Love your honesty John . I’m a 64 year old man I believe in Jesus Christ and that’s where my joy comes from. And ride my bikes whenever I can.😎 Merry Christmas.
Hey man thank you for this vlog, and your transparency! I can definitely relate to everything you said! I know that you are putting this out for us, but I want you to know that we are here for you as much as you are here for us! We love the content you put out! Me personally I’ve lived in AZ my whole life, and have found therapy in rippin’ my Dyna around as my daily for the past couple years, and following like minded people like you! Thank you Jon for everything you do! 💜🤘
im 33 now and the last 3 years ive been depressed and stressed dealing with getting older and my mortality. Ive literally been thinking im sick with this or that and thinking im dying from this or that. i used to feel invinveable and think id live forever or maybe i never thought about dying. ive been leaning on my faith in christ to clear my head of things i cant control and enjoy the time i have and all that he has provided me . we cant do anything unless god is willing, he's in control and we have to let him do his thing living the best life we can to serve him. keep your head up brother
valuable message my friend…few people realize the huge impact on mental health of the more recent global “pandemic”, and ensuing chaos that accompanies it…it’s no more comforting to know that it is an orchestrated operation, but it is…what i’ve found is that the fear of unknowns are the most debilitating…this is why we must drop the fear, and live life to the fullest with the idea that we control what we allow to occupy our minds …easier said then done, but what we must work towards…in the meantime, im biking about 35 miles a day, and jumping on my moto and blowing around some country roads every chance i get…it does make the darker days a lot brighter…hope to see you out there getting it buddy!
Appreciate your honesty and transparency. Depression effects many who may not even put a finger on what's going on. I know it's been in my head for a while, but I keep working on it. Thank you.
Glad to hear you are doing better. Life is full of ups and downs, that's for sure! No matter how low I have gotten I just keep looking onward and upward!
Good video Bro, you also gotta remember the people who love you that your gonna hurt if you decide to hurt yourself too! It's not just about you, it's about the ones who care & depend upon you as well. Those are the ones who are affected the most!
This is really cool, bro - I love hearing about what people are actually going through and not just the “yeah! I’m doing good!” kinda replies you usually get from people. I’m actually starting a second channel I’m gonna call All For Your Good that gonna focus on how everything in life - the good and the bad - can serve you if you let it. I’ve been through the worst year of my life this year, and it’s taught me some PIVOTAL lessons about what life is all about. My nephew was killed on Mothers Day and it’s affected me, my wife, our 3 kids, and my extended family to no end. But, I’ve been able to experience the literally ENDLESS love God has for us, and just how far He goes to show us He’s there for all of it. I love that you said “you just gotta keep going and there’s light at the end of the tunnel”. That is so profoundly true, man! I’ve found that taking the first step toward happiness is always the hardest one, but then the momentum comes and people will rally around you. Keep riding. Keep fighting. Every day matters. Every life matters. You’re one of my heroes, bro! You and Jackie rule!
Kudos for talking openly about this rather common issue! 💪I feel like that sometimes. Learning to say no to people sometimes helps a lot. Everyone needs some personal time. For sports, sleeping, wrenching, or just to fuck around, whatever flows your boat. Can't save the world and please everyone all the time. Cool bike btw!
you've inspired me man, thanks for sharing! I just gotta keep going too, I know it'll get better. never want to make a permanent decision from a temporary feeling. there's always something or someone to live for. happy you're still making videos love watching you shred!!
Jon I will share with you what works for me when I’m in a rut after dealing with depression for 18 years it’s something that will never go away at least for myself it seems but can you learn how to pull yourself out of those ruts into a better headspace and what I found works for me is that nothing I do for myself will make me feel any better no matter how good whatever it is I’m doing, what pulls me out is doing something for someone else that makes them happy whether it’s a complete stranger a friend or family just look to do some random act of kindness for someone else that will make there day and I find that gives me the most joy and pulls me out of the rut when you get that feeling of knowing you made a difference to someone else’s life today in a positive way, I think it’s called selflessness you will be surprised how rewarding it can be for healing your soul and putting you in a better place. Long post but just a appreciation part here, I came across your channel about a week ago when I was looking at buying a new motorcycle after not riding one for 18 years after being involved in a motorcycle accident that killed my bf you’ve given me inspiration to get back out in the world an buying my first bike since so I’m picking up a 2000 fxdx in week when I get home from work it’s gonna be another healing chapter in my mental state I think it’s going to be very beneficial too for me so thank you brother, stay strong 🤙
Yo! Thanks for sharing. I've also found this to be very helpful (selflessness/helping others). It really puts things in perspective seeing the suffering others are going through. I appreciate the comment and support. Keep me posted on your riding journey! 💯🤙
Thanks for posting this Jon ! I've struggled with the same thoughts, guilt for feeling bad, and a similar high functioning facade to keep it under wraps. Depression isn't rational, meds, supplements, and a hobby / passion have helped immensely, but still have them days... Really nice to see you post again !
I feel you brother. Have felt the same struggle. Reading the Book of Deuteronomy and how the Israelites struggled to follow god through the wilderness humbled me to seek wisdom. It’s been a tremendous help.
i go through the same shit dude! 16+ years active duty Air Force (Pushing for 20) and im on 100mg Zoloft everyday! feel good, most days. Still have a couple dark days a month, but damnit i love motorcycles! Life ain't TOO bad either. lol
hey man! love the vids! just got a sportster and ima start stunt riding her soon enough. i was curious about what license tag kit you had on your sportser. I currently have the side one and i wanna look into getting the one flushed on the fender like yours to clean it up! any info would be great! also keep up the great content...been watching you for a long time now!
Great to see you back on 2s, Jon! Yep, depression hits us all from time to time - but realizing that "this too shall pass" keeps us going, right? I find that riding my motorcycles and recording a vlog, just puts a smile on my face and changes my whole mood! So I'm really glad you took the Sporty for a ride :D
Hey Jon as someome who owned both a T100 air-cooled black and a cb1100 how do you compare the two? I felt like the cb1100 was a mich better bike with insane build quality but I miss the t100 more. How do you feel?
I dabbled in it last year. I had an absolute blast and was really enjoying it. Unfortunately, I found myself torn between bjj and mountain biking (didn't have the time to pursue both). I stuck with mountain biking but hope to return to bjj at some point in the future. 💯🤙
You shouldn't self-diagnose. Try seeking professional help sometime. I suffer from anxiety, and until I saw a professional, I thought I had depression. The symptoms can be very similar. One thing that always helps me, that is always there, is my motorcycle and my love for motorcycles. Have a good trip and ride safely. Buen video, amigo.
Having hope is the mindset that can hold you up in all of life's problems and give you zeal in life. The greatest of hopes in the world comes from believing in Christ for the promise of having all your sins forgiven and having eternal life in a far better world. God is good, his precepts protect us from folly, regret and gives us a world view that keeps our minds looking forward and away from fatalism. Today is Christmas 2023, a day to remember that God loves His creation and wants the best for humankind. Good video, thanks for opening up, but your life is not over, and you will need help from above, because we cannot do it on our own.
I'm glad you're still around and still have the Sportster.

I still think you should hold on to that Dyna. Good talk.

As a man I think we all go through at some point. I know I have been there before. Side note flip those mirrors on that sporty.

Hmmm...both rad bikes. I like the character more of the t100 but the cb1100 has the ability to rip wheelies and has potential for really cool builds.
Do jiujitsu bro. Saved me. God bless

Get another Hobby. Go fishing or take your kids and do more things with them. Back off sweets and caffeine. Are you OCD?
Not ocd as far as I'm aware. Always good getting out with the kids. 💯🤙
Supermotos are the most well rounded all in one type bikes in my opinion.
Agreed! 💯🤙
