Efren "Bata" Reyes is accepted by most everyone in the game as the greatest player all around player of our time. Straight Pool might not be his best game, but he is still the GOAT.
CJ Wiley had just taken up Straight Pool, but he was learning the intricacies pretty quickly.

I mean I get it, Efren is fun to watch but it does get silly.
It's funny because Philippinos think American announcers are biased against eften. They are an overly sensitive bunch.

When is safety allowed and when not?
Just a manner of saying among referees in the U.S. Same rule as in all pool games: cue ball needs to contact an object ball, then an object ball has to be pocketed or contact a cushion.
There's a reason we don't do this anymore. It's redundant and makes the ref feel like he's doing something. It's either a foul or not.
I think it's more like saying foul, or not a foul.

14.1 has never been one of Efren's specialties. I wouldn't brag about beating him.

This is one of the first championship matches where they had people playing on both sides of the match. This is definitely a distraction and it usually gets to one player more than the other. It didn't seem to bother either one of these road runners.
C.J. chokes up on his stick more than any other player.
I am at about 1:20 and Danny says CJ had a dead combination. It was not a dead combination. Do not like the constant criticisms while these players are running racks. However, in the end...they both sucked.
C.J. got lucky......lol.
