We Are in Unchartered Financial Waters! every day we encounter challenges that have become the new standard. Although we previously perceived it as a crisis, we now acknowledge it as the new normal and must adapt accordingly. Given the current economic difficulties that the country is experiencing in 2024, how can we enhance our earnings during this period of adjustment? I cannot let my $680,000 savings vanish after putting in so much effort to accumulate them.

Keeping some gold is usually a wise decision. You would be better off keeping away from equities for a bit or, even better, seeking advice from an expert given the current market conditions and everything that is at risk with the current economy.

You have a very valid point, I started investing on my own and for a long time, the market was really ripping me off. I decided to hire a CFA, even though I was skeptical at first, and I beat the market by more than 9%. I thought it was a fluke until it happened two years in a row, and so I’ve been sticking to investing via an analyst.

I really admire how eloquently you try to subtly mention the 'flip side of the company environment' with its diversity or lack thereof (but more so what that actually entails and what some might be more interested to be mentally prepared for). Even though I'm not 100% sure what you mean, as someone from California as well, I think I totally get what you mean, if that makes any sense lol.

Thank you for sharing your experience at AlphaSights! I have a digital interview for an Associate position in the San Francisco office for the 2 year Associate Program. I am an MBA grad from the University of San Diego and who was looking to make a mid-career transition out of Biotech towards Market Research when I stumbled upon this industry via Handshake. Do you feel someone who is older (I am 39 but my personality and upbeat demeanor have people guessing I am 10 years younger) would fit in culturally? I am concerned since I am about past the post-college party stage. I do play a lot of sports and love talking to people. However, I am also am an ambivert and although I am ambitious, going full bore would likely have me burned out. I tend to enjoy a balance of things and I do have concerns about the monotonous work. However, the ability to work with agnostic industries is what I am looking for as I crave learning and diversity. Thoughts on whether you believe I might fit in? Apologize for the long-winded comment!

Hi Kenneth! It’s definitely a good area for market research and business diversity...and a great sporty culture at AS! Thanks for the video. 4:13 in, there are psychological and sociological reasons why there are 26 year olds and younger.
The military wants barely 18 year olds. This way they can get them before their brains have fully matured to be able to think for themselves more clearly and confidently.
26 years old is about the age someone would leave a job like alpha sights for career job.
The new young energy is farmed by business’s. Remember, your existence there is to make them money. It’s a business, not a ymca.
Thanks again for the video 👍

Hi Ally- Do you think someone with absolutely no knowledge in consulting(/consulting case study process) would be able to pass the second round of interviews? It seems like Alphasights is not a management consulting company, but according to their homepage applicants need to tackle "case study" problems during interviews.. :(

I very much appreciate that your video explains how this position is great for an undergraduate student as the first job. I hope that I could be able to get this job and work in Hong Kong or Shanghai. Can you give me a brief summary of how the interview process work and how to prepare for the interview? I did some research and heard that it is a phone interview, a case interview, and a final interview, but most people got rejected after the case interview, so I'm kinda worried about it. Looking forward to hear your feedback :)

Also, this video is veeeeeery vague about the work. The culture is maybe 10% to 20% of the reason I’d join a company. I’m there to work and create upward mobility in my life. Not be a part of regular toga parties.
Can you please elaborate on what you mean by a “quota?” I thought this was a Customer Associate Rep position not a sales position.
If this is a sales position then please say that. Takes 20 seconds to sum up this business.
Great culture, sales, cold calling, and quota driven business. If your employment is based off of sales, you’re not a customer associate, you’re in sales.
Getting young people into jobs like this is no wonder why there is such a high TURN OVER rate. People that will take the first offer on the table, then get duped by the carrot and the stick.
Thanks again for this video. Helped make me not want this.
