I applaud his brother & anyone else who is open about the abuse they suffer, only by strong people coming forward will others know about these sick abusive individuals.
I hope the next step is for the perpetrators to receive appropriate punishment & for others to be educated so able to prevent abuse in the future.

I live in the middle of here.. literally my street . Also a woman called Malka leifa who abused 3 sister & escaped to Israel & pretended to be mental . She was caught out shopping on camera & now deemed fit to be extradited back to Melbourne . Very closed community .
Yes I remember that story! Wicked woman who all of a sudden played a mental act. Brave sisters though!
I saw that story, unbelievable a Rabbi paid for a plane ticket to get that teacher out of the country. He said he had no idea what had happened. She's in prison where she belongs.
I also lived in chabad community in Melbourne and even worked in the yeshiva college.

These child survivors of abuse who speak out are so very brave when speaking out connects them back to childhood and those awful feelings as a child.
There is nothing lower than a person who harms a child in the name of religion, every kid feels safe in a place of worship and it’s unforgivable for such a monster to go unpunished.
So sad that this happens in all religions. I have a deep respect for you and what you have done to protect other children and I hope all of the victims learn to never feel shame for what was done to them.

Does this community seriously expect victims to just shut their mouth and deal with it, and allow these pigs to get away with what they did? I think Manny was wrong to be so understanding with an child abuser. Hayman was abused too, he should have sought psicol0gical help, and not inflict his abhorrant behaviour to other children. Nevertheless he seemed not to have suffered the negative sequels that his victims felt. Parents be always alert with those who are in contact with your sons and daughters.
While I'm uncomfortable with Manny's mother's reaction to things, there's earlier documentaries on this story which may explain in more depth the 'sin' they felt they were committing by speaking of issues outside of the community, which are probably deeply connected to a post-holocaust view centered around building and blindly protecting their community
She seems like she based her personnality on being part of the community and that she can't be something else. It's a way to be quite self involved. She can't accept change.
No allegiance to church, synagogue, mosque or state should take precedence over the protection of a child.

I believe it may be statistically more common in the catholic community unfortunately. Celibacy is an issue for many reasons. SA happens in all human societies, secular and non secular. Where people are married, where people are celibate. Evetywhere sadly. We have to face it and fight it, be it in secular or religious communities. People want to believe it won't happen in their community because they are such or such religion, culture etc... But it's everywhere. It's a human kind issue!!🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
Celibacy does play a role, which is why it's more common in the Catholic Church than anywhere else.
@@LibbySlaughter101 Maybe but I think it happens (almost?) just as much in other mainstream churches (they are now finding out) and also in Jehaovah Witnesses (recent scandal), AMish (where it is still WEll hidden & covered up). I grew up in 2x2 "the truth" religion and there is currently huge CSA scandal in that relgion with 500+ abusers have been named & given to CSI working on the cases. % is probably very similar to Catholic religion. Their "workers"/preachers are supposed to be celebate also (but recently found out some of been molesting children & other were having affairs with members some which were married). The being celebate is not not the main cause.
That is why I don't believe in any not one religious sect

Religion does not automatically mean child abuse!!! Anywhere there are human beings there will be a risk of this happening, it just makes it so much worse when it is done in an environment where our behaviour should be the best it can be or where people should be able to go for help or to feel secure and safe or be upbuilt spiritually.

The first story of the Torah deals with Adam sinning. If Adam just fessed up to his misstep and straight away asked for forgiveness oh what a difference it would have made. The coverup is ALWAYS worse than the actual sin. Just acknowledge the mistake, make amends and move on as best as possible.
