So Batman V Superman UC held up better than Suicide Squad. At last someone agrees!
Hans Hoffmann Batman v Superman UC is totally awesome in my opinion. Haven't seen the extended cut of SS yet tho, but I liked the original cut overall.
I enjoyed the theatrical cut of SS enough. I found it very flawed, but it was never dull or boring, which is always a good thing. Chara ters were great and techincally it was also unique, while not always perfect. Storyline and main bad guys were generic, but the Squad itself made the movie. Extended Cut is no different, just some new inconsequential scenes added there as a bonus for fans. Those new scenes were great though.
Batman V Superman I found it mediocre after my first viewing. Totally loved the UC, thought it was a fantastic film as well.
I haven't seen Star Trek: Beyond, and I am trying to grow my Blu Ray collection. :) So far, I'm at 27 movies.

Idk to me it's John DiMaggio. I love Mark Hamill and whenever I read a comic, Jokers voice will be Mark's, but everything about Under The Red Hood was amazing. I actually consider it for one of the best comic book movies in general. Like it was so good I don't even read the comic anymore. I just watch the movie. The comic does not exist to me. And one of the reasons it was great is because of John DiMaggio. His Joker sounded cold, cunty, sinister, and towards the end of the film his insanity showed. Mark Hamill sounds over the top compared to him. Not only that but that laugh of John DiMaggio sounds like he's laughed so long. His laugh sounds experienced, like it has a story.

I have been debating whether or not to buy Suicide Squad extended cut. I enjoyed it but I did have issues with the film but I feel the negatives may out way the positives.
Jon Stewart If your looking for a guilty pleasure movie which knows what it is then yeah Suicide Squad extended cut despite quite a few issues is a pretty good fun watch

I just watched Suicide Squad again this morning for the third time and I personally really like the movie. I think it's a cool fun entertaining movie with some great characters some characters I like more than others like Harley Quinn and Deadshot of course. all film is subjective we all have different opinions but I think the movie is great it entertained me and that's all I want from a movie entertainment.

Everyone was parsing it last year, now everyone seems to hate it. While I don't love it as much as my initial theater viewing, I still think its great. People just jump from bandwagon to bandwagon
Julian Webb I think mainly the negative people has always been very loud and that goes for any huge movie, I still think people love it but a lot of people do seem to have turned on it a bit which is fine of course. I just wish people took more time before they gave their opinion. Putting it as number 1 movie of the year after only seeing it a week prior is silly to me.
Here's something else Force Awakens has that the prequels dont have: rewatchablilty factor. Thats why Chris Stuckman put Interstellar in hus best 2014 movies despite giving it a b+ cause of how much you can still see the movie. Rots nearly has that but still bad dialogue between Anakin and Padme(its only because I'm so in love, Anakin your breaking my heart)

Julian Webb It's a fine movie on its own, but... I feel like I don't need to watch it again. Maybe because it's so similar to A New Hope (or Star Wars, if you prefer) has a lot to do with that, but I just don't feel that big an urge to revisit it.

Suicide squad is always a terrible movie.
I had the exact same feeling while watching the theatrical version and I was like "YEAAH! \m/" and re-watching the extended cut I was like "Yea--HEY! That's the same cut"
DC Movies are so bad you have to talk yourself into saying they're not completely terrible.
if u want terrible superhero movies go back and watch the last fantastic 4, xmen origin, xmen 3, superman 3,4, blade 3, spiderman 3, iron 3, batman & robin, the 90's superhero movies too. then come back to ur comment. the dceu movies so far are just ok in my opinion but I've seen worst superhero movies in the last two decade combined. dceu may have a rough start but if they get their shit together story wise and editing, they should be fine i hope.
Which Suicide Squad isn't that much better then any of those movies. Jared Leto is by far the worst Joker actor yet..

my guess is, some of the extended scenes with the Joker might have been written and filmed for the earlier version of the movie. after the re-shoots the scenes probably either didn't make sense with the final cut, or would caused some major differences in the story. according to what I've heard, there was a scene filmed where the Joker would have shown up at the end, and would want to help the Enchantress take over the world.

The Black and Chrome edition isn't just a black and white filter. It's an entirely different grading of the movie. Yes they took out the color and increased the contrast, but they also brightened and darkened certain things in the film to draw more attention to them. Things like the writings on the wall of the vault are much brighter in the B&C edition. I don't know which version I like more. I think the Black and Chrome makes some of the themes of the film more obvious, and also makes the film a little scarier. But the color is so beautiful. Either way it still is bold filmmaking that fits the tone of the film.
the black and chrome was fullly remastered, and there is a very noticable difference between turning your tv's colour to black and white and the blu ray

To me, "Fury Road" was a reminder that we can still have blockbusters with some big popping color, and that's what truly sold me with it. Feels kind of silly to have a black and chrome edition.

9 minute extended cuts are worth it especially when you compare it to the extended cuts when the first started doing them. 1 extra minute or added blood and oh look now it's an extended cut

I'd argue that there was a sit down slow moment in Suicide Squad. It was the classic David Ayer dining scene. In this case it was the bar scene. For Fury, it was the German girl and mother breakfast scene

Mad max fury road isn't just an action movie, it's a piece of art. It shows that you don't always need to have an epic story to make a film great, the way how you present it matters even more. Watching that movie is just mesmerising.
I've gotta say that I agree with you on the Black and Chrome Edition. A local theater near me recently showed the B&C version and I went to see it with some friends. It's kinda neat, but I feel like you really lose that grand feel of insanity when viewing it. Also thanks for the heads up about the lack of extra Joker scenes in the Suicide Squad "Extended Cut."

Actually I WOULD include Leto's Joker as one of the greatest. I f---ing LOVE his Joker. I'll concede a couple of your comments (the extended cut should've given us more of his cut scenes, at least as deleted scenes in the extras. And the movie has a sometimes frenetic pace where you have to really get what's going on fast or you could easily miss stuff or get lost, and that's almost definitely an editing issue.) have validity, but it's still a fantastic movie for fans. I seriously can't get enough of it.
As for Extended Cuts, I love them unless they are a cash grab (2 extra minutes! Or the cases where they release the theatrical on BR and then release the extended months later without advance warning that an alternate cut is coming). SS should've given us more than it did, but it was still really fun, and BvS's Ultimate Cut was really good.
i'm not gonna kill that Star Trek Beyond Blu-ray that i want really, really much... i'm just gonna feed my Blu-ray player with it really, really hard.
