The thing about Scott Frost and Jeremy Jones is they stay engaged and enthusiastic even during what many people would consider the boring parts of the game. Other commentators feel like they need to tell stories or something to keep people entertained during those up table games.
@@dbmccoy12People who are watching these matches are many times trying to improve their own game. Listening to Commentary like Scott's helps condense information and gain insight for what would normally take a lifetime if ever to learn. If you ever get to play Scott whoever you are i would love to watch u regret not learning by judging him for talking too much.
The perfect game for Efren to play these days. He doesn't need a big break shot, and he can use all of his other skills. He should do well in straight pool also.
Scott is almost the only commentator I HAVE to watch with the volume on, mute is not an option. Jesus loves you Scott, seek the Lord while He may be found - Much love✊
For years it is just now that I really had watch Efren's game and appreciate pool game. Proud of him. Still playing at his age and seems just he's just enjoying his passion
I like the commentator. He is very knowledgeable about 1 pocket. Of course he can’t know what the shooter sees, but he is good at giving the options the shooter is considering.
Most of us who listen to this guy don't like the fact he call every shot and talk through the match that ok for people who don't know shit about pool.😂
Scott - excellent commentary. I've picked on Jeremy Jones in the past - especially with regards to the Mosconi cup - but his pool knowledge is really quite incredible and deserves to be acknowledged. I am finding your knowledge of one pocket to be at that very high level. And inside tips like @01:08:55 add a certain level of human reality to things.
You're too humble, no need to be, you're a great commentator. Calm, knowledgeable, and articulate so we dudes and dudettes who don't have English as our native lingo still easily understand you👌
45:47 = I would've seriously considered playing a carom off of the 12 ball into the 8 and 9 ball combo with a touch of right english. It would've been easier to hit that combo with a fuller hit and with less force, plus I think maybe would've been easier to end up with a shot on the 8. Obviously I wasn't at the table, but think it was a better option. More great commentary Frost 💪
Yes, Oi was playing by the rule that when both players owe a ball they cancel each other out. Efren was unaware and proceeded to spot the ball he thought he owed. So Efren was spotting Naoyuki 9-8 that game :)
At the 8:00 mark where Oi was in the stack and kicked into Efren's corner and scratched i was looking at maybe kicking 2 rails into his own corner at the back of the 6 ball, pushing the 6 into the stack to prevent a return bank and running the cue ball toward Efren's pocket. Very difficult shot I'm sure, and maybe not even possible depending on the angle we can't see from the camera, but it looked like a better option than just taking a foul in the corner if you could move the 6 away even if you didn't get a rail and fouled. Any thoughts on that railbirds or Scott Frost?
Completely agree. This is all we have to work with, unfortunately. Next year at DCC we should be able to setup better camera angles (and multiple cameras per table)
Efren loves chess and 1 pocket requires thinking, strategy and patience, all the same attributes needed to play chess well. Amateur players get impatient and go for shots that loses them the game and it's not fun watching them play 1 pocket but those games do end quicker for the most part.
I think Efren is probably a better bank pool player than his DCC results show in the bank event. He has several top three finishes though he never won. In such a short race in such a large tournament you can be the best player and still lose ten tournaments in a row. I wonder if he has ever matched up with any top bank pool players. I know he went to Chicago for a while and was learning from Freddy the Beard so he must have played a lot of full rack banks there.
IN THE LATE 70's NOBODY WOULD PLAY EFREN IN TOTATION BACK HERE AT HOME SO HE PLAYED 3 CUSHION AND CAROM BILLIARDS, THATS WHY HE IS AN ALL AROUND PLAYER☺
It's a US$20 pool cue bought somewhere in his country or hometown. Now if you check Karl Boyes youtube channel, Efren now plays a EBR pool cue made in japan.
Great narration. I just wish he would explosion the rules a bit in the beginning and moving forward for those of us in love with the game but without much experience and knowledge. Also when narrators predict the moves or list options, at times their words are so technical that some of us don’t benefit from their great input.
Would have been a LOT better commentary if you'd actually said WHICH POCKET each player had, so we knew which pocket each was going for! Even better, as it's only one pocket each, why not put some sort of sticker on the edge of each person's pocket so we knew what was going on? I lost interest because I had no idea what pocket anyone was playing for, so it was just knocking balls around. Chris.
😂😂😂 lmao the commentator should be a mind reader or something lmao he thinks he knows all the players are thinking and then pum nothing that he says happens 😅 is like that friend that we all have that knows it all about every subject 😂 I’m not going to critique lmao 🤣

The analysis of the shot possibilities is superb
Scott's commentary absolutely does not afford a second commentator. His rapid, thorough, and usually accurate, assessments keep me glued to the game.
Thank you. And more certainly thank you for the commentating. I know that aint easy but man yiu have a gift for it
Scott at the top of game. What a pleasure to watch and listen and learn. Bravo !
Scott Frost, the commentator, is articulate and enuctiates every word clearly, no verbal tics, and makes the game more interesting.

I really enjoy Scotts commentary, a lot of knowledge and shot recognition. I learn alot from him while I am learning this infuriating game

The GOAT plays, a legend comments. What more do you want? Thanks!
Watching fr Paranaque City, PH🇵🇭
I like Scott Frost. as a commentator. He is also a pretty decent player himself.

10:22 Efren spotted an extra ball. His foul was canceled out with Oi's. Supposedly he's on 4.
Yes, Oi was playing by the rule that when both players owe a ball they cancel each other out. Efren was unaware and proceeded to spot the ball he thought he owed. So Efren was spotting Naoyuki 9-8 that game :)
Maybe he forgot the elimination of the foul rule.
Wow. Great game!

Wish they would give Scott some better camera views. He knows what he's talking about but he's handcuffed by the angle

Good GRIEF! Effron is so unbelievable! He won all 3 games of one pocket, his apponent dropped 7 balls total! JUST WOW!!
Good match.
The FREEZER DOES A GREAT JOB KEEPING US FROZEN 🥶 😅
Question. What's the purpose of the coins under or on top of the left rail?
When they commit a foul, they lose a ball. If they have none, then they owe one, and use coins to keep track.
Efren Reyes is my favorite player though.
I like that Oi is playing one-pocket.
It is not a game played in Japan.
Scott, your analysis is excellent. Well done. The only flaw is butchering Oi’s name pronunciation throughout: Nah-Oh-Yoo-Key (no syllable emphasis).

What cue and shaft efren Reyes use here?

Why did Efren spot a ball @10:50 if their fouls negated each other? Was that a mistake?
Yes Efren was unaware that they negated each other. So spotting that ball was a mistake.
