    I admire your addiction to this project. There is a lot of work ahead. For me an E30 does not feel like a classic car because I know it as brand new car. My uncle worked at BMW and he had a new car every 6 month (they could buy them with 25% discount and sell them after 6 month with profit). Therefore I was able to try a few models (320i, 325i, 325e and an M3 - unfortunately only as passenger because I was not yet 18.
    I saw you using motip primer. I am not a fan of this stuff. First it is not a weld through primer (and thus has a negative effect on welds, it can cause crappy welds) and second it doesn't provide good corrosion protection. It can easily washed off with Acetone - that tells you something.
    Also I'd remove the paint on a wider area - burning paint is not healthy and bad for the welds

      Hey! Thanks for the comment! I use weld through for places still to be welded after painting. For other surfaces I use motip. Its not the best, but the paint covers easily.
      "Remove the paint on a wider area" - Noticed this while filming the upcoming episode, haha!

    Great work so far, but you should adjust your welder settings. Those welds look a bit too thick. Maybe it needs more amp or less wire? And i'd recommend to clean all those areas before you weld. That doesn't mean just to remove the paint but rather use some brake fluid cleaner before you start welding. Some of the welds look like there's dirt inside.

      NEVER use brake cleaner to clean up an area right before welding!

      @@joeyoder7990 I personally haven't, but why not? It evaporates in seconds. I use rubbing alcohol.

      @@Juntasification It makes deadly phosgene gas when you weld on it. The smallest amount is lethal. Yes, you can weld on non-chlorinated brake cleaner, but generally speaking, telling someone to weld over brake cleaner is BAD advice.

    What is the thickness of steel you use?

    • @kureirodoprod
      @kureirodoprod  6 місяців тому

      0.75 mm (0.028") or 1.00 mm (0.040") depending on the thickness of the original thickness.
