    Dude, you have made a list with all the exact complaints I have with this game. I can track relatively well in every other game especially in Overwatch. But in this game I am so inconsistent with my tracking. And the amount of flick shots that I somehow miss was actually because of the crosshair sway which I have never even noticed was the reason for then missing explains how I somehow lose so many easy gunfights.
    I agree with your list 100%!!

      aim punch and sway are the only ones i fully agree with this video, lost count on how many fights i lost with a wingman because i got cracked and needed one more shot to finish the dude

      ​@@Ottoni174if you're landing headshots your enemies head shouldn't flip away. All it does is punish good aim and is one of the worst mechanics.

      @@Ottoni174 I think excessive visual clutter is also extremely detrimental to gunplay as well. Like getting flashbanged when you break a shield and giant obstructive gun models (wish we could turn off viewmodels like in TF2). Controllers are less impacted by visual clutter in gunfights due to aim assist allowing players to stay on target much more effectively through blinding clutter.

    Dont forget that reloading throws your crosshair to the top left for no reason before returning to same place when done reloading

      Controller is fucking rubbish. I have over 2500 hours on apex with a controller and nearly 8 years on fps with a controller. Aiming is the only thing I struggle with. I practice super hard and for a ridiculous amount of time yet my aim remains mediocre and sometimes regresses. I plugged in a kbm i dont even have a day on it and my aim is infinitely better than it ever has been on controller. Theres a reason controller has aim assist and its because its a terrible input device

      @@IDKWHAT2NAMETHISS 12 years on roller and 5 on MnK. You need to fix some settings if you can’t aim with controller my guy. And I don’t mean that to be a dick, it’s positive to try new things. For reference, I was top ten on PubG before it died years ago on an Xbox controller, no paddles or configs. Had immaculate ak47 aim… Always stay positive and never take the easy route. Keep working hard and remember to relax and enjoy the ride.

    Mechanic 6: controller AA helps assist all of these effecting your aim. Making controller yet again another meta input for crossplay games. Can we have like 2-3 crossplay games that is MnK meta please.

      Yeah any high TTK game requiring tracking aim is crossplay with aim-assisted controllers nowadays except Quake. It's the last mnk game that requires tracking aim. It's very sad to see. Halo Infinite does have ranked duos where you can queue with only mnk though but I think it's pretty hard to get a match.

    My addition to this would be to disable any crosshair movement in the screen. It annoys me especially when using peacekeeper.

    It’s crazy that apex is one of the most popular games these days when veteran players will vouch for how broken it is. It’s literally being held together with glue and popsicle sticks under the hood.

    The visibility in this game is awful because of the random effects they have. Bullet impacts, tracers explosions etc. Watching it in slow motion in this video upsets me even more. Just another reason why controller has an advantage now.

    Apex never grabbed me and something about the gunplay always felt off this explains why. Wildly different ttk in shields levels back when I played was also frustrating. also explains why I liked the re 45 so much recoil while sideways was at least consistently in the same direction.

    You missed one. When ADS’d some reticles on the iron sights of weapons MOVE while rotating your screen even though the bullets go to the center of your screen. This is most notable on the CAR SMG. Try it in the firing range with an on screen dot.

    As for recoil patterns, I've always disliked the mechanic in a movement-heavy high-ttk game. A much more fitting method would be something like the Battlefield games (especially BF1). Basically, every weapon class has spread/bloom. I know a lot of people hate spread mechanics and view them as casual and unskillful, but hear me out.
    Each weapon's first shot would have zero spread and increase up to a max value with subsequent shots. The recovery period is set in a way that depending on distance you can vary your burst length for optimal hitrate. And each weapon or weapon class would have different values. This would require mastering each weapon based on range-to-target. If you wait for full spread reset, you will hit 100% of your shots if aiming perfectly, but you may be missing out on DPS if the enemy is close enough that your spread value is still within the level to hit your target with longer bursts or full-auto.
    The mechanic is perfect for games with huge play areas like Battlefield or BR games. It allows for skill-expression through mastering each weapon's optimum fire-rate to maximize DPS at different ranges instead of jerking your camera around. Recoil smoothing and all it's problems would not need to exist if combined with a good spread model and minor vertical recoil like in BF games.

    I'm sure these things intentionally exist to make aim less important and give the game flavour and depth beside aim. Any shooter i can think of has some things that "sabotage" your aim. In tac fps like cs go you have weapon inaccuracies and recoil, in arena shooters like quake you have weapon knockback, in moba shooters like overwatch you have abilities that knock you around or stun you and ulitmates that can wipe out the enemy team without any aim and in Fortnite someone can just build a wall in your face.
    If you don't want these things there is quake lg 1v1 or instagib. These are definitely fun modes but they are not popular

    Head and torso wobble is probably a grace mechanic for the person getting shot- the head disappearing is probably so you CANT just laser someone to the head with an r99. It’s perhaps the games attempt to give a fair time to react

    16+ years of gaming experience now. Absolutely agree, though I would keep weapon sway. That wouldn’t be bad if the other things you mentioned were updated and it’s been a mechanic for some time now in many of my favorite games though most games make it much less noticeable.

    All good points. Another mechanic that annoys me in the same vein is the random hipfire spread on most weapons, sure maybe it should be there to some degree on some weapons for balance sake but overall it just feels bad especially when the weapons generally have small magazine sizes relative to player health and slowing down to ADS limits your movement. It's likely that Respawn's Call of Duty DNA influences this specific mechanic philosophy, among others.

    I think you're the first one to mention the Weird Head Tilting thing. I agree, it's so unfair. Maybe it's a thing with Bangalore only? since Bang is my main and I've realized that I take less damage when I play her. Or it could be a Helmet breaking thing?
    Unfortunately Apex Legends is probably the worst game when it comes to "listening to the players" or "Fixing things that are game breaking", they didn't even provide a Middle East Servers when all other big FPS games did around 2 years ago.
    U wanna see something buggy since they added Nvidia Reflex:
    Go it the Firing Range, pick an R99 with gold extended mag, stand on the middle of the far right platform, then move back few steps while facing the Dummy until u are about 2m out of the platform.
    Now, while having Nvidia Reflex on Boost, start ADS on the scopes lying on the platform and start shooting, keep your eyes on your FPS counter, and see how your Frames are behaving.
    Do the same with Nvidia Reflex Disabled, and see the difference.
    This thing has been bothering my aim a lot, it could be more noticeable in game for me coz my ping is around 120-150, so this thing adds even more disadvantage to me, but since I've Disabled NR, I've been doing waaay more better and playing way more relaxed than before, I Disabled it around 6 months ago.
    I hope you would consider doing a video regarding it and testing it yourself. Maybe the Devs would finally wake up before their game endup like Pubg.

    6:37 I remeber old days when every single reddit complaint had a REALISM reason behind it, especially with non existing audio, up until devs said not even them know why is it fked up 😂😂😂 cant wait for CS2 to stop playing this money milking mess of the game, 4 years long still has same issues that it had since release, waste of time, and btw its pointless to complain about anything mentioned in this video, any high time to kill game where you need to track enemies is controller game, with Overwatch ea exception maybe 🤔

    Minor thing: Making the optics taller takes up more of your screen when hipfiring. I know you're not a hipfire enjoyer, but I am, and a 2x4 on my ARs is actually pretty annoying close up because of it's height.
    You didn't mention visual clutter as one of the 5 because it's not really a mechanic, but it is also a primary complaint of mine. There's no real benefit to it and it's a shadow buff to AA, which works through visual clutter. Note I don't mean Bang smoke or Cat walls - those aren't visual clutter, those are intentional LOS deniers. I mean more about the muzzle flash, snow particles, L-star bullets, and items/pings that are there even while you ADS.

    the reason all of these features are implemented is to narrow down the skill difference between players so that it's enjoyable for a larger audience. this way the main focus of the game isn't aiming like most fps, but positioning or tactics. i've seen preds that aim like golds but play smarter.

    Iron Sights needs to be improved i agree on that. Nothing else really. Apex Legends have an unique aiming mechanics, as well as movement, and it should stay like that.
    Kovaaks is one thing, Apex is an actual game.

    due to aim punch flesh health is basically useless

    What advice can you give for immediate reaction to enemy changing his moving direction while tracking? Any training methods for that skill?

      You need to really focus on your enemy and reading their movements. They have animations that turn the character BEFORE you are off target. Your goal is to start reacting when that turning happens, not when you are missing. I know that sounds simple, but it is a huge difference and most people don't actively focus enough to do that. You'll find that your reactivity actually makes huge leaps and bounds. Kovaaks scenarios with a humanoid target (Iike Unpredictable Strafes Humanoid) are good for this.

      If you use controller, the game does this for you so if you need help there’s not much to say other than gitgud.
      If you’re mnk, then here’s this for you. when you ad strafe, you have to accelerate in the opposite direction, and this acceleration is NOT infinite. Meaning your character will take time to slow down from +173 to 0 then accelerate to -173 (173 is ads strafe speed fyi) try to read and start reacting when your enemy starts slowing down. This happens very very fast, about 10s of milliseconds. But starting the reaction early can make a world of difference when it comes to hitting shots. Good luck grinding

      ​@@illegitimate0 There is also a problem with focusing on enemy with eyes, cause you first start focusing, but then you need to place crosshair on head, and thats not really happening, i just cant adjust crosshair on targets head, even with peripheral vision, what can help to fix it?

    They seem to want to keep in things like sway to keep good players from being "too good" at the game. If everything was purely based on skill, there would be an even bigger gap between top and bottom players.

      @@ValentineNTT It effects good players much more than bad players. If a bad player relies on lucky shots to get kills anyway, randomness actually increases the chance of hitting poorly aimed shots. Randomness has the opposite effect on well aimed shots, making good players less consistent than they would be otherwise. This lowers the skill gap by pushing bad players up a bit and good players down a bit. Granted, in a game as complex as Apex, it actually has a fairly small effect on the skill gap overall as there are a lot of things like game knowledge and movement skill that makes a player good or bad.

    The headwobble kinda makes sense to me, I think it there to prevent huge spikes of headshots to keep the TTK reasonable. it there was no head wobble to introduce RNG you could potentially kill redshields with an R9 in 0.8 seconds, which would feel disgusting.
