Rich you have logged some miles on that there Kayak brother! I've become a fan, started watching you in the keys, I go there once a year. Now here I am watching you fish for stripers up north, lol. Good content, nice editing, keep up the quality.
Sweet vid, I caught a striper with a tag about 2 years ago, I documented it’s height an weight an where the fish was caught, took a photo and contacted the number on the tag an ended up getting some tackle, hat, sweatshirt an a t-shirt, Rich when is that prototype gonna be for sale at J&H I’ve had plenty of luck wit the other swim baits an definitely gotta try that one in the 7”, take care 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Ive caught A couple of those tagged fish usually they are from the highland littoral society in NJ . So the fish was most likely tagged in central jersey shore.
If you ever want to go on a really weird but fun fishing trip, go to the Chesapeake bay, around the bay bridge. MASSIVE strippers are there, very hard fights, but very hard to catch sometimes. Good vid. Cheers mate
In central area belmar n point haven't seen any action this season yet tried multiple tides they see to all be in Raritan areas can only access from boat or yak there catching on lol
I was off KDH, for tuna ... 1 tuna 3 mahi and gaffer wahoo. 10 mins into return “ footballs everywhere” . I got mine ,but I was there for tuna 😳🔫, I feel ya
It collapses when a fish eats its. Kinda similar to how a hollow body swimbait collapses when a fish bites it then exposing the hook gap and they get hooked.
As a fellow NE Florida Fishaholic Subscriber I concur! Hey any fishing video is a good one! If one wants to come to NE Florida to fish again I got a private cabin on a private lake only about an hour from fishing both Jax and the gulf! It’s usually open to the public for rent, but with the Coronavirus around it’s closed till the end of the year. And I’m just lettin fishin friends use er and the boat ramp till things get back to normal. Hit me up with a message if interested! You can look it up by going to “VRBO.com” and typing in “Wellborn cabin”.
Jersey back bay it’s a really a really small spot and I just found it so kinda keeping on the DL but if you look on Google Maps you can see a lot of back bay islands. I usually use the navionics app and go paddle app to fin a launch near deep channels where current will be flowing and of course attracting some fish.
When the water is very muddy what is your recommended lures? I never seem to have luck up here in canada with anything but cut bait. The bay of fundy tides are muddy no visibility in water.
Hi Rich say can you tell me how I can get one of your bags that you use that lure bag with the flap that you used in this video and you use it in a lot of videos I really like the efficiency of that bag how it works I'm primarily a lure fishermen myself and if you can please tell me where I can get one that would be fantastic thank you so much rich you're a great fisherman thank you
The one in this video is the Hobie Mirage Outback and its great but there are a lot of other options now available from Pelican, Old Town, Native, Born Salty. And there prices are a little less for less of a sophisticated design. But still will work well
Ah unfortunately I won’t be able to get down there any time soon. But I do miss it probably just as much as you or more. The redfish fight is always awesome! 😎
Some of the other tagged fish I’ve caught the tag is just inserted behind a scale and attached right through the skin so you can just pull out real quick with minimal damage to the fish.
@@FishAholicTV interesting, never knew your supposed to take the tag out. from your experience what fish bite in the rain looking to go for fluke tomorrow
I had to replace the drive spine. But in this video I was actually borrowing my friends drive while I waited for the part. The bearings went on the old spine.
Great video just like a professional tech and great footage. I'm in the process of building up my own collection of lures. I looked up you lures that you posted in the description below and they where different from the video. huuummmmm??? can you help
Was wondering what fish finder you have on the yak and how do you like it . Looking for a fish finder that isn't going to break the bank with gps new to yak fishing. Have a good day and stay safe Jimmy from Massachusetts
It’s a nice reel so far so good I’ve logged probably near 100 outings with it in the ocean surf and just rinse with freshwater after and it’s still real nice and smooth.
Most underrated fishing UA-camr
Definitely my favorite fishing channel, I think friday I'm gonna buy some merch to help support. Tight lines brother!
once again Rich great vid. i cant wait for those bigger finback shads to come out
Rich you have logged some miles on that there Kayak brother! I've become a fan, started watching you in the keys, I go there once a year. Now here I am watching you fish for stripers up north, lol. Good content, nice editing, keep up the quality.

Had a lot of fun watching this one with my buddy, we felt like we were there with you! Stoked to see more content Rch, keep up the great work
Fishing my back yard! That second spot has produced big fish for me over the years. Stick to the big shads 🤙🏻
I live right there wow
That feeling when you figure out the bite in a new spot 🔥 🔥 that feeling when you lose the biggest fish of the day 💩 💩
Such a cool place to be able to get out and fish!!! Nice job on the video!
Omg I bet it feels so good to fish again
Great video. Your instincts are serving you well. Looked like beautiful area to spend time

This LI or Jersey? Shinnecock bay?
Long Island?
Why take the tag out? Who do you turn it in to. Isn’t it supposed to stay on the fish? Nice video
awesome video , cant wait to get out there
Rich I seen you brother that day. Was bike riding across from you haha. Was saying look a kayaker over there. That is awesome dude.
Nice! Always great videos dude
Got squeteague (just ate one), stripers and ton of big blues here RI
It's the fin on that lure that is preventing the hooking from happening properly... IMHO :)
Wonder if the dorsal fin on your swim shad is interfering with the hook sets?
Bryan Mullins I own some and the fin is very soft and thin. I have had no problems with hooksets
It collapses when a fish eats its. Kinda similar to how a hollow body swimbait collapses when a fish bites it then exposing the hook gap and they get hooked.
Live right in the river. Great area. You should come here more
you said north NJ, where were you fishing with islands off the shore - I sure don't know of any place.
Great video!!! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
I have had luck with green on my soft plastics
Not gonna lie I miss the warm summer Florida videos. Being someone from the NE I want warm Florida lmao. Still a great vid 👍🏻
Haha It’s been kinda a crummy Spring so I don’t blame you.
Nickhead87 I don’t want to get my balls frozen off😂. I’d rather have to put up with heat .
Yes Florida hear bring it on. It was snowing in May in Cleveland early this month soooo yes

The bluefish are runnin hard in Jax right now too btw! Interesting to see they’re movin all the way up the Atlantic.
Would love to always know where you are fishing. Thanks.

Are we going to see some striper on fly this summer?
I like how he uses the word "concentration"
im trying to go into the bay near cape may in late december, any tips to getting into some stripers?
I was curious what gloves you are wearing, I can’t find a good pair to fish with ?
Damn you make awesome videos
I really am starting to like striped bass never caught one

Hi Rich do you sell them FishAholic sticker you have on the outside of your kayak? i have the small ones you sell like to get bigger ones.
Dude 1st Cast!

Hopefully coming in June 5th. Got another new tasty color that should be Fire 🔥
when are the 7" shads gonna be available
Don’t give that spot away. I’ve had amazing early seasons there.
Where is this? Did I hear you say New Jersey?
What gloves are you using?
I’m using 15 line and 30 fluoro and it get break when I catch a striped and I lost many fishing Can you help me with that. Thank you
good morning !
Hi, What brand kayaks do you recommend for saltwater fishing? I am looking for a 12-13 foot long sit on top kayak but not sure of what brand is good
The one in this video is the Hobie Mirage Outback and its great but there are a lot of other options now available from Pelican, Old Town, Native, Born Salty. And there prices are a little less for less of a sophisticated design. But still will work well
Hi I use 15 line and 30 fluoro and it break Can you help with that?
Great video. I wanna try and get out in the salt. We’re you fishing the bay I assume? In jersey?
I have yet to catch a striped bass
What model Lowrance Hook do you use?
Please do more redfish and trout fishing in the Lowcountry
Ah unfortunately I won’t be able to get down there any time soon. But I do miss it probably just as much as you or more. The redfish fight is always awesome! 😎
Where to buy tattoo sea dog?!
Anyone know where you can buy tattoo’s tackle?
ive seen the exact same tag literally in the flesh of it. is that rare i thought the tags look different
How did you get rid of the squeak out of the drive?
I had to replace the drive spine. But in this video I was actually borrowing my friends drive while I waited for the part. The bearings went on the old spine.
Super impressed that you didn't kill that first fish. I thought he was a goner for sure.
Crushing barbs makes a huge difference and a little finesse lol
Are You Back In NJ?
Great video just like a professional tech and great footage. I'm in the process of building up my own collection of lures. I looked up you lures that you posted in the description below and they where different from the video. huuummmmm??? can you help
live in Virginia was thinking about coming up do you think it'd be alright if it's somebody from down here came up there
wath rod you using
Its good👍🙏

Hook 4 Lowrance it’s I believe like 4-500...?
What was the tide?
How good is the reel salt x
It’s a nice reel so far so good I’ve logged probably near 100 outings with it in the ocean surf and just rinse with freshwater after and it’s still real nice and smooth.
What fishing gloves are you using?
Simms Kispiox gloves. Perfect for when it’s cold probably my favorite pair I’ve owned. Way better than like glacier gloves.
@@FishAholicTV thanks! I have the Glacier Gloves but don't like. Will keep in mind for fall
How many hours do you think you fish per week? Great Vids Keep it Up!
where r the stripers now?
The water
Whats ur slot limit
Where was this location ?
what waders do you got?
Hey dude if u looked at vid his waders said Pro line
Yeah pro line. Not the best waders no warranty. 😒. Patagonia are better with a life time.
This Jersey or LI?
Keep slaying
Likewise man tight lines!!
Was this filmed in NJ or NY?
Nj
Can you upload videos often
Why not fish from the kayak? Way more fun.
Why would you have taken that tag out?
Because then you can see who caught it last and where the fish has been.
Also sometimes they’ll give you a reward
First!
Stripped bass < SNOOK
Haha 😆 yeah... I miss chasing them to.
Kinda cool but booo go back to Florida, tarpon are moving in SW FL and we all wanna see your kayak get towed lol
