You can tell a lot of quality and care are put into these videos. I remember one point in time many people were upset by the lack of uploads, but I'd rather wait a while for a good video instead of being given many mediocre ones.

The idea behind 3000 being thaumiel is interesting. By altering or confusing the memories of scps could be a cool way to stop the world ending ones.

Even the mere existence of Thaumiel-class objects is classified at the highest levels of the Foundation and their locations, functions, and current status are known to few Foundation personnel outside of the O5 Council.

The Y-909 compound is what is used to make amnestics, and the Foundation relies heavily on amnestics to keep their operations secret.
This is why it is Thaumiel, as it helps the Foundation contain anomalies, and help in other ways. However, this does not mean the anomaly is benevolent, but rather it can be used to aid Foundation causes.
And about that eel/snake debate? Its name on the wiki, Anantashesha, is in reference to a Hindu Devine being, a massive serpentine entity dubbed the king of serpents/nagas who the god Vishnu rests upon, and Anantashesha is said to be all that will remain at the end of the universe.
