I just got the slimline acoustic/electric concert uke. It does project nicely for a shallow body! Sounds great, and has a WIDE 38mm nut which makes D chords so much easier to play! The action is under 2mm at the 12th and I sanded the nut down to make it even more playable. Stock nut is about 0.6mm too high. Frets are mostly level with the slightest rock at the 6th fret, but not enough to be a problem. Intonation is VERY GOOD! Notes stay on target all the way up the fretboard! One dislike is the pickup…it’s NOISY! A LOT of buzz and hum most likely due to picking up the energy from the 2 button batteries. I have a noise gate on order which I think will solve that problem. I also immediately removed the Aquila strings because I hate their sound. They can make even the most expensive uke sound like a plasticky cheap toy. My go-to strings are Worth Browns….they are nothing short of amazing strings! I don’t know of any other string that sounds richer. All in all for my first Lanakai, I like it! Very comfortable to play!
the straps buttons on the Lanikai Quilted Maple are not very good, they loosen easily when you remove the strap but the ukulele is quite good outside of that detail. I have the purple concert one.
You can use a very small amount of blue 242 by loctite on your threads on that button. Its removable and is harmless to the wood inside but keeps the button tight. 👌
My first uke was a mahogany laminate concert tuna uke. Do they still make tuna ukes? Tried a wound low g and never liked the sound. Gave it some love recently with aquila reds and unwound low g. Much better.
Thanks for the love to Lanikai. I own an ACS-T which is beautiful. Solid acacia in a tenor size. For under $450 and a solid instrument, great buy.
I have the quilted maple in Purple. I love it. I looks stunning and it sounds wonderful.
They all project there sound well. The Ziricote was my favourite. Thanks 🙏
I have the ZR-CEC. It plays light and sounds sharp. I'm very pleased with it! Audrey from the Netherlands.
Just ordered the MAP pineapple soprano. Looking forward to jamming with it!
I have Lanikai MA - C (concert) I love it so much. It is my very first ukulele.
I have MA-S and MA-T. These are my favorites! Easy to play and nice sound.
I have the Flame Maple FM Concert and the Quilted maple blue tenor - great ukes! I switched to the quilted maple tenor as i prefer the tenor size!
The 2 beginning used are fun to play. Just getting my groove on the uke.
The travel tenor and the guitarlele are cool!
