I got my first puppy as a gift. When we broke up, she hinted that she wanted to see him "once in awhile" so I immediately wired the full amount to her and told her to never see him again. I wasn't going to have this lingering over my head for the next decade. More often than not when it's a high value present paid for initially, they automatically think they have a say in it even though it was a "gift."
All the subsequent expenses to raise him thereafter was probably over a hundred folds. Anyway, it was still about the money after all. Cause there was zero fight or resistance to insist on seeing him for holidays and whatnot. Co-parenting my ass. My dog lived happily ever after with me. End of story. They only recognize 1 true alpha owner throughout their entire short lives. Everyone else is just chopped liver 😂
