hey quick question, is there any soirce you got this information from or was it from the commentators. Questioning if f1 esports puts out any useful information at all to the viewers.

Is has been like this for the past 2 years tbh, I just stopped watching it all together, inbetween the state of the game, and dumb decisions (He was just 100% honest and direct) I don't understand how eSports is still a thing in this game.

Yep, the idea of a vsc isn't perse a bad idea but pitting during a vsc shouldn't be allowed to avoid these situations.

This situation is wrong they should of pulled Red Flag and yes game has Red Flag system. They should of all started from starting grid again with new strategies instead of stupid VSC which is known for not working properly.

This game's engine is not fit for eSports level. There's just too many bugs
It's not really fit for multiplayer either. You can't join other players or servers, you only join session fragments which constantly expire yet stay in the game browser. Joining an old session often leaves the game in a broken state that will crash if you do anything but restart the entire program. Same design, same softlocks across multiple iterations of the game. F1 games are just broken.

If someone disconnects like a single player it should not cause a vsc and ruin other people’s races in the process, it’s very ridiculous, you’d rather have 1 person affected rather than multiple no? The driver who reconnected never recovered anyways 😂
Lets clarify why VSC is terrible in F1 esport no matter what.
Lets asume noone has already pitted and everyone is on the same strategy, so no advantage from this. Even then often Teammates are within maybe even 0.5s to one another. This means in a double stack you will lose time. Lets assume you only lose 2s from it. The gaps in F1 esports are often very low.
We can for example look at races we had on that day, most drivers are ~0.25s behind one another. This means you lose 4-8 positions, depending how many people behind you have to double stack as well. A guy in p2 could drop for example to p9.
By forcing people to pit on these laps because of the VSC any strategy options are of course destroyed as well.
If you went mediums early and have to go to hards at lap 4/25 you will benefit massively compared to someone who started on the hards and now has to do 20 laps on mediums.
So yeah it just makes zero sense because there aint a driver on the track or any debris. You dont have to recover any cars. There is no good reason for a VSC and it destroys the whole race.

Opmere is simply the only driver in the grid who has enough balls to call this shit out because everyone else is scared of having consequences or maybe they are a bit more timid as character.
A vsc would be fine if you're not allowed to pit during a vsc so no-one would get an advantage or disadvantage from it.
@@SnakezF1 A slight advantage could arise anyway. I am pretty sure it decreases tyre wear to drive under VSC (obviously does so in real life) so it could help someone going for a medium-soft strategy to make it work, while benefitting someone with a hard-soft strategy less.

LAN racing should solve it, and building in a feature to recover the race is rather trivial; I'm a software engineer myself (worked for several of the big names out there) and it would be easy to just keep snapshots of everybody per lap. Make it a fixed location: a rewind to a previous lap; play 10 seconds of your actions during that lap at the exact same point for everyone where they were at that point; consider it a rolling re-start.
The person who disconnected and caused the restart would then lose DRS for 1 full lap, or get a 5s penalty if not enough laps remain.
Someone disconnects (on a LAN? lol) - fine, reconnect that person and restart from the previous lap's snapshot. Same person disconnects again? Disqualify that driver.
Disqualifying someone because the events rig and/or the game are shit is such a bad way to handle it.

For them to say EA f1 games are sims is a hilarious, almost all the actual racing sims have better F1 mods than the official F1 games. The only thing the official games have over these mods is presentation.
If they really wanted an F1 simulator, we'd have an F1 simulation game, which would not be developed by EA. Instead, we get yearly releases with different skins and altered UIs.
EA is the publisher, Codemasters are still the same old devs. EA just give them directions and targets (albeit not good ones) But hey ho, as you said, if they wanted a sim by now we'd have one. Money talks

The deployment of the VSC, and length of time the VSC is deployed, is entirely at Administrations discretion and is dependent on several factors including (but not limited to) how quickly a disconnect is reported to Administration, how the disconnect occurred, whether or not the Driver has retired from the Race, how many times the Driver has disconnected during the respective Session, and if the game permits the driver to reconnect to the Session.

I disagree, because the VSC didn’t do shit to save Lucas‘ race. And it won’t do shit to save any other driver either, because it will either be called too late and everyone overtakes the AI, or the AI does a pitstop like in Lucas‘ case.
@@realwhoasked I have no idea what rating they set the AI on but at least it could save the disconnected driver from being absolutely screwed beyond belief. I only know in league racing that we have it set to like 40 so that people can't leave the race and be competitive, so a DC can make you like 6 seconds per lap slower and you're like 30 seconds off when you rejoin. Problem is F123 is too buggy to mix in admin oversight without having something to stop AI making strategic decisions on your behalf
the rules say that the director May chose to deploy the VSC. They chose incompetence

Lucas Blakeley disconnected from the session. There is a rule that a vsc can be implemented when someone disconnected which happened. Jarno pitted a lap before the vsc and therefore lost a lot of time to others.
Don't these e-sports drivers have multiple IPs and backup connections to take over when one connection drops out? Surely they make enough money to get a 100% sure internet connection? That's like a shoe of Messi breaking and him having to be replaced lol
