Jesse and I are the same age I was one of those 1000 people watching the 2k14 videos and grew with him and even if his content changed more for kids and I don’t watch all his videos anymore I still watch the ones that interest me and I’m so proud of how far he has come
Hey Colin & Samir! There is this UA-camr Luke from the UA-cam channel, Outdoor Boys. His Chanel is really interesting - no crazy editing - at least 30 minutes per video - comments are off - has no brand deals - no collabs - doesn’t use his social media to pump out his video - get 3-5 million views in a couple of days - only uploads every 2 weeks I would love a breakdown of his YT Channel. If guys could make this happen 🙏
I love how Colin and Samir constantly bring these creators to their platform and have the most interesting conversations. Colin and Samir is the only channel where I stop everything that I’m doing to watch their new episode :D
brother what about YOUR journey? The old MCPE community was HYPE. I remember when 0.9.0 was out and everyone was wondering if it was gonna jump to 1.0.0 or 1.10 and I actually distinctly remember watching your tutorial on how to get colored text.
I've been watching Jesse since I was in 8th grade if someone told me where he'd be now I'd be flabbergasted so proud of him & S/O to y Colin & Samir for getting such incredible guests on to discuss the "Creator Economy" this channel and Cleo Abram have become favourites of mine
It’s interesting to see how much I am involved and invested in so many creators but don’t see all the creators and don’t know about them and then Colin and Samir brings them to their show and I get so invested in these creators and they creator journey .
I've always felt inspired by jessers content and his reasoning for making. always wanted to be a UA-camr as well but live in a poor community and can't get the right technology for editing and recording for good content. It is what it is but Jesser has always inspired me and I've always looked up to him.
what Jesser is describing when talking about the future of watching sports is akin to costreaming in the live streaming space. So interesting to hear that costreaming is going on in the NBA now too
Jesse is one of the realest ones and has been innovative from the start. He's helped a ton of people and always remained humble. I will always enjoy seeing him at the top!
Hope this video blows up more asap, have no idea how it isn’t - super insightful to hear the journey from dropping doing too much at once to focus, living with other creators, analytics- his story somehow sounded like so many good points heard from other interviews wrapped in one!🔥
I’ve been following Jesse since he first moved in with Lsk. Literally watched every f***ing video he’s made. For those who don’t know him, ask yo mama who “Jesserthelazer” is😂 fr tho he’s the goat and a big inspiration to me❤🕺🏽
yeah it's crazy i have absolutely no idea who this is and he has an entire company. it just shows how much potential the creator economy has for new creators
It’s so funny watching new UA-camrs get their mind blown about old youtube monetization. 17:25 in, Samir asks “you thought 100k views was enough to go full time?” Yes, back then it absolutely was. What people don’t understand is 100k views per video, but uploading 7 days per week. Maybe twice in a day too. This guy was probably getting 1.5-3m views per week in 2014. UA-camrs back then we’re making so much more money than most creators of similar sizes today. The CPM’s were a bit messed up because of machinima and other sketchy stuff, but the sheer quantity of views was wild cause you had the whole audience in a sector.
No cap, Colin & Samir are the UA-cam plug. I saw the video of Jesser throwing the football over the house on TT but didn’t know him. Now it’s full circle. The algorithm be algorithming 😅
When the goal is money, you're gonna have to know who's real or not. I think it's a big reason 2Hype failed and Bucketsquad is soaring. The past 2 years alone have shown Jesse's friends acting differently as he's grown. Just hope he sees it.
I would love for you to interview Safiya Nygaard! Her videos are so well researched and prepared/edited plus she and her husband moved their entire operation across the country and I’d love to know the logistics of that!
This was good!!! Love when you break down a creators business. I might try to make the NBA tour traveling business. I think there is something there if you incorporate various elements like time on the floor a player appearance and maybe a experience selected by a player on the team to enjoy while in the town as a group like a fav restaurant or something. Great conversation.
I love how Jesser doesn’t know what he is doing with his business and is so chill about it lol. Would love to see a funny skit of him and his company ahaha
We need Harry Mack! His podcast (5 eps deep) is awesome, he's been in the game for a bit, super entertaining and contagious energy. You all would have an awesome convo.
I feel within the next 5ish years, athletes and sports will be the leaders of the content world once the education point is solidified. A decent amount of successful creators have a background in playing sports. One player that was ahead of his time with content creation was Brandon Jennings, he had a series called under the armor that would do really well in today’s era of creatives.
A big part in my opinion with sports communities and trying to get younger people in, is the culture. Whether it's pro, amateur, or little league, sports harbor a very toxic community (generalized statement, I know), especially for people like us who enjoy them but are also not super masculine, or political, or homo-erotic, or sexist; we're just probably what most people would call a "normal dude". And it's the core fans of these sports as well. They get broadcasted in bars, or bar-restaurants (like Applebee's, BWW) where a more average person wouldn't feel comfortable with or without the sport. Generally, sports fans are LOUD. Tend to be aggressive, and tend to be an opinionated men. While yes, competitiveness is part of the game, they're not places for Gen-Z, who I would say trend towards more chill, bright/colorful places. The only reason I like football is because my family was so into it growing up and I see it as part of my roots, but I do not watch any other sport for pastime, it's just not the vibe these days.
1:07:30 was a weirdly ASMR adjacent gulp of water that synced up way too well with me sipping my morning coffee 😂 I had to pause and be like “ayo was that me?” And then replay the last 15 seconds to make sure I wasn’t crazy
I know I am super late to this video, but I don't think Colin and Samir realized one of the last things they said with a athlete agency teaching them how to do youtube or gaming that is literally a billion dollar idea right in front of their face. There is more and more athletes starting podcasts and starting UA-cam, but I'm sure they don't know how to do it they just start talking about whatever. If there's an agency that specializes in that athletes will be paying them out so much money to make that happen and they would only need a few clients and they are already making well past a million a year. Anyone reading this if you love sports and you love or know youtube like the back of your hand I would just cold outreach any athlete on social media that doesn't have their own podcast or is not doing something on Twitch or youtube and propose this. They would jump all over it and it would only be a one time thing to get set up and you can literally charge them like 50K or more for one client. That's the Golden Taken idea right there!
thanks for having me! yall are the best!

How nice to have such a leg up as a kid.
How nice indeed...
Jesser is your next door neighbor running for President. At least that's how first impressions go on this channel.
I remember the chino hill vlogs. Love seeing how big Jesser got. Hard work has paid off and continues to 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
No cap, Colin & Samir are the UA-cam plug. I saw the video of Jesser throwing the football over the house on TT but didn’t know him. Now it’s full circle. The algorithm be algorithming 😅
"Courios enough to click" perfect example of what a title should be like for new viewers to click.
NO WAYYYYY LETS GO

he seems very friendly 🎉
As a smaller creator I took a lot of value from this, thank you!
Them putting his sub count in the title is all we needed to know
Sub count isn’t in the title tho?
@@tripled213 it was, but they changed the title and thumbnail to test the click through rates.
