latte right now.
Boom.
Are you still drinking your latte after a decade?😅
@toxensinmyeye I didn't say anything bad about WS, I was knocking Nespresso.
It’s ALL about the crema
Apparently people don't want real espressos since these things are getting popular. They even serve it at Michelin Starred restaurants like The Fat Duck in England. Crazy.
We call regular drip coffee "coffee," espresso refers to a different thing, the stuff made at high pressure, low-quantity.
my machine came with a manual.. but none of it is in English.. thats why I`m here.
Your Nespresso machine just add trash because of its disposable plastic capsules.
jjalandoon they are recyclable
That's not a real espresso
Why do yanks call it espresso? Just call it coffee
AussieBattler we already have coffee. This is espresso
But it isn't espresso by any real standards.
Espresso is made at a high pressure and is quality over quantity
That crema looks disgusting.
No thank you!!!
