Great recipes all around. I especially like your mortar and pestle (goudi). Mine looks identical, it came with my grandparents from Trapezunta (Pontos), been in the family for hundreds of years, and still in use today.
Dimitra, having dinner guests today and I was going to go and buy dessert until I saw your post! I had everything on hand so I decided to make your recipe for samali......looks like it turned out pretty good so I can't wait to serve it. Also, I' am so sure you posted a recipe for "fingers " ( Another Greek dessert ) but now I can't seem to find the post???? Please help. Like fe your recipes and look forward to your posts. 👍😘
I love cinnamon but in this recipe, it might compete with the delicate rose flavoring. If you try it, let me know how it turns out :) I would dust some on a slice of the samali cake after it's ready to test the flavor compatibility.
I never knew yogurt is included in SAMALI and I grew up eating it at school for many many years... Unless, if this is a deferend version of the Greek Samali I grew up with...
There are 2 versions of this cake. This one (with the yogurt and a "nistisimo" (for lent) version without any dairy. I'll share that one as soon as I can :)
@@michellelloyd6256 Awww, thanks so much!! For now, this is my show.haha! Do you know anyone in the tv world? All the best and thank you for being here!

I love this, with some ice cream
Υπέροχο
I’ve never heard of this before so it’s definitely worth trying. How about cinnamon since it goes well with everything?

Not anymore sad to say. I am a retired chef. But i always tell everyone about your channel
You should apply for all the food network challenges. That is one way to get someone's attention
I don’t think this is a “Greek” dessert. lol
if its greek dish WHY does it have a Turkish name 😆
Cause you stole it and changed the names lol like you did with everything else. Smyrna is now Izmir. Dumass
imagine thinking it has a turkey name LMAO🤣
