I use to play this game so much when I was in elementary school. My mom loves this game and showed it to me, knowing I've never played the board game or seen the movie. The graphics, music and mansion were iconic and still are! This version ruined any other versions for me lol
Yeah when I made this video there was literally two for sale on ebay and they were both around $80 with shipping. Now there does appear to be a few more for sale and significantly cheaper but still not that many. My only thought is that most people got the game as kids in the cereal boxes like you mentioned so they never had a hard physical case to put the game in, leading to most of the CDs becoming destroyed and unplayable over the years. It's the one advantage cartridge games have over disk ones, they tend to survive better and can take more punishment.
I still have my version from the cereal box lol. I believe it was Cinnamon toast Crunch that I got it from and also have my Roller Coaster Tycoon from one of the GM cereals too just forgot which one.

There hasn't been a good interactive clue game made in years. This looked really good though. Got the ambience of the game right. The recent tablet and phone versions are ok but could have been alot better

Unfortunately the only way I could find to get this game nowadays is downloading it illegally online. That or pay like $80 for a physical copy that isn't even guaranteed to work on newer machines. I do still have my old disk but didn't even bother to try as I'm sure a game that old would have so many compatibility issues it would be unplayable. I found a version of the game that had supposedly been altered to work with newer machines but even then it was a really finicky bitch to get running properly. I'd definitely be on board for a remaster of this game.
