Thanks for the warning! I am completely technically incompetent, yet still somehow overconfident in my ability. Instead of taking this apart and getting frustrated and throwing away the pieces after they sit on my workbench for two months,, I’ll just take it to my repair guy. Cheers!

I have repaired many of these and they are not hard to fix. They are a very good low cost table. The lamps must be of a certain type for the stop and
speed control buttons to work correctly. To determine this problem do NOT use a screwdriver, just lick your finger and touch the buttons. If they react
correctly it''s the lamps that are not the correct type.
Also use a spot of thick grease on the tip of the screwdriver to hold the bottom screws to the tip of the driver and go in straight down and there wont
be a problem putting the bottom on.
I guess that just about anything becomes easy with repetition, and as I have gone through a bunch of these over the years I think they are a great value
    and overlooked.

Wow! This is the first YT video I’ve started to watch where the creator said, basically, ‘don’t watch this’ right up front. Bold move, dude!

Haha...you'd be surprised at some comments I need to hide from the channel from folks that get upset when I don't do something 'their way' or lose my cool :)

I’ve always been intrigued by these, as I’ve seen several on FBM at reasonable prices, but they looked like trouble.

Thanks for the video. Nice find. I'm the original owner of a Philips 212 and mine still works perfectly.
FYI, the tonearm counter-weight is on backwards. 😊

I’ll have to fix that today…it still hasn’t sold. Can’t give it away :)

You're making things unnecessarily difficult for yourself. simply put the dust cover in place and turn the entire turntable upside down

Thanks for the video on the Phillips 212. Looking forward to seeing how it progresses. About a year ago I restored a 212. Here is a link to my video. ua-cam.com/video/YSbBPVJMAMQ/v-deo.html

@@millervintagehifi3034 I'm enjoying watching your series. It's fun to see someone else battling the same issues that I had. Looking forward to part 3.
