Great video to get me started in ACC after coming from GT7 on the PS5. Some of the tips have saved me hours and let me access this awesome SIM. Thanks 🙏🏼
Thanks for the guide, as a newbie, I definitely learnt something. I adjusted my settings similar to yours and went out on track and was improving right away. Much appreciated keep the guides coming.
Actually, today I was gonna hang up the ACC disc and never play it again. But after watching this video I'm gonna give it another try. This should give me a little more confidence to get around the track. I could not get one clean lap if my life depended on it. I'll give you an update later. Thank you so much for making this. Great guide! I have ACC on PS5, but I don’t play as often as I’d like to because I’ve always found all those setups a little intimidating. Maybe I’ve been too spoiled by GT7, where you just jump in and go. No setups necessary🤣 This guide has given me more confidence, and I will give it another go. Thanks!!
Thanks Ray. Defo give it a try. The default setups are ok to start. They drive good but perhaps not the fastest. But until you’re hitting consistent lap times they will do just a good job 👍🏻

@andrewgoldsmith9764 you’ll be perfectly fine in ACC racing. The driver change thing is a bit strange. When I tried in career mode all the right options were set correctly and it did all the things like tires and Sri we change automatically 🤷🏻♂️
thanks Chris I didn't no that,so I will just use the career mode to practice everything for a while then I will get racing online and take it from there, thank you Chris and happy racing, respect to you.
Learned something new today from this. I thought the deadzone was for the bottom end as it is in most of the games. I played a lot with brake gamma earlier but it did nothing, before giving up on it & just swapped the rubber part inside the brake pedal instead which fixed it for good. Thanks for making this video, I will surely try a few things that you mentioned in the video.
I needed a bunch of this. Thank you! ACC settings can be confusing. The brake and FFB info was especially helpful. Also, I'd stopped getting the Track Medal graphic during practice. I thought it was because I'm special. I'd for some reason turned off Ranking in settings. It turns out I am special, just not how I thought. 'Don't turn that off' would be my recommendation. Thanks again for the video. If you make more, I will watch.
A note on the Gain, it should be set and adjusted based on the in-game force feedback bar shown in the bottom right corner of the instrument cluster display, labelled ‘FF’. You need to lower the Gain so you only occasionally get a red bar in the FF display, for example, when taking a kerb in a high speed corner. If it’s turning red often, even when driving normally, it’s clipping the signal. This means all the vital information the game is sending to your wheel about the current grip condition is being lost.
Hey, thank you very much. Extremely useful. You just brought me back in the game that I found to complicated to enjoy while trying to have fun in my free times. Tnx!
Just stumbled across your channel, what a really good explanation on how to set up for console, I’m going to start all over again with the game following your tutorial. I’ve never tried online multiplayer on ACC, cos I know what it’s like on GT7. But this tutorial has made me think I should when I get better at it, could take a while tho, as when you’re 66 the brain is slower😄. Thanks again your tutorial is worth its weight in gold. Man thanks a lot, you are an absolute legend. I kept on trying this game and always lose hopes of driving a lap clean and fed up. Now with your tweaks, i did 4 clean runs and geting addicted to this game. Yeah this s more a realistic approach game and its amazing. GT 7 is good too, but i love this one more. Big help with going over the settings on GT7 & ACC. I really enjoy ACC but the well was so out of alinement that ACC wasn't fun. Feels like a new game.
Thanks for this! In particular for recommending the Ferrari 488. My first attempt at ACC, I began the Junior Lamborghini training (or whatever they call it) and drove a Lambo and found it so horrible to drive that I just put ACC away. The 488 I could drive straight away, and even put TC at 0 as it is so well mannered. My background is a couple of months in GT7, and MAN does this feel and sound different. About races: I only tried one Quick Race, but I love how it immediately feels like an actual race among peers, and not the silly “catch-the-rabbit” type of race that GT7 does. This way I think I will learn so much more racecraft, even without going to the online races. (I will go though, but first I need to learn a LOT of new stuff. ACC does not make it easy, but it does feel like the right way to go after GT7.)
Happy to help man. Yeah the lambo is a real nightmare. No idea why they encourage you to drive that first. 🤷🏻♂️ The McLaren 720 Evo is great. I think that was added after I made this video. Worth a try too 👍🏻
Just finished to watch the video...this is great content! Serious start guide for new user, bookmarked and be back at it when I've got an hour of spare time in the weekend to set-up ACC...very curious about it! Personally I like 2 things: - the brake indicator in the right corner, where it tells how much you're braking or accelerating, incredible for me that I'm trying to improve my trailbracking - the option to adjust the height ecc ecc of the view, I like the choice you made and it's something not possible - for what I know - in GT7...in GT I'd like and I try to use the cockpit cam as much as possible but not using the VR I ofter switch to the hood cam to have a feeling of the surroundings especially during Time trials or online races Thanks!
Thanks man. Yes 100% agree with you. Really good to see the readouts and data. And being able to change and adjust the view is huge also. Really helps to get things set right and can be unique to how you want it 👍🏻
Cheers for the video… adjusting brake deadzone as soon as I load up… coming from gt7 I’ve never given acc a proper go. Hoping we get crossplay in the future. Feels like there’s not too much of a player base on console.
Yeah I think the console player base is lacking right now. But update 1.9 for console is GREAT and we are going to try and bring more people into it. More people is more fun for everyone 👍🏻
Thanks for the explanation of the brake deadzone - I didn't know about that! My brake pedals are extremely stiff and I have a hard time pushing them to 100%, even when I set them to the "easiest" in my firmware settings, so this is a huge help for me.
I know. When I was setting up and testing it worked backwards to what I would Exocet deadband to be. But it’s actually really useful 👍🏻 It’ll defo help. It was a game changer for me.
I would add some supports to each side of the Wheel Stand, i used 25mm boxed alloy, paint it black, i used the exsisting holes on the base at the front and drilled a hole below the side adjustments, No side-side wobble now
16:22 For me the easiest circuit to learn was Zolder. I'm bad enough to finish last against bots on easy. The hardest was Silverstone, I raced in all of them to get the medals. There's something about Zolder that makes it easy, low speed and no blind turns.
Agree with you 100% the match making is crazy you get some good lobbies and then you get some good lobbies with a noob in there and just can’t race. The penalties are crazy over kill just to harsh a lot of the time. I have moved to assetto corsa competizione. Hopefully Forza will get fixed
Waiting on my Fanatec GT DD Pro 8NM bundle and also my Playseat Trophy Black. This will be my first racing rig. I'm looking forward to giving this a run. I still made this setup for now, ran a few practice laps with the controller using the Porsche 991 GT3. Coming from GT7, which I'm still getting used to. This is also seem cool so far.
You should put the g29 /g923 in your description on this video. Lots of people are looking for good settings and I never found any. I ended up doing a couple weeks of testing on the 923 and found on the wheel settings I’m at the same as you are. The pedals are far better on the 923 so those don’t need any of the settings tweaked. Anyways I think you will get a lot more engagement with those added.
I finally got a chance to setup ACC on the pS5 (too much GT7) lol, after finally following our setup using my backup Fanatec CSL DD everything in game was perfect...in car view, FFB ect.. The only major problem I had was getting ACC to recognize the wheel base "weird". I'll be joining your discord soon to get some racing in once I get my weight up 😁
Excellent. Yeah ACC recognising controllers can be a bit strange. It seems best to have wheel powered up and signed in before you start ACC else strange things can happen.
Good Job & Thank You Sir! I'm finding that this game is a better experience than GT7. Don't get me wrong, GT7 is fun....But....ACC speaks to me a little more. You for sure have to be more precise with the throttle and overall technique.
Nice video, I haven't got a wheel and I've got enough space for wheel, so but I try on the edge controller and I'll let you know why think about it but it was definitely a good video.... 👍🏿
Thanks man. Yeah I’ll be covering most thing for ACC. I’ve typically just set aggressiveness the same as difficulty. I was running it around 90% up to 95% gets a bit harder just running default setups without much practise.
If you have a fiddle about with the settings the dualsense feels great and the handling compared gt7 i would say (really hard to explain) raw in the best kind of way imaginable, GT feels like the cars are so well engineered and clinical which is good but ACC feels like someone has said that can go and stripped the car right down to the bare minimum and its rattling away as its screaming through aeu rouge amazing Just up the Ai and a 20 min quick race with a random grid and youll come away grinning your t.ts off Atb
I'm just getting started in ACC and this was exactly the guide that I was looking for .. In rFactor 2 you can assign a key to Restart Race if it doesn't go as planned . Is there something similar in ACC ?
This game becomes so much better with these settings, Thank you for that....the only thing I can't figure out is how to set the different strenght of force feedback for each car cause when I play the ferrari on 65% it feels just right with my wheel, however if I switch to the Nissan gtr 2018 its way to high and my wheel is clipping Hope you got an answer for me
I do… kind of. The caster setting (in the tires car setup menu) has an effect on the strength of the feedback. Felt. This is a realistic behaviour. Lower caster is less feedback. It’s not quite as simple as only affecting the force feedback. Caster also as an effect on tire temps to a certain extent. I typically find it best to find a good car and stick with that car and tune my FFB to work for that car 👍🏻
Thank You !!! i noticed my physical wheel (a ddpro) match that rotation animation in options (1080 on both in game and on wheel) but... when driving in cockpit mode it is not with same accuracy... did you experience the same and which one is the correct in between the two to look for
post 1.9 patch it looks like the game is managing for each car automatically if you just leave it at 1080 in game and sensibility on auto on DDpro.. so no need to apply individual steer lock for each car as said in other older threads... if anyone could confirm it on Ps5 acc would be very grateful. thanks
great video ! Question on how the in game force feedback gain works with the actual wheel force feedback setting. Example, i have the logitech pro racing wheel with 11nm and the gain in the game is 100%. Would we have to just change one of those settings , either the gain in the game or the actual force feedback on the racing wheel?
Thanks man. What I would do is set your wheel FFB to maximum (or quite high) and then dial the gain back in game to be the amount of weight in the wheel that you want. 👍🏻
Thanks for the guide. So i went through an online calculator to get my FOV based on screen size and distance from the monitor but its feels really wrong.... car feels really slow and when going in turn its feels like its rotating instead of turning.
Yeah I often feel the same. I have my FOV much higher than calculated. I think the perfect FOV is more important when you are on PC with triple screens etc. it’s interesting to ‘know’ what the correct FOV should be. But adjust to what feels right 👍🏻
Thank You QQ are rhe braking points for GR3 cars equivalent in Monza circuit to those in Gt7 ? what could be my readiness ratio when arrriving by GT7 ... 50 , 70, 90 % ?
In the big braking zones. Defo start out being earlier on the brakes in ACC. Especially the big braking zones. Into Lesno 1 and 2 it can be quite similar. But overall. Brake earlier in ACC 👍🏻
Hi, can i ask you a question? how you get the white wheel rotation and pedals in control settings? I'm asking this because when i go to settings i only see 5 bars instead the white wheel and pedals.. :/ (i'm on pc)
i play on xbox and i play f1 as my main game and just found acc and want to test it out is there a way of me swapping my throttle and brake pedals to what i choose
Can you disable background music on this game or any other PS5 game? Especially racing games coz' I can't hear the sound of the vehicles and being drowned by those freaking music it's annoying after a while and I just want to hear the sound of what I'm playing and totally disable all music.
@@Doughtinator I did that and it turned off all the sounds of the game including the sound of the roaring engine. It's worse with Gran Turismo as I can barely hear the sound of the engine with those loud music🤮🤧lol. this used to be an easy process with the old consoles

I would add some supports to each side of the Wheel Stand, i used 25mm boxed alloy, paint it black, i used the exsisting holes on the base at the front and drilled a hole below the side adjustments, No side-side wobble now
Thankyou so so much for this video ive just bought the game & the wheel as im a 53 old beginner will subscribe to your channel 🙂🙂🙂🙂
16:22 For me the easiest circuit to learn was Zolder. I'm bad enough to finish last against bots on easy. The hardest was Silverstone, I raced in all of them to get the medals. There's something about Zolder that makes it easy, low speed and no blind turns.
It’s a very good point. I guess if you take the chicanes easy you’ll be good 👍🏻
These settings help tremendously. Thank you
Awesome. Happy to help man 👍🏻👍🏻
Agree with you 100% the match making is crazy you get some good lobbies and then you get some good lobbies with a noob in there and just can’t race. The penalties are crazy over kill just to harsh a lot of the time. I have moved to assetto corsa competizione. Hopefully Forza will get fixed
If the game was busy it would be superb. It’s just lacking the broader player base right now.
This is also seem cool so far.
awesome! yeah compared to GT7 the immersion is next-level
Thx for the ultimate beginner’s guide, coming from GT7… I’m totally lost in ACC. But I unfortunately play with a controller. 😞
I tried on controller last night. It’s actually better than I remember. I think I’ll make a video because tweaking the settings will help 👍🏻
@@Doughtinatorgood idea… it’ll definitely help me and others who use a controller.
Thanks, Great timing too, Assetto Corsa Competizione is currently free to play on Xbox this weekend.
Awesome. Exact same applies to Xbox too 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you, so so much for this video.. I have the identical set up just like you. Help me a ton.
Perfect. If you have any other questions let me know 👍🏻
I can't believe the deadline is the wrong way round in this game, thats going to help a lot as i have the same issue with the logitech brake
Yeah it definitely feels miss labelled. But it’s a VERY useful option 👍🏻
Good feedback man. Appreciated 👍🏻👍🏻
@@Doughtinator
Exactly, took me about 40mins or so piddling around with it before doing just that.
Good Job & Thank You Sir! I'm finding that this game is a better experience than GT7. Don't get me wrong, GT7 is fun....But....ACC speaks to me a little more. You for sure have to be more precise with the throttle and overall technique.
Thanks man. Yeah I like ACC and GT7. But very different ways to enjoy both. Casual fun. GT7. A little more depth and immersion then go ACC 👍🏻👍🏻
Really beneficial video for me thank you.
Happy to help man.
This there drift in this game?
Greatly appreciated this, thanks!
Happy to help man 👍🏻
Thanks!!!!! U save my game I was so frustrated. U rock
Happy to help man 👍🏻👍🏻
Great video bro. Thank you
Happy to help man 👍🏻👍🏻
Do you still play acc on console?
I tried a sim grid race. That was great fun. But I don’t get much time for ACC at the moment. Would love to play it more 👍🏻
@@Doughtinator ok kool. Maybe when you have time we could join a multi player and race together man
Nice video, I haven't got a wheel and I've got enough space for wheel, so but I try on the edge controller and I'll let you know why think about it but it was definitely a good video.... 👍🏿
Definitely let us know how you get on. I briefly tried controller recently and it was better than I thought it was going to be 👍🏻
Outstanding, thank you.
Happy to help man 👍🏻
Great video Chris, thanks. Would be interested to hear your views on single player/career mode AI settings for opponent skill and aggressiveness.
Thanks man. Yeah I’ll be covering most thing for ACC.
I’ve typically just set aggressiveness the same as difficulty. I was running it around 90% up to 95% gets a bit harder just running default setups without much practise.
If you have a fiddle about with the settings the dualsense feels great and the handling compared gt7 i would say (really hard to explain) raw in the best kind of way imaginable, GT feels like the cars are so well engineered and clinical which is good but ACC feels like someone has said that can go and stripped the car right down to the bare minimum and its rattling away as its screaming through aeu rouge amazing
Just up the Ai and a 20 min quick race with a random grid and youll come away grinning your t.ts off
Atb
Nice. That’s great to hear the controller can be enjoyable too 👍🏻👍🏻
Great help thanks 🙏
Happy to help man 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice video really helpful
Thanks man. Happy to help 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for this video. Made
Want to learn now this now after changing my setting
Awesome. Glad it helped man. I’ll have more videos covering ACC in the future 👍🏻
Is there drift in this game?
@@16SRGANG ac 1 more for drifting
I'm just getting started in ACC and this was exactly the guide that I was looking for .. In rFactor 2 you can assign a key to Restart Race if it doesn't go as planned . Is there something similar in ACC ?
Happy to help man. I don’t think you can do this with a button map. It I think from the pause menu it might be possible.
thanks chris , great video , i will give it all a try 👍
Awesome. Let us know how you get on 👍🏻
This game becomes so much better with these settings, Thank you for that....the only thing I can't figure out is how to set the different strenght of force feedback for each car cause when I play the ferrari on 65% it feels just right with my wheel, however if I switch to the Nissan gtr 2018 its way to high and my wheel is clipping
Hope you got an answer for me
I do… kind of.
@@Doughtinator So easiest way is into the options menu and then set the gain lighter or heavier for each car?
Great guide
Thanks man 👍🏻
Re-loaded ACC into Xbox X still can’t get force feedback to work.
All settings similar to yours….
The search for help continues.
Deadzone should be the at the bottom. When you push the pedal a little it wont brake already.🤔🤔
Yeah. It’s not how you would expect it to be. But the setting is super useful 👍🏻
@@Doughtinator i use v3 pedal with stifness hard. And also with a extra damper kit on top of that. Set to 2. Thats only to not brake TO fast
Thanks , nice tutorial !
Don’t forget to change your gain setting if your force feedback is in the red in the bottom right of the screen you don’t want any clipping
That’s a very good point 👍🏻
Change down?
Yes down
Hey. I did exactly as you did. But my car wont let me drive, idk why. Any tips?
Have you got it set to auto or manual start?
make sure you are on the wheel instead of the controller at the top of the page
Interesting 👍, Continue in the same spirit
Thanks man 👍🏻
Great explanation, thank you. Can i ask what size monitor you use in your acc videos.
I use a 27 inch monitor quite close behind my wheelbase.
@@Doughtinator thank you
Is there a way of changing the brake to far left clutch pedal.
That would be nice but I don’t think it’s possible. In software at least.
Perhaps if you swapped some wires physically but do that at your own risk.
Thank You !!! i noticed my physical wheel (a ddpro) match that rotation animation in options (1080 on both in game and on wheel) but... when driving in cockpit mode it is not with same accuracy... did you experience the same and which one is the correct in between the two to look for
I think it’s best to set both wheel and in game settings to 900. They should match then. Let me know if that helps.
post 1.9 patch it looks like the game is managing for each car automatically if you just leave it at 1080 in game and sensibility on auto on DDpro.. so no need to apply individual steer lock for each car as said in other older threads... if anyone could confirm it on Ps5 acc would be very grateful. thanks
great video !
Thanks man 👍
Happy to help 👍🏻
Thanks for the guide. So i went through an online calculator to get my FOV based on screen size and distance from the monitor but its feels really wrong.... car feels really slow and when going in turn its feels like its rotating instead of turning.
Yeah I often feel the same. I have my FOV much higher than calculated.
I think the perfect FOV is more important when you are on PC with triple screens etc.
it’s interesting to ‘know’ what the correct FOV should be. But adjust to what feels right 👍🏻
Nice pretty much same way I run , probably cause we both play GT7
Yeah. I’m defo trying to get pedal feel to match GT7
I enjoy it a lot on Series X is there a known issue that one not experiencing?
I’m not sure on Series X
How to get control for abs brake, tcu etc... while race to modify?
Which of the games is more focused for competitive racing? Standard ac or ACC?
ACC is more focussed on competitive racing.
@@Doughtinator thank you !
It might be different on PC. You could just go into cockpit view in the car and see if it matches.
Do you have any videos about setting up your team in ACC?
I have one question, what is the differnce in the gt racing bundel and the complete dlc pack
Thank you
Happy to help man 👍🏻👍🏻
i play on xbox and i play f1 as my main game and just found acc and want to test it out is there a way of me swapping my throttle and brake pedals to what i choose
Can you disable background music on this game or any other PS5 game? Especially racing games coz' I can't hear the sound of the vehicles and being drowned by those freaking music it's annoying after a while and I just want to hear the sound of what I'm playing and totally disable all music.
I think you can. Double check the settings and lower the music volume I think.
@@Doughtinator I did that and it turned off all the sounds of the game including the sound of the roaring engine. It's worse with Gran Turismo as I can barely hear the sound of the engine with those loud music🤮🤧lol. this used to be an easy process with the old consoles
Do you have to buy access to these tracks? Because I just bought this game on PS5 and the only track available is Nurburgring and the Lambo.
There are DLC tracks but you should get a bunch of tracks with the game. Spa and silverstone for sure. Maybe you need to play through the game a bit first?
How do I get the full Nurburgring on a PS5? What DLC do I need?
Afraid it’s not released on console yet. My guess is some time in May for consoles…
