I used to do something very similar, but using a long-jump Krait Phantom and Flak. Worked like a champ. Now, with raw mission rewards, I don't even need to make the trip.
It is even easier with a Fleet Carrier, as you can restock limpits really easily :) I use a python with Flak Launchers, doesn't need all of the light weight or jump range stuff as the fleet carrier can jump to the planet so the 300,000ls is not an issue etc...
Here is why the range doesn’t matter. The materials are under 1000 light years from buble. The 2 light years is 3% difference which translates into 1 extra jump for ever 33 jumps. 1000 light years are about 13 jumps at 80 LY. Of course in reality it matters even less because stars are not spaced exactly 84 light years apart. So most of the time your jumps will be the same regardless of 84 or 82 range.
I prefer flak cannons as well. Can fire from quite far away and don't damage your own ship. lol. I also carry dumb fire missiles, just to take pot shots at the single or double trees.

That’s what I use as well. Although last time I just took the carrier so shooting fish in a barrel.

totally agree, i use my carrier like that and a Krait
Not seen the mine launcher used for this before, but I thought you were doing just fine with the last video.

ooopsie there goes the shield 😀
awesome setup! but for me, i prefer the flak cannon - it makes more fun to shoot those fireworks 😀 🎆
