- Becoming a pro at MapleStory is like learning another language. As I navigate through the Maple World, I don’t necessarily read everything I come across; I just instinctively know what I’m doing. How do you learn this knowledge, though? First, you have to become comfortable with simply playing the game. In this video guide, I walk you through your first hour of MapleStory while not overcomplicating how to play the game. I’ve seen a lot of people come to MapleStory lately, so I think a video like this will be helpful for a lot of people.

Thank you so much for this video! I just started trying out the game and I was completely lost with a lot of the stuff. This really helped me out a lot with setting up my UI how I want it and which keys are important to bind. As a new player I didnt know if skipping the all the dialog was good or not but it looks like its not really needed since everyone does it. Still trying to get use to the controls and stuff but so far I think I will enjoy the game :)

So many « beginner guides » assume that you know what cubing or mvp lvl 5 or legion means, whereas yours truly is a beginner guide.
I started playing a week ago and I’m enjoying Kinesis, I just got to lvl 100 following a guide but I’m kinda lost on what to do next, the game is very overwhelming and always looking for more infos online kinda breaks my gameplay flow.

@@MapleBinch well my biggest issue right now is understanding the structure of vertical progression as in why and when to go to this region or this boss instance.
It would be very helpful to give us like a progression tree with level brackets and system unlocks/tutorial when we get them.
Like I always see skill matrix, hyperstats, linked skills etc but I have to search for every terms to know what they are.

This video is perfect... Played this game 15 years ago. I think I'm sad that Reboot is where it's all happening after you said you can't trade with other players 😢And levelling looks so fast!?!?!
Trading is basically unnecessary at this point!! Way better not being able to trade than having to pay money to progress like in regular servers….
Those keybinds are crazy, not having interact/harvest on y blows my mind
Hey, thank you so much for this guide. I have a question: Are quests important in this game? Do I need to do quests or some type of quests?
A lot of quests are required to progress in class developments or unlocking bosses beforehand
You don't actually need to pick up anything before you get a pet, just don't loot, it's NBD.
those keybinds, you are scarring those kids for life

I just started playing Maplestory a few days ago. Played for a few hours and I'm in the 200s in terms of level because of Hyper burning and Tera blink. I still don't know how to play the game (before watching this video)
If you put the interact/harvest on Y then it also automatically clicks Yes when skipping through dialogue

Welcome back to MapleStory and thanks for the sub! I think Reboot is way more fun than regular servers for a lot of reasons. The thing that I like the most is the simple methods of progression in Reboot.
@@MapleBinch what do you mean by simple methods? Is there lest upgrading systems?
@@ElleEnd Reboot's gear upgrading systems include: Star Force, Potentials, Flames, and Weapon Souls. Regular server has all of those things AND they have to worry about Scrolling and Bonus Potentials. I prefer to not have to worry about those systems, so that is the main reason why I chose Reboot.
One thing you may want to know, about reboot vs regular servers, is that in reboot trading can't be done and even sharing any gear between your characters is prevented, but as a trade all the gear you drop will be for your class (with some annoying situations like an explorer warrior will be able to drop all warrior weapons no matter which of the three paths you may choose), and most if not all you need to progress will be available for mesos, no pay to progress at all, the cash shop will only sell for real money cosmetics and pet related stuff.
Not needing to scroll your gear also means you have a lot less rng to deal with when upgrading.

i still to this day am used to WASD so i simply rekeybinded me entire set up to where arrow keys are WASD and the missing wasd keys are on my mouse buttons :D come on people this is 2023 we think big brain now

As a person that came back after 15 years of break. Nothing look like it used to. Leveling up is so fast! I cant keep up with the level designed areas to go on specific level 😂😂 like you probably remember us OG players used to do a lot of party related quests/boss runs. Now you can just solo Zakum 😅 a lot of the game feels more solo and lonely that typical mmorps that is social based like old MS was.. my Reboot in EMS feels so empty with Henesys beeing empty because people grind daily bosses and do legion stuff 🤷♀️

im new at this game and i wonder why your charater didnt have the story line quest thing ? when you lv 10 and choose your class
You can see at 13:40 that I have an option to skip the quest since it says that I already did the quest on another character. I chose to skip the quest instead of showing it on the video because I wanted to showcase how to grind mobs, how to navigate to training maps, and how to learn your class mechanics. Every job has a different quest when they are level 10, so I thought it would just be helpful to skip it.
One thing I think is worth mentioning about key binds that you have skipped: normally you can skip most dialogues by keeping the interact/harvest hotkey pressed down, but if there is a dialogue option to accept or decline something, depending on the color of the dialogue window two things can happen: on the brown windows it won't do anything and you will need to use the mouse button to either accept or decline, while on the white windows it will automatically count as a no. However, if your hotkey is "y" you will instead automatically accept/say yes on all those windows, making skipping dialogue, if that is what you want, that much faster, preventing you from accidentally refuse a quest you want to accept instead.

I always wanted to play this when I was a kid but somehow avoided it until now, and yes I got so overwhelmed by whats on the screen, the messy UI, the keys the being unable to pick up items automatically unless you have a pet....that I uninstalled after 2.5 hours. I still somehow want to play TT
You should try reboot server (Hyperion i think) 2.0 when it comes out sometime in November if you’re still interested :D it’s a new server so it will have all “new players”. I think it’s Nexon trying to bring in new/returning players who are overwhelmed by alll the new stuff and there’s not this pressure of racing to 250. OR u can play with me on reg server LOL =3= I started like 3 weeks ago returning new account

Beast Tamer is actually fine(also limited time creation so if its available at least create it to be able to play it later when ur rdy)....Hayato is currently garbo but gonna want 1 eventually....Kanna is a bit low on dps( i made it my eight char and is currently my hightest(250) cause of hyper burn event.....additionnal i STRONGLY RECOMMEND MAKING A KANNA DURING HYPER BURN EVENT that extra event ring is a major dps boost to Kanna(Eternal Flame Ring)...it provide her QUAD main stats !!!......Intel, MATK, HP & MP(4000 of each HP/MP is equal to 11MATT + extra MATT for each HP/MP% items like horntail neck, dom pendant, decent hyper body...NOTE: MP% from hyper stats dont apply to MP from gear...but Potential MP% and gear MP% does apply to gear giving MP.... thats weird that MP% from gear/potential work but not MP% from hyper stats... Nexon Spaghetti coding........ also here my own recommendation for classes to make in order(best way to create your alts army fast)...orders were chosen base on Link Skills, Legion Effects and Empress Blessing Legion power...so here how to proceed Mercedes(up to 120) > Dawn Warrior(up to 150) > Mercedes(140) > MAIN Character(recommend the following Khali, Shade,Demon Slayer but you can pick something else if you want) > Zero(if Available)(180-200 at choice) > Beast Tamer(140) > Demon Avenger(140) > Buccaneer(140) > Cannoneer(140) > Corsair(140) > Hayato(140) > Demon Slayer(140) if haven't pick as your main > Luminous(Link skill is godly for bossing) > Markman(140) > Night Lord(140) > Shade(140) if haven't pick as main > Blaster(140) > Kanna(140)(ONLY during hyper burn event) > Xenon(140) > all remaining 4 Cygnus(120-140) > Kaiser(120-140) > Dark Knight(140) > Bowmaster(120-140) > WTV else from this point onward...on a final Note..i haven't play all classes yet.... so the 3 classes i listed as recommended main choices were my 3 best experience for both solid mobbing//bossing..once your done getting all the important alts to 120-140 i'd revisit Mercedes and lvl her to 210 to power up her exp % link skill because gonna have to lvl all these alts to 200-250 at some point and that extra 5% exp gonna make a massive difference....if you want more options for a main i guess other ppl could recommend ya base on their experience...btw your rly going to hate Kaiser for lvl 30-100...its outright torture untill fourth job :S....even if its create very late...fourth job is like 15X more dps than second//third job for Kaiser to give ya an idea... unlike most classes that generally get a 2-3X dps boost when they transition to fourth from third....to all those that have read this far...have an happy day :)
i'd edit my above post but yt will likely delete my post if i do it(alway does when i edit).... Kanna has to be play up to 250 during hyper burn..not 140....i wrote wrongly there..dont wanna waste the hyper burn effect now do we ? ;P
err just realized i forgot to insert Mechanic class :S...should be added after Kanna(class is terrible dps wise but worth it for 15-20% buff duration extension)

No, it's not, sadly. What you see on the screen is the only keybind options.

I hate when games take off features and sell it like its a good thing and people buys it. Im talking about the reboot server not being able to trade with other people (one of the things i find more interesting in games, like for example in Diablo2), specially here, a game where you only kill monsters and thats all you do forever lol.
