Thanks for doing such a detailed review. I'm looking for my 1st robot vac and I learned a lot from your review. I especially liked how you showed the map editing features.
Thank you, I appreciate the comment.
This video is so comprehensive! Thank you. I just bought one and setting it up seemed daunting. You made it look easy and... Fun.
I'm glad it helped.
seriously. excellent detail, well put together, honest, 10/10.
Thanks for the full review!
Thanks for the video. We’ve been using Dustin since October and aside from a few hiccups, we have been enjoying him. Would like to see updated rubber rollers and a camera for better object avoidance with future iterations though.
Really appreciate it!Very helpful video
Thanks for this detailed review. I'm thinking of putting this upstairs so the stair error is definitely a concern. The no-sweep zone is the last resort I guess.
Just ordered one from Best Buy, it’s on sell today for $258. First robot vacuum so hopefully my wife likes it
She will, in very happy with mine.
I just got it too. Navy doesn't look bad but the black one is still $1099 so I'll be okay with the Navy.
I think the navy is cool. Can’t wait to get mine.
Same! Mine gets here tomorrow.
@@oakraider80Yesterday the black one was 250 and the navy was full price so I snagged one.
Excellent video and you saved me hours of headaches. I just returned an Irobot Roomba I3+ because the vacuum emptying sensor problem had a problem. I have one of these on order. Thank you.
Just got one ordered from Sam's Club, on a promotion for *$219 until June 2, 2024*.. I thought that was a heck of a deal being $380 off their list price.
same here
They are always on huge markdowns. Always.
You actually bought the regular price, This is a $200 vacuum
@@gamatoutsikos I'm satisfied for 200
Best Buy has some super good deals right now, you can get one that usually costs 1000 dollars for 220.
Can we get more of a short video on the mopping side from Dustin? Dustin didn't do that great of mopping in my opinion. Thanks for the great video. I hope that Bobsweep update their support page for the Dustin Ultra. Need to know what to do with the mopping.
It's there, I went to great lengths to make timestamps in the video since it was so long. The mopping starts at 41:15. The feature needs some work.
I ordered one as well Best Buy deal of the day for 258. Let’s see. I’m nervous since they were able to mark it down so much and it’s not even an old model.
Thanks for the video, it was helpful
You're welcome!
Great review. I got mine this week and I’m running some tests on it. It’s not able to do my whole floor upstairs (higher power level) and it goes to its dock, and after it’s charged, doesn’t go back to work from what it had left, simple stays at the dock. If a press the button to start running it goes clean all the way around again. I also noticed every time I run a new cleaning it does a different route, there is no consistency even the pattern on the floor. Once I’m done with the second floor I’ll be moving it to the first floor and test all the features again including if it’s able to save the two distinct maps.
I had that happen one time and I called support and they told me that I would need to create 2 schedules to cover the cleaning of the floor. My other vacs have always gone back out and finished the job after they recharged. I was told they would bring that up with the software team. I would suggest that you report it also so they continue to work on it. The vac should be able to do the whole floor and it needed, recharge and finish the job.
I’ll try it. To be honest I never schedule it, bc I never know what is on the floor and I might not be able to grab it.
Thank you.
I’ll be in touch!
@@raquelbaiocoruy6712 Today, on my schedule, Dustin went crazy. He did not use the active map and recreated his own map. It lost it's home direction and almost ran out of charge before I put it on his base. It did not evacuate the dust chamber, I had to do it manually. I put the good map active and will try tomorrow to see if it will work. Never had it do that before.
Thank you so much for the review. I was planning to buy from Best Buy for the great deal, mop is very important to me, I guess I will pass
Hey did you turn on edge detection? It’s a little switch in the app that will keep it from falling down the stairs. If you need help getting to it I’ll be glad to walk to through it.
Yes I did, thank you for the comment.
Yeah you know I’ve never understood why these things are always on like 70 or 80% markdown through Best Buy but this is the most expensive version I’ve seen on sale so I just broke down and bought it also
How you like it?
@@andymueller3819 I have only been using it for four days, but I have it set up to clean every day at 10 and I’d say it’s doing pretty darn good job, and to this point very satisfied. It’s actually on sale at Best Buy again right now for the same price like 258 for the black one
Yeah how is it?
How long have you had yours? How long does it take to clean your home what’s the running time before it needs to charge?
I've had it since the beginning of August. There are variables that make the running time change. I usually run in the vac in high mode. It cleans my upstairs in 51 minutes and it says it cleaned 524 sq ft.
The app has an option under cleaning preference that you can toggle on to get him to finish cleaning if he has to recharge before finishing. If you toggle on "auto resume" he should go back out and finish the job. Mine does anyway. If your app doesn't have that option, it may need to be updated again.
Thanks, they added that feature in an update. It wasn't there when I did the video. I was one of the early adopters. I have that set now. Thank you for the comment.
It may be that your floor isnt level in some spots for the mop.
How many replacement bags does one receive with the product? I read where they send out free bags and if so, how many? Also, where does one buy when replacing? Thanks in advance.
The vac comes with 2 bags. I would check with Bobsweep about replacement bags, I've never received free bags.
Ya just did the same thing it’s on sale less then $300. Seems too good to be true but going to buy it anyway. 🎉 Hope it’s as good as everyone says.
I'm happy with mine
Thanks. Good video. Same situation and I'm considering the best buy deal. My house is 2/3 carpet. Can anyone say how it does cleaning carpet?
It does seem cleaning carpet and tile or wood.
This thing would probably have to run over the same area multiple times to get it clean, and even then it can't properly clean the pad... so you have to replace or wash it constantly ..
Did you ever end up getting Dustin to return home to charge while in mopping feature? Vacuum is perfect. Everyone has problems w/ mop. Other companies' mops work. Hopefully just needs update
I have not used the mopping feather since I did the review. He does my upstairs which is all carpet.
Do you recommend? I see it for Black Friday at $258??
Yes
Can you post the link to Dustin Ultra? I can't seem to find this model. I do see bObsweep's model Dustin on Home Depot. Thanks.

I am going to buy the first robot vacuum cleaner in my life, do you recommend this one?
I've had 3 robot vacs so far. After using it for 9 months, it does have some quarks. It get's lost occasionally and just roams around. The fix it to make one of the saved maps active. I recommend having 3 maps to fall back on. That is one of the best features. I would not use it for mopping floors and it does work well on wooden and carpeted floors. I like the dust bin emptying feature as the vac I use on my first floor I have to remember to empty the dust bin. So would I recommend it? Yes, but just know that it's not perfect and it does have flaws. But it does do a good job cleaning.
Got mine on the 27th. Was fine sweeping. Tried mopping today for the 1st time, & it kept getting stuck even on nothing. Any recommendations,
Call their support, they are good.
@@Batman825 I like how yours went in straight lines even when mopping. It stopped 9×. After hard reset it didn't stop, but took forever & drained from about 50%. & never made it home to charge. Although I might have started it somewhere else. I tried the sensory test before reset w/ white cardboard. But seems like only 1 sensor went off. Maybe from liquid spilling when I first started. Thanks
@@Batman825 just wrote them in app. Did 2 hard resets. Sweeping is fine, but mop sits real slow & doesn't go home unless hard reset. I hope I don't have to take it back or all kinds of trouble
Does it vacuum and mop at the same time?
The software gives you that choice so I guess it does.
My question is, how is it with pet hair?
I don’t know, I don’t have a pet.
@@Batman825thanks
@@josephromano3618I have two bully mixes. Yes it does great with pet hair.
works well with pet hair main reason why I purchased it.
How is it after a few months? Any issues?
Good question. I've been thinking of doing a follow up video after 6 months. I've had a few issues with Dustin. The main one seems to be that he gets lost. Somehow he does not follow that current map and just roams around cleaning without any plan and eventually runs out of battey since he can't find the charging station. I usually have extra maps so I delete the current active map and reactivate another one. That is one nice feature of the software. You can save maps and then you don't have to have him remap the floor. You can usually tell when he's run amock because the current map looks terrible. Another issue is battery life. He runs low and has to return to the charging station without completing the job. I do run the vac on high sucking power. Instead of recharging and returning to clean the rest of the rooms it never does. All the other vacs that I have used will do this. I'm going to create 2 schedules now and see if that will work. I'll clean 4 rooms in the morning and 4 in the afternoon. I don't think I should have to do this. Those are my main issues right now.
Ah. Does the app automatically update the firmware on the robot? The issue sounds like it's firmware.
On high suction, what's the average run time? And about how much area does it cover?
@@PatrickDG It does do updates, however, I have only had 1 since I got it in August. On high it runs about 50 minutes and does 475 sq ft.
@@Batman825 ok good to know. I just ordered this one for 245 at home Depot
Going to compare it with another one from Amazon.
Anyways, thanks for your review! I'm glad you put those time stamps on lol.
@@Batman825 Please do a follow up I loved this review
Great Video, its $1,499.00 / Canada at Home Depot. not going to buy since everyone is getting it for 300usd
Nah don't not worth spending so much on it. The price is around $250 but really should be the regular price.
Anyone find replacement bags that would work? $9 a bag from the site is a little much.
They sent us a review link for free bags.
Yeah mine have shipped already!
@@fmap4life How to get those free bags?
Thank you. We love your video. How could i contact you? We have some products for test.
