I still have mine I bought in the late 70's. Still mint condition. Mine is a bit odd because it has all red LEDs. Maybe for the US market. Put a Stanton 681EEE cartridge on it.
There were two versions of GA 312. You just happen to have the never one, modified to red LEDs. Older ones had 6V bulbs. ua-cam.com/video/-3d7pi5-EXQ/v-deo.html
i just got mine on ebay...and I can't get the stylus to hover above the record....I'm adjusting the knob in the back of the stylus but it's almost like it's too heavy.
Not Shure the GP400 series were developed in the Netherlands by Philips he MM cartridge was ac Dutcch invention, invented by a former Philips technician
On my GA312 I changed the original GP400 cartridge for a Pickering XV15-400e some 40 years ago. By now the 400e stylus has been replaced 2 times. (I 've got one spare stylus left over for the rest of my life...😊). The original GP400 spherical stylus would wear out within 3...4 years, these didn't survive 1500+ hours playing time, apart from yielding a scratchy ticking sound starting from day 1 on.
Just decided to resurrect my 312, but hit a minor problem: switch on, nothing happens. I found that power reaches the primary coil of the internal transformer, but could measure no output from the secondary one; so presumably there's a break in the coils. So, replace it. But what SHOULD the output voltage be? 9v AC, 12, 20... what? Only when I know that can I hunt around for a new transformer. Can anyone help please?
We had one during the 1970s always played so beautifully & those soft touch sensors were state of the art at the time. ❤️
We had the same TT in 1978 , great sound , by the way PF is a fantastic choice for this player.... Thanks for sharing...
I have this turntable. It's a Black aluminium with smoked dust cover. Guess it's a brazilian only model, never seen one anywhere else

@@D-Ogi - auto lift of the tone arm on stop. Kludgey little mechanism with an electro coil. The 212 is actually more reliable because of that.

@@YesterYearAudio Thanks but I'd already seen that page and still do not find reference to the internal voltage used. Do you know it?
@@jimdavies6764 I don't unfortunately. So you downloaded the service manual? I believe what you are looking for is on page 4.
