He really will speak to you. I know it sounds nuts, but you can actually have full conversations with God. He doesn't talk to me in an audible voice or anything like that, it just happens in my imagination. He has told me things that couldn't have come from just me. Seek his voice in undistracted silence. He will meet you there first, and as you learn to hear him better, you will be able to hear him even in loud places with lots of distractions.

If I may, I’ll chime in here as a response to your statement. Being young, and seeking God, can be a great place to BE in! There are untold thousands of people, many over 50, who “ go to church @, but never hear from God! Why? Many don’t open their Bibles until they get to church on Sunday morning. God gives us guidance, and wisdom, and needed correction and a strong sense of purpose- as we daily get into His word

We have allowed the state to usurp our responsibilities as Christians. They have slowly replaced a church system of grace and love with one that makes their charges their serfs. The church system empowers the people in need. The state system makes them into commodities that they can control to have power over them.

Who else was excited to see Jordan in the presence of good ole fashion preaching? Two faithful people who aren’t over thinking everything and know when it’s God speaking and give Him the Glory. Jordan kept trying to pull them into his heady way of thinking but all they can say without a shadow of a doubt it’s the Lord putting this in our hearts! Jordan always wanting to know the intricacies of how that works….lol Just believe Jordan and start your adventure of a lifetime, we’re all waiting to watch that unfold.

Dearest Dr. Peterson, here is a long and silent and very tender hug. I am so thankful that I got to give you one in person. I am crying for and with you. I sensed when I saw you in Boston that your grief was so deep that you couldn’t talk about it but I wanted you to know I saw it on your face and in your eyes and I care so very very much. There is a line from an old book “The Country of the Pointed Firs,” a Maine lit classic, in which the maternal main character remarks, “There, you never get over being a child, long as you have a mother to go to.” And that when you lose your mother, some part of you that was a child grows up. I could see in your face that you looked inexplicably older.
I read your blog post from 2019, “Thoughts on my Mother’s 80th birthday,” and it made me sob. I felt that I got to know your mom through it and I cried for your loss.
Here’s another hug from Ruth Anne, at present stuck under a sleeping child who needed to fall asleep on Mommy.

I've been a follower of Dr. Peterson for a few years now and love his message and what he stands for. I am the oldest of five children, all of us adopted. Fortunately none of us were in the foster care system and were all adopted privately very young. My wife and I however were unable to have children of our own and fostered several children before eventually adopting our now daughter. My brother and sister in law also fostered several kids for a couple of years so I am very familiar with the system. Seeing this is such a wonderful thing. I will plan on seeing the movie as soon as possible. I hope that this brings lots of help and healing to many children and their families. God bless you for your efforts and in your endeavors moving forward.

Donna’s heart is speaking to my heart. Under the circumstances I don’t believe that God is calling me to be a foster mother. But I do believe that He is calling me to prepare to be a step-mother to motherless children. There is a beautiful Old Testament expression I have had constantly before me lately: “A mother in Israel.” And the sense of the phrase is a woman who is a mother to all children, not only the children of her body, but the children of her spirit. And I think I might be called to that. Perhaps all the pain I have experienced as a single mum has been to prepare me, as Donna’s grief prepared her.

Hubby and I saw the Sound of Hope today, 7/4/24, when it opened. I was adopted at two days old. This film, like Sound of Freedom, is a wake up call for the church. Just as Covid response was a sifting. Too many professing believers gave in to fear, bowed to the tyranny’s and embraced the offer of a RNA experimental drug. All tragic. Time to repent church if you went along with the lies and nonsense.
At 39 I met my biological siblings for the first time. I was the last child of our mother, and the only one placed in adoption. I was, without a doubt the most fortunate one of her children.

@@ElenaLearningForeverToInfinity not in the least. The people who raised me are/were Mom and Dad. (Both have passed away). I never had a desire to search and when that was getting a lot of talk show play in the 70s, I thought it was crazy. My “void” was not having grandparents as my last one died when I was 5.
As far as bio parents never met either. I only searched after Mom and Dad passed, and I wanted them to find someone who knew me prior to my roles as wife and mom. So we searched and found bio siblings. That has been a blessing as I was raised an only. And while they did not know me as I was adopted out as an infant (so was spared foster care and any childhood trauma). I never met bio mom or the sperm donor man (his identity is known only to God).
I was blessed, wanted, and well raised.
My siblings were not as fortunate as I. My brothers did experience horrors, sexual abuse, in foster care after our mother died (when I was only 15 month old). I was truly protected.

Pretend for a moment that I am one of your closest friends, and we are hanging out and I want to probe you to go just a bit deeper with your response. I might want to ask you as a close friend, What about “The Sound of Hope” and “The Sound of Freedom” makes them a “wake up call” to you? What is “the church” really supposed to wake up to? And why is it that it is “the church” that is being called here? What put “the church” to sleep, or rather why is the church sleeping? And what exactly do you mean by “the church”? And what relevance does the “Covid response” have here? Am I to hear another clarion call upon “the church” “to repent?” And what would that really mean “to repent,” I mean if we took that seriously? And aren’t there two different kinds of repentance, so how do we avoid the worldly form of repentance that doesn’t lead to salvation? What would that true repentance for this situation look like, or sound like, or more importantly, act like? And how do we avoid arrogance , because too often we can get too preoccupied with the speck in a brother’s eye and overlook the plank in our own. My friend, don’t get me wrong, we all must repent and do it continuously until our last dying breath, so that will certainly require action, lest it be mere lip service, but how does that happen here in this context? How would “the church” repent of its response to Covid? Is The Sound of Hope also a wake up call to repentance? Just curious friend, just curious.

What a gift Peterson's Dad gave his wife and son. That upon her death his son had no bad memories of her . I have 5 sons and when my husband was diagnosed with cancer , I had to step into his role for awhile. My relationships with my younger sons suffered as a result of what was necessary. It was then that I realized that my joyful enjoyment of them , especially in their 20s, was a gift from my husband he sacrificed and did what was necessary and I get to enjoy the fruits of that.

These guests are true protestants Christians. That's a very good marker that a child has been adopted by a Christian family, it's very rare to get that with a fake Christian, fakes don't want to adopt a child or help with adoption, they're not thinking about helping the orphans.

Really interesting interview. In the UK the adoption system is very politicised. I remember a case of a right of centre couple who were fostering two or three East European children and apparently doing a good job. When it emerged that the couple had voted for UKIP, Nigel Farage's old Eurosceptic political party, the children were removed from the couple ! You can bet that would not have happened had the parents been left of centre. It is always sad to think of the older children being overlooked and having to remain in care. In the UK many children have suffered sexual abuse whilst in care, they are so vulnerable. Great interview as ever.

    • @MMMaxwell-DC
      @MMMaxwell-DC 3 місяці тому +2

We’ve adopted and are looking to do it again. Adopting through the foster system is waaaay cheaper than the private way of adopting. Looking back the cost was about the same price as a low to mid-range end car. Foster to adopt has reimbursed costs and there’s the possibility of getting money years after the adoption.
The red tape is a barrier to deal with fools who rush in where angels fear to tread and to document for birth families that they are giving their child to a good family. Despite that there are creeps who adopt for the purpose of abuse. I’d like to think that the red tape lets fewer creeps get access to vulnerable children.
