giant squid is longer. Colossal squid are definitely denser. also 1:52 that's a squid arm. Tentacles/clubs only have suckers at their oar shaped tips/clubs. Actually since it's you're dream squid the clubs of the colossal have rotating nightmare teeth.
@@samuelgeorge7504 yup. at least no longer examples have ever been observed. They're bigger with regards to density. Did you ever see the monster quest in the sea of cortez? they showed a brief glimpse of a much larger squid in amongst the diablo rojas

Do you think the extinction of the hugs squid species would mean the extinction of sperm whales or do you think the can get by on fish and medium squids?
I think he's not correct saying they are in deep canyons somewhere in the Southern Ocean. They are always in the same lakes I go to swim. Relatively close to the shore. Waiting.
Given the size of a sperm whale and its calorific needs to maintain that size, I would think there are more giant and colossal squids in the oceans than the rare sightings suggest.

It's been tried with suction devices to attached the camera, the best they got you see the tip of a tentacle ending up in front of the camera and staying there. Then the camera would detach and they find it with sonar.
So wrong! Why didn't you put him back in the ocean where he belongs!!! You are doing nothing to keep them from going extinct by locking the squid in Aquarium prison!! When things are beautiful, old, and rare, they should be protected and left in their own habitat!!!

The drawing is very exaggerated, giant squid are longer than the colossal squid, the colossal squid has a bigger body, but the tentacles and arms are shorter.
@@mamberroi0935 the colossal squid? Yes, it happened at least once and was filmed it's pretty impressive, I'll look for it and try to give you the link. It was a fishing boat in Antarctica that had one hooked.
There you go I posted the link, they say 20 meters in the description, that's BS. It's the heaviest squid ever weighted, but not the longest, that record is for the giant squid architeutis!😉
Actually we don't know what one is longer only one specimen of the colossal squid has been found we know they weigh double that of a giant squid and it's very possible the kraken stories had some truth in the colossal squid not the giant squid. The colossal squid is twice as wide at 2-3 meters on the one specimen we have.

How smart would a giant squid or colossal squid be? Are they as intelligent as octopus?
Average squid already are so smarter 👍
I do believe the squid would tear that ROV the pieces. Unlike octopus, squid are a very ferocious, violent predators.
Yeah, because an ROV made of metal and plastic is totally gonna make a great meal for a squid

Without studying we don't know whether they are threatened or fine to take any action to preserve them. But what you are saying is also true.
Sperm whale pods on a hunt for squid is the better & safer option. How to attach a camera or rov to sperm whale w/o interference or harm to the whale
