Rev 2 is an amazing workhorse, I just hate that I am always patch surfing trying to find usable factory patches. Just bought this and am looking forwards to making so music that needs to be made.

Would love to know your decision and reasoning. Never got to play a peak and was originally considering the same two synths. I was immediately enamored with the rev 2 upon playing one and just bought it on the spot so never played a peak.
Novation peak its a great workhorse but its not a substitute for analog polyphonic synth. Now i have a very versatile digital poly and more narrowed analog poly. For me is a best dicision
@@raskinlex thanks for the answer. It is always fun to see what other people decide. Even though it sounded great, I didn’t love the OB6. There are so many incredible instruments available that everyone finds their own ideal setup.
@@halcyonwinds1970 i love bright sound oscillators of sequential synths and prefere theis raw sound to dark novation sound. I really wanted this type of bright sound . This combo of Ob6 and Peak gave me this DSI brightness and versatility of Peak , wavetables its a nice bonus, and great effects . But if i was limited to one synth i think i would choose a Rev 2 because it sitts in sweetspot of analog sound and versatility . But in Rev 2 you have some restrictions one fx per layer. for my test not the best filter with narrow sweetspot but I really liked their oscillators even they DCO with a little beat work with 4 lfo and and sequencer that can be a modulation source you can achieve great results
Exellent pack , i'm actually scratching my head trying to figured out what main synth (workhorse) to get , take / Rev 2 / or a good ol virus polar , any advise would be cool ;)
All 3 very different , polar i advise against clunky software not tight sync, i would go rev2 or take5, rev2 can layer sounds but take 5 aounds warmer.
@@alphacodesynth Thks , i also have an occasion on the prophet 12 desktop .... the rev 2 was my first pick but one fx only made me think , i also heard that the reverb in the take 5 is better ...., Does the take 5 has this poan spread features as well ? Really enjoying your packs !!! really diverse , from calssics sounds to more complex stuff ...watching some of your packs on synths i don't even have lol
I still have not decided if to go on a rev2 or take5. Please can you write here everything you think and feel about differences? Ok, rev2 has more about sound design possibilities… but what about how they sound?
I would go for Take 5, it has Vco's and sounds a lot thicker and warm. But rev2 has the dual mode with 2 different sounds you can play , it really comes to what ia important. You can do a lot more sounds on the Take 5
I’ve found some interests to rev2 16 voices because it seems layering can create more movement in the sound, but you wrote the opposite 🙂 I produce downtempo organic balearic chillout music and look for not agressive harsh hard punch sounds and presets. Very luscious pads, arp, plucks and keys. Need that warm soft vintage presence. You would say T5 would be a “better” and proper choice? Ah, it will be my first analog poly synth and look something not so complicate to program/modify presets (like your top presets). Thank you!
@@lova_officialmusic2006 well its really difficult to say, take 5 have only 5 voices so long stereo pads are more a thing on a rev2. But take 5 will sound a lot beefier and warmer.
@@alphacodesynth ok! maybe just using both i could understand what i do prefer. I like that huge pads on a 16voices. I can feel anyway warm sound on it. And even if i am not a 8 hands keyboard player, I can exploit voices using midi piano roll. Can prophet 6 replace T5 + rev2 (except the layer feature)? And do T5 and rev2 stay fine together?
@@alphacodesynth I've heard the preset of your summit/peak and propet rev2 and it's fantastic. Actually, I'm thinking about which one to buy. I want dreamy and trendy sounds like tame impala, pink floyd, and beach house(i like sounds like psychedelic rock). What do you think which is better?
Absolutely stellar patches, I listened to the whole 17 minutes at work and was really impressed. Hats off to the programmer!
These are by far the best Rev2 patches I have ever heard!! Wow!! Buying right now!!!
Your patches sound better than most of the others that have been demonstrated.
Thank you

rev2 doesn't get enough love imo
At first I didn't know whether to buy novation peak or sequential rev 2 not. In the end I bought both. Now don't know which one to sell🤔

@ZozillaThaGreat yes Take5 does have Pan spread but its in the Mod matrix so need to set it up.

I see ya have also the peak , if ya had to pick one ? (Take 5 / peak /.Rev 2 ) ?

Are you using only the onboard effects in these sounds or are you using external effects?
Only on board effects
How long did it take you to learn how to play

How did you get the take 5 to control the rev 2?
Midi
Do you just put in the midi cable or is there more to process?
@@adamcartright223 yes you connect midi out from Take 5 to midi in ,in the tev2 and use the rev2 outputs
Q Are these patches pre-assigned to a certain user bank?
Yes user bank 4
Just use laser mammoth and put them where you want, much easier patch management
we are not hearing the take 5 at all correct?
of course not , take 5 is only controling the Rev2.
what you using,16voice or 8voice?
16v but presets are mad to be compatible with both 8 and 16 voice version.
