    My 12 yr old Chihuahua mix urinates normally during the day and loves to drink water. Everything is fine during the DAY... But lately she's been having random episodes of nocturia. Not every night but they are happening more frequently...2x this week. With her age, should i just consider it a weakened sphincter? Or should I have the vet do a UA just to rule out a UTI or a bladder infection? I could be wrong but there was possibly a pinkish brown edge to the urine stain on my white sheets. Regardless, I'm going to get xs doggie diapers at PetSmart! ;)

    My 15 year old female West Highland Terrier started having trouble urinating a week ago and had some blood clots when she did pass a little bit of urine as she was straining, I gave her 250mg vitamin C twice a day (500mg total per day) , cranberries, cranberry juice - I also gave her chicken broth to make sure shes getting enough water along side the vitamin C, within a few days she was back to being able to urinate properly and has stopped straining. Not sure if its just a coincidence but the vitamin C, cranberries, and chicken broth combination seems to have fixed the issue.

    You asked all the right questions, but I am not convinced that prescription antibiotics and other expensive PH prescriptions are the best approach to providing an enduring solution. Do you have any experience or recommendations about treating animals with UTIs with Methylene Blue (MB)?. I understand that MB is used surgically in ligation protocols. Thoughts?

    My female German Shepherd got pregnant 2 month ago, and near her delivery time she started peeing blood, antibiotics were given and the blood stopped for a while, then after 15-20 days again there was *blood with mucus/sticky fluid with thick consistency* , again the vet recommended cephalexin, still she pees blood with mucus,
    now i am worried if it is a UTI or hematuria . Please help.

    Quick question.. my dog has been house trained but she did have an accident inside the house a couple of days ago (this occurred twice) however I’ve cleaned the site of the vulva when i seen there was some irritation seen on the site. After cleaning and giving water while having a close eye for any other signs.. she’s literally been normal and the same. Urinating at a regular rate and eating and acting normal. Should i still act and get a cranberry stuff or wait and see if i see any other signs with her in the future ?

      I would have your vet test a urine sample to make sure she doesn't have infection starting. Then you'll know for sure if she's needing anything else to be done. Sheryl at Revival.

      Our dog got dehydrated when we had a seriously ill family member. The vet charged $500 for the sonogram guided urine sample & antibiotics & claimed other tests were done but we never heard. Many friends have said no more pets because vets are too expensive.

    My female GSD (6 y/o spayed) had a dental cleaning, a cracked tooth removed and a tiny cyst taken off of her foot, she came through the surgery okay and was given antibiotics for two weeks and pain meds. About a week after the antibiotics were done she started drinking excessively and in turn peeing excessively. No blood, pee is clear, no smell and doesn't show any ph imbalance on a test strip. Could it be that the extended larger dose antibiotics is causing her issues? She's not straining or having accidents in the house but we are letting her out every couple of hours day and night. Thank you in advance for any ideas. She is a very bad patient at the vet, scared of everyone there, (long story), so if I can avoid taking her it's better but will if she needs it. I got some doggy urine & bladder balance cranberry/apple cider vinegar pills but that's only been a couple of days, no changes.

    • @RevivalAnimal
      @RevivalAnimal  Рік тому

      Rebecca it could be from the antibiotics. I would recommend giving a probiotic. This will help the intestinal track. If the excessive drinking continue, I would recommend your vet examine her again. Sheryl at Revival.

    I have a 16 week old cocker spaniel and she pees all the time. I counted almost 10x in one hour. She drinks a lot of water as well when she does drink, then pees almost every 5 minutes. I'm constantly changing pee pads. The urine has no smell, it's clear, no blood. I'm nervous she's got diabetes.

      You may observe your dog circling excessively, scooting (dragging bottom along the ground) or squatting frequently, or even crying out in severe cases. Other clinical signs include decreased appetite, vomiting, small amounts of watery feces or feces that contains mucus (without a normal stool), and weight loss. The Paws Squad.
