It was almost a RECORD how much OVERGROWTH I REMOVED

- These are the most overgrown sidewalks and curbs I've seen in a while! I spent over 8 hours edging and shoveling the dirt off the surfaces to remove it. After I got finished, I weighed my truck before and after dropping it off to see how much I actually removed. It came in at about 2000 pounds!

I think you must have the strongest back of anyone on UA-cam. That's a lot of shoveling! Great job!
I think about that every time!!!! My back gets sore just from doing regular edging that’s not overgrown

Right! Amazing work though!
Lol yeah that made me laugh, that’s way more than a weeks worth of neglect but at least he was polite.
In defense of the homeowner, the majority of the overgrowth was the curbs and sidewalks. 🤷♀️
The property values increased the next day. I hope the community appreciates you. You have an excellent work ethic. I hope that homeowner keeps up with it now. Great job, Spencer!!🙌
Imagine the heartbreak when that guy drives past NEXT WEEK and it's all over grown again!!
Out of town for a WEEK....yes,right.
Been sitting on a lazy ass for two years more like.
@@patmorrell5963There's plenty of people who simply don't like lawns. They are a big waste of money and space, plus is incredibly hazardous for the environment. I would personally use the area to garden.
5:28 It's unheard of, in today's world, that anyone would do this kind of labor-intensive work for FREE. What a blessing you truly are to the people you help.
While it's free to the people he cuts for these videos, his videos get millions of views. It pays for itself and more. It's a smart business model, and definitely very beneficial to the people he helps. But he likely wouldn't be doing it if he couldn't monetize it through the power of the internet. That would be insanity.
It's still extremely hard work, and he absolutely deserves all the success his channels get.
Ikr? I always impressed by how much hard work this dude can endure. And all for free
@@leandro4552 You can call it brand awareness, marketing, whatever you'd like. While the homeowners are receiving free lawn care, the job is not being done for free, if that sense.
Seems like a wonderful guy and does great work / makes great content, but he's not a saint. 😂
What makes it so unheard of? It all boils down to the fact that the majority of people under 45 are basically lazy and weak, especially in the West.
Without knowing the whole back story on how this yard got out of hand, I will not make assumptions.
What I do know, is that it is a lot easier to find lawncare or mow yourself, when the yard is in good shape!
Thank you, SB for a job done well!!!🎉😊😊😊
The back story...?
The back story is the guy was lazy and neglectful, end of back story.

I agree with all the past comments saying the town you help out needs to pass A Spencer Appreciation Day in your honor, this back breaking job alone with all that overgrown dirt, grass and all shows how hard working, dedicated and thorough you are. And a shout out to your younger brother, Weed Whack Jack, good to see he is also in the mowing business, all the best to you Spencer and all your loved ones.

If each garbage bag weighed 50 pounds, then Spencer used and carried 40 bags for that clean up.
If I was healthy I wouldn't be able to stop offering to help if he was doing my yard. Even just bagging up the waste or something. I hope they keep him supplied with endless cold drinks and some lunch. What an angel he is to all the eldery and disabled. X
Wow. That was a massive job. I hope that those you help understand the incredible amount of work you do for them. You are so kind & generous.

My goodness, what a job. I hope this homeowner will take advantage of how you cleaned up and edged for him. Good job, Spencer.
I like his work ethic. He does the lawns like he's doing his own lawn. Great job!!
Hey Spencer, just a suggestion from experience here. Drill a few holes going up on the garbage can and a full bag of grass will come out a whole lot easier.
I did that to my kitchen trash can! Works great 👌
But be sure to file those holes or they’ll tear your bags! Good idea though!
and they don't even need to be that big. Just big enough for a little are to get through.
@@martyplunkett7011drill from inside out
They also are nice so you don't have to poke a hole in the bag and they just fit in the can better
Spencer you always seem to pick corner lots or houses that have so much frontage. I get excited to see the before and after pictures. You are one hard worker with the biggest heart. What a blessing you are to your community! 😊
I was about to say the same thing! He always picks out huge corner lots. Didn’t know if it was a coincidence or intentional!
I counted 25 bags on that front yard. 2 thousand pounds! A full ton! I believe it! Good job Spencer! 👍🇺🇸💙
I just want to say that for the most part whenever I watch these videos, I’m always surprised and happy to see how nonjudgmental people are. I see so many people giving sympathy and understanding towards the people who have overgrowth and unkept yards. It’s really inspiring and has really made me know that I’m on the right path in my journey towards being more understanding towards people. It really is true that when your intent and energy out there you find yourself inundated with people😊 who are already embodying what you’re trying to do.
Well said, gracias.
The lawns turn out so much better when you bag all the over grown grass/dirt after edging. Love seeing these transformations, even got me doing better with my own lawn care.
Whew! That edging was a back breaker! Bagging and removing the edgings instead of mowing over them was an extra step but made a world of difference. Really nice work, Spenser!
The upside to the seeing how bad these lawns & etc are, is seeing the detailed work in getting it cleaned up. So Bless these homeowners for whatever reason to have let that happen. 🙏
Spencer, you are a great man to go around and do the things you do for the community and for common decency! I applaud you and lift you up in prayer for what you do! I have a question for you, have you ever went back to any of the locations and ever did a look back? Does anyone ever keep up the hard work that you have done? Or do all of the work go to waste, I despise how negative that sounds. Any locations that you have kept up with? Thank you for the content you put out!
This is a huge transformation. It doesn't look like the same place. What a pretty neighborhood with the pecan trees lining the streets. You're awesome. Thanks for introducing your brother Jack.
I was tired after the second bag, and I’m only watching you work 😂 you’ve got stamina for days, Spencer. Well done, and keep up the positive energy!
When I was 47, I started doing landscape maintence, mostly mowing (walking behind the mower). Boy I was fit! Lots of exercise and had pretty good energy (climate wasn't bad either...not the heat and humidity Spenser is working in). By 60, I figured my body was worth about half my younger energy. You are forced to learn how to work with the resources you have. As you get older, your experience is more valuable, but often people don't value the experience as part of the work (labor) qualifications! 😊
That bagging and dragging will wear you out!
Excellent work as always- I'm sure the neighbors will appreciate the transformation!
I love seeing the sidewalk ramp cleared. That's going to help lots of folks get out and about who we're possibly afraid of falling before.😊
Incredible! That was an awesome transformation. I had a good chuckle over the homeowner's comment that he has been gone for a week. Those are the fastest growing edges, EVER! 😂 Kidding aside, I do get it when you just don't have the right equipment. Beautiful work done by a very generous guy. ❤🎉
You don't need the "right" equipment to clean up your lawn and do edging. There are old-fashioned manual edgers that an able-bodied young man could push around if he had a mind to do it! I have one hanging in my garage, for goodness sake and I'm a 72 year old woman. You can probably find them at garage sales. You don't need a top notch edger or string trimmer to pull weeds and clip corners and fence lines clean.
@@jannibal9273 So true. And why would you buy/rent a home with that insane amount of frontage and then never maintain it for years?

Definitely agree. I paid $200 at Tractor Supply for a towable lawn cart that can haul 1,500 pounds. I use that little workhorse all of the time!
I agree,save your back!
I just posted the same thing about using a trash can on wheels. I bought mine at Walmart for $30 and it has been so much better to use than hauling around a regular trash can. It’ll even roll on grass. It’s important to treat your back with care because the older you get the more you’ll feel how you jacked your back over the years. I just turned 65. It isn’t called “back breaking work” for nothing.
Also with the square one on wheels the heavy paper lawn bags drop right down perfectly in the one on wheels. No need to empty out all the plastic bags because the lawn bags compost right down.
Very good job. That was a lot of work done. It's a shame to see these houses abandon. The neighborhood looks bad.
