Hey mate been watching you walking and catching the crabs. seems you always have to find a suitable spot to tie them up. Just a thought mate maybe a piece of marine ply the right size and a a cord tied to it to hang over your shoulder as it wouldn't be very heavy but could be very handy.

I have thought about something like that, the hardest part is trying to keep it fixed in place when tying a crab. But I guess if I’m near a tree I can always push it up against the tree 🤔 definitely some food for thought, thanks for the idea. 👍

So in Florida we have Rock Crabs that we trap in pots and only the claws are taken and only one claw per crab so the crustaceans can regrow the severed claw. Is this why so many mud crabs only have one claw or do they lose them in fights?

That’s interesting. Sounds like a good way of preventing overfishing of the crab. Ours just tend to lose them in fights. Mud crabs have one of the highest levels of testosterone per pound out of most animals in the animal kingdom. That’s why they’re so aggressive. 😅
