Dearest Dr. Peterson, here is a long and silent and very tender hug. I am so thankful that I got to give you one in person. I am crying for and with you. I sensed when I saw you in Boston that your grief was so deep that you couldn’t talk about it but I wanted you to know I saw it on your face and in your eyes and I care so very very much. There is a line from an old book “The Country of the Pointed Firs,” a Maine lit classic, in which the maternal main character remarks, “There, you never get over being a child, long as you have a mother to go to.” And that when you lose your mother, some part of you that was a child grows up. I could see in your face that you looked inexplicably older. I read your blog post from 2019, “Thoughts on my Mother’s 80th birthday,” and it made me sob. I felt that I got to know your mom through it and I cried for your loss. Here’s another hug from Ruth Anne, at present stuck under a sleeping child who needed to fall asleep on Mommy.
Great comments. My mother died of Alzheimer's a few yeas back, my father a couple of years later. You do feel oddly vulnerable when both parents have passed, that feeling of being closer to the end of life. You also wish you could have said more to them, done more for them. That feeling takes a while to get over.
Ruth Anne, I love, love, love your post. I too saw Dr.Peterson in person in 2018 in Amsterdam and he had the weight of the world in his eyes. An imperfect, brilliant and beloved man. He’s the best. From one mom to another, Much love,Ruth Anne😌😌❤

I've been a follower of Dr. Peterson for a few years now and love his message and what he stands for. I am the oldest of five children, all of us adopted. Fortunately none of us were in the foster care system and were all adopted privately very young. My wife and I however were unable to have children of our own and fostered several children before eventually adopting our now daughter. My brother and sister in law also fostered several kids for a couple of years so I am very familiar with the system. Seeing this is such a wonderful thing. I will plan on seeing the movie as soon as possible. I hope that this brings lots of help and healing to many children and their families. God bless you for your efforts and in your endeavors moving forward.
Just watched it with my sister and my 91 year old dad. We all were crying, and sometimes sobbing (my dad as well). A beautifully done movie that did not hide the hardships, and kept the focus on the redeeming power of Jesus through whatever struggle comes.

The media and tv, teach men and women that their broken heart can be healed only with materialism, addictions, gambling, sugar addiction, short term pleasure etc instead of connection and healthy hobbies. I wouldn’t be so sure that He hasn’t. Unless you know Dr. Peterson personally and deeply, you cannot know that. Be a bit humble with your prayers and remember that you are praying to the One Who called Dr. Peterson to the mighty work he is doing now and sustains him while he doing that work.
@@afringedgentian5426 I’m not so sure that he has a true understanding of the Spirit living in him, since he questions his guests re how they knew they were hearing from God. I have no doubt that God is using Dr.Peterson, yet his knowledge seems to very intellectual, and not the knowledge of childlike faith. It seems to me that he uses the Bible to support his psychological understanding, not as the living, God-breathed inspired Word from the LORD Almighty. I will keep on praying for him.
@@user3-3204you are using your intellect to differentiate between what you call “childlike faith” and intellectualism. What if Jordan’s “childlike faith” leads him to be intellectual? You are a hypocrite.
@user3-3204 he's not "questioning" them in a doubtful. He wants them to elaborate that feeling for his, theirs, and his audiences further understanding. Everyone would explain that feeling in a different way as well. Just my opinion ❤
@@user3-3204 Peterson was merely asking how they feel that message, that's what the Bible, Torah and Quran teach, is to learn from those who come before you. Peace and blessings 🙂
I have never heard from a pastor about adoption in the Bible and that was so wonderful how he quoted Ephesians, Moses, and Jesus being adopted.. we are adopted into God’s family.
My church enjoys 36 foster children. Our Pastor of Counseling has fostered many, currently 4, and just adopted two. He has been so frustrated with Social Services. I can’t imagine how difficult it is to hang in there given the hoops the government demands and all that they fail to deliver. God bless and guide these children to a loving home.
So beautiful to watch the level of respect that Jordan and Tammy have for each other. It's the kind of love and respect that grows over a lifetime of commitment, joy and trials. ❤

I love Bishop and Donna, they have the same Spirit working through them that George Müller of England did, when he built his orphanages through faith and prayer.
Went from 0 interest to 110 after hearing this. God Bless everyone involved in this ministry and Dr. Peterson and Daily wire for bringing this story into the light.
Donna’s heart is speaking to my heart. Under the circumstances I don’t believe that God is calling me to be a foster mother. But I do believe that He is calling me to prepare to be a step-mother to motherless children. There is a beautiful Old Testament expression I have had constantly before me lately: “A mother in Israel.” And the sense of the phrase is a woman who is a mother to all children, not only the children of her body, but the children of her spirit. And I think I might be called to that. Perhaps all the pain I have experienced as a single mum has been to prepare me, as Donna’s grief prepared her.
Gen 24:60 And they blessed Rebekah and said to her: “Our sister, may you become The mother of thousands of ten thousands; And may your descendants possess The gates of those who hate them.” 🌹
Jordan Peterson and his wife Tammy are being used of The Almighty who is God to reach millions and millions of people. This is what its truly about. Sharing the love of Jesus for those who are hurting. And this case in particular, love for the most precious among us, children in desperate need. Thank you Bishop and first Lady of your church for sharing your story. It is changing lives for the good.
Hubby and I saw the Sound of Hope today, 7/4/24, when it opened. I was adopted at two days old. This film, like Sound of Freedom, is a wake up call for the church. Just as Covid response was a sifting. Too many professing believers gave in to fear, bowed to the tyranny’s and embraced the offer of a RNA experimental drug. All tragic. Time to repent church if you went along with the lies and nonsense. At 39 I met my biological siblings for the first time. I was the last child of our mother, and the only one placed in adoption. I was, without a doubt the most fortunate one of her children.
@@ElenaLearningForeverToInfinity not in the least. The people who raised me are/were Mom and Dad. (Both have passed away). I never had a desire to search and when that was getting a lot of talk show play in the 70s, I thought it was crazy. My “void” was not having grandparents as my last one died when I was 5. As far as bio parents never met either. I only searched after Mom and Dad passed, and I wanted them to find someone who knew me prior to my roles as wife and mom. So we searched and found bio siblings. That has been a blessing as I was raised an only. And while they did not know me as I was adopted out as an infant (so was spared foster care and any childhood trauma). I never met bio mom or the sperm donor man (his identity is known only to God). I was blessed, wanted, and well raised. My siblings were not as fortunate as I. My brothers did experience horrors, sexual abuse, in foster care after our mother died (when I was only 15 month old). I was truly protected.
Pretend for a moment that I am one of your closest friends, and we are hanging out and I want to probe you to go just a bit deeper with your response. I might want to ask you as a close friend, What about “The Sound of Hope” and “The Sound of Freedom” makes them a “wake up call” to you? What is “the church” really supposed to wake up to? And why is it that it is “the church” that is being called here? What put “the church” to sleep, or rather why is the church sleeping? And what exactly do you mean by “the church”? And what relevance does the “Covid response” have here? Am I to hear another clarion call upon “the church” “to repent?” And what would that really mean “to repent,” I mean if we took that seriously? And aren’t there two different kinds of repentance, so how do we avoid the worldly form of repentance that doesn’t lead to salvation? What would that true repentance for this situation look like, or sound like, or more importantly, act like? And how do we avoid arrogance , because too often we can get too preoccupied with the speck in a brother’s eye and overlook the plank in our own. My friend, don’t get me wrong, we all must repent and do it continuously until our last dying breath, so that will certainly require action, lest it be mere lip service, but how does that happen here in this context? How would “the church” repent of its response to Covid? Is The Sound of Hope also a wake up call to repentance? Just curious friend, just curious.

"Giving" is essential to having a good life and making other lives good. That is because of it's function in such a social species as us humans. Without the "giving", a human is no longer social, making his life miserable as his essential means aren't met. These people gave so much to plenty of children. God bless them
I love Jordan and Tammy! Such a godsend to the world at this time in history. Saw this movie today with my brother and my 94 year old mother with Alzheimer’s. She clapped at the end. We all did.
The problem is the system waits too long to take the children out of the situation as the show demonstrates. I worked for a counseling center and was the social worker assigned to child protection. I cried so hard in this movie because it is so true! I have seen these things first hand and worse. God save us as a society 😢
Oh gosh... I've only just started listening but your comment on churches adopting children blew my mind... i am an adoptee... I'm blessed but it does come with the pain of the not knowing... growing up not feeling good enough etc etc... i have a wonderful story of finding my blood and it has all been beautiful... we need to go back to adopting children and getting them out of this awful system xo
What a gift Peterson's Dad gave his wife and son. That upon her death his son had no bad memories of her . I have 5 sons and when my husband was diagnosed with cancer , I had to step into his role for awhile. My relationships with my younger sons suffered as a result of what was necessary. It was then that I realized that my joyful enjoyment of them , especially in their 20s, was a gift from my husband he sacrificed and did what was necessary and I get to enjoy the fruits of that.
Sorry to hear of your loss Dr. Peterson. Praying for you and your family. Very nice to have Tammy join you with this interview. I have tickets for this weekend.

I could not love this more!! Such wisdom from all 5! As a pediatric occupational therapist who has worked with many children in the foster care system through the years, I admire so much what this community has done! Let The Church rise up and do likewise! ✝️
I saw this movie yesterday, and there were plenty of tears in seeing miracles portrayed, some born in conflict, or a need for patience. I think the movie takes you through the hardships so that if you're considering adopting a child, you have an idea of what you will be challenged with. But, good Lord, the blessings that came about... and the epilogue to the film. THAT is the manifestation of the blessings! WOW! Well done!
I'd vote for Dr Peterson to be the next president of the USA, and I'm not even American. I'm Australian, but I love Jordan Peterson. Actually he would be the perfect Canadian prime minister. Much better than that idiot Trudeau.
Excellent episode! Excellent guests! I love having Tammy, she fit in perfectly with the guest panel. I enjoy that JP is testing out his Bible viewpoints with protestants, we need more of that! These guests are true protestants Christians. That's a very good marker that a child has been adopted by a Christian family, it's very rare to get that with a fake Christian, fakes don't want to adopt a child or help with adoption, they're not thinking about helping the orphans.
Sorry for your loss, happy for your memories. I would die gladly to just hug and talk to my parents. They passed years ago. So glad you and your wife have made it through so much.
Thank you - for presenting the fullness of this community’s story. Through this interview we have been blessed to see how the Father is working through them to meet the needs of the children. May His grace and mercy continue to surround this work. 🙏🏼

@@afringedgentian5426 I will look for it. What a compliment to say you have no negative memories of your Mom from 6 decades as a son. Quite remarkable and very convicting.
Really interesting interview. In the UK the adoption system is very politicised. I remember a case of a right of centre couple who were fostering two or three East European children and apparently doing a good job. When it emerged that the couple had voted for UKIP, Nigel Farage's old Eurosceptic political party, the children were removed from the couple ! You can bet that would not have happened had the parents been left of centre. It is always sad to think of the older children being overlooked and having to remain in care. In the UK many children have suffered sexual abuse whilst in care, they are so vulnerable. Great interview as ever.
I met Dr. Peterson when I attended his 12 rules for life in Des Moines, Iowa. . I showed him all my 5 adopted kids from foster care and he gave me advice for the journey. It was a ray of sunshine that I am still thankful for. True Religion of our Father is this. Look after widows and orphans in distress and don’t be polluted by things of this world. Go JP. Hope to see you in Iowa again.
As a mother I am so encouraged by JP and Mrs. Martin to make the best effort to have an impact in the lives of my children. I can only imagine Donna's mom being so absolutely proud of her impact in the lives of her daughter and her grand children.
Condolences to the loss of Dr Peterson’s mother. I believe this interview was a divine appointment to bring comfort to pain. The more a Parent was Loved and Honored during Life, the greater the loss to the child!
The best interview you’ve ever done, Dr. Peterson! I’m very saddened to hear of the loss of your Mother. How blessed you are to have only warm, loving memories of her. ❤️
Great conversation. Lots of red tape really need to be removed from the adoption process here in the United States. It is way too expensive and takes too much time for legitimate couple/individual to adopt. My wife and I would love to adopt.
We’ve adopted and are looking to do it again. Adopting through the foster system is waaaay cheaper than the private way of adopting. Looking back the cost was about the same price as a low to mid-range end car. Foster to adopt has reimbursed costs and there’s the possibility of getting money years after the adoption. The red tape is a barrier to deal with fools who rush in where angels fear to tread and to document for birth families that they are giving their child to a good family. Despite that there are creeps who adopt for the purpose of abuse. I’d like to think that the red tape lets fewer creeps get access to vulnerable children.
James 1:27 pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

Ruth Anne,
I love, love, love your post.

"When the heart breaks,
it opens up."
Empathy comes after experiencing pain as some man said.
The media and tv, teach men and women that their broken heart
can be healed only with materialism, addictions, gambling, sugar addiction, short term pleasure etc
instead of connection and healthy hobbies.
Crying actually means you have empathy, that you may release unwanted emotions and move to
loving and higher state of consciousness.
It actaully may create joy and happiness.
Lol ok
Praying for you, Dr. Peterson, that you will come to know the work of the Holy Spirit in your heart, hear His voice and embrace His leading.

I can't stop crying for joy. I might empty my kleenex box, but will watch every bit!
Gen 24:60 And they blessed Rebekah and said to her: “Our sister, may you become The mother of thousands of ten thousands; And may your descendants possess The gates of those who hate them.” 🌹
I am a stepmother to 6 now adult children. It was not an easy road to travel but I have no regrets.
I love you for not hating the people who raised you!
(as I often see that happens. at encouragement of Satan, no doubt)
@@ElenaLearningForeverToInfinity There would be no reason to do so, none at all. I was so absolutely fortunate.
@@edblain7474 I would be happy to have this conversation and only wish it could be done on the back deck with a cup of tea and a nice view of trees and the pond. Oh dear Dr. Peterson, I'm so sorry about your mother. My deepest condolences. 🖤🖤🖤
"Giving" is essential to having a good life and making other lives good. That is because of it's function in such a social species as us humans. Without the "giving", a human is no longer social, making his life miserable as his essential means aren't met.

Added Jordan to my prayer jar. Thank God his Mom produced this fine fruit.
This episode is so encouraging to me as a young mother to 4 boys. My deepest condolences to the Peterson family❤

WOW! Well done!
As always this is another Great BLESSING for the heart and soul!! I've had my children stolen by the system and hearing this gives me hope!!!

It was fun to watch the country preach teach the Harvard professor. That's just how the Lord will do a thing.

Sorry for the loss of your Mother Dr Peterson. My sincere condolences to your family.
Bishop Martin is so wise. What an inspiration!
I met Dr. Peterson when I attended his 12 rules for life in Des Moines, Iowa. . I showed him all my 5 adopted kids from foster care and he gave me advice for the journey. It was a ray of sunshine that I am still thankful for.

Truth
If God said it, we can do it
