Why? Leave artists react the way they feel like reacting. No one owes Taylor absolutely anything and they have every right to not stand if they don't feel like it. Taylor standing up for others is also her decision.
@@irefusetogivemyname i mean on other categories everybody was standing up, and these were also their decisions. when dua won, everybody stood up. when beyonce won, everyone stood up too. when harry won everybody stood up. i think it’s just a matter of respect, independently of who the person is. but im not here to cause an argument but i think it is a matter of respect to everyone.

I honestly don't know what more people want from the other nominees. She already had gotten that award twice before and many other artists deserved recognition already. @@irefusetogivemyname yeah you have a point, taylor already had two album of the year awards before that night, and perhaps people had predicted that it was gonna be her third to win the award. There was no element of surprise, people like 'oh yeah I knew it from the first place that she's gonna win'.
But it might be different if the other artist who wins the award, it's gonna be their first time to win it and people would give more appreciation to him/her.

It was the very first album and Taylor was the very first artist to occupy all the top 10 spots of the Billboard charts and even more than that, it was the most streamed album on Spotify in a single day and it didn’t even have any singles released before the album came out.
Plus it is far from only being successful when it comes to streaming, Midnights also performed really well when it comes to physical album sales. In the US, 4% of vinyl sales were Taylor Swift records, which means 1 in 25 vinyls sold was a Taylor record. That is a lot considering how many artists there are.
If Midnights doesn’t win, that would be extremely unfair. It reached so many milestones and I think we still don’t even know to which degree it is going to influence Taylor’s career as a whole. I’d say the Midnights era is even bigger than the 1989 era. A Grammy for album of the year is VERY much deserved.
The reason her grammy win was so special was coz it is her first grammy that she won for an album that she owns! She also created history with this win. First female artist to win 3 AOTY !! Legendary

No surprise at all. It’s not like she had any competition, Folklore is undoubtedly and unarguably the album of the year and whoever thinks differently is wrong, no matter what reasons you have or what you think. Folklore is the album of the year. Others might’ve had commercial success or good reviews but no other album comes even close to this songwriting masterpiece the kind we only get to hear once in a while.

Folklore is a masterpiece so good that my head can't understand how can someone be so talented and brilliant, so relatable and smart, so strong and passionate, her skills, her heart, her mind, I'm truly so blown away.
Its been a year, but I'm still bitter about the fact that, Taylor made history by literally winning her 3rd Aoty, and somehow the audience reaction was so underwhelming. Like, she was such a good sports. She was so overjoyed and enthusiastically cheered for everyone. She was also one of the first people to give a standing ovation, even when the other artist won against her. But very few stood up for her. Smh.

@@preranataylorsversion6883 I can see your point but if Folklore hadn't been released and Evermore had been released within the eligibility period for this year's Grammys it would have won... I think that only reason Evermore doesn't get quite the hype is that it followed on from folklore which was such a departure from her previous stuff that it had a massive impact.. If evermore had been released first it would have been just has huge... And if the Grammys are only about the quality of the music evermore has to be in contention next year....

Folklore is honestly a masterpiece. A lot of people believed that Taylor just writes about her failtures in love, but honestly, there's so much to that... love is a emotion, feeling, event etc. Love is stories the ones you will never forget (All Too Well), the ones that broke you (Exile), the ones you celebrate (Lover), and so much more. English is not my best language but reading Taylor Swift lyrics, I learn A LOT of words I have never heard and phrases that describe a feeling so well.

i feel like more singles would have ruined it, since you need to listen to it entirely to get the feel of it, people tend to avoid albums and mostly listen to singles

every song could be a single, it was that good.
But, this was also the first time songs werent created with a checklist- like Tay mentioned in the evermore interview. There was no bop/melody/mv/stage category- so the songs on folklore overall sound very similar (although they're very different in flow and lyric structure)
also, this was made with the intent of comfort and escapism- it had a greater narrative than her previous albums did as a whole. this is like an extended pool of 'its nice to have a friend'
for the first time- the songs were vaguely about her, although connected to her. people appreciated the songs for art and 'who is it about' was a minimum.

I’m definitely not a swiftie and there have been times where I’ve wanted other artists to win other awards. However, after hearing this album is wearing I truly understand Taylor Swift as masterful lyricist and musician. This was my first time listening to a full Taylor album and I remember listening to this entire album for the first time and being in awe! It made me go listen to her other body of work! This was definitely album of the year for me!
