I agree with you the upgrade should be cheaper or free with using the same engine, but I do agree the CPU using less power is a total bonus if you are using this all the time in your DAW. I dont see me upgrading to be honest for that price.
hi paul, as a long time user of lush 101, totally agree 100% with your comments , for me not worth upgrading, done all the same tests and not much change, or improvements , but if i was new to lush 2, and not purchased 101 then i would buy it
i have lush-101 + lush-2 and Phoscyon-2, for the first experience to see it im not really care about the sounds, but the UI make me want to buy it 😅 d16 really doing great job + very good quality products
The filter sound like more harmonic's. Reverb as sounded like harmonic distortion.Load is great to know Thank you for your look. I have been using for at least 5 years/ This is more of a update not a upgrade Thank you I was on the fence. I don't use it as much for load reasons so I wont miss the update
Hi Paul, thank you for this comparison video. Extremely informative. What it boils down to for me is the timing. Let me explain:- Had Version 101 been on the market for a month or so, people would be screaming for a fix in the optimization. Then this version 2 update would not have been a rework, but more of going from a Beta to a Final. The fact it has been on the market for SO long, they can get away with calling this a rework! Personally, rather than go for this, I would much rather choose Tone2's Icarus 3 as that is a very real update!
Thank you, brother. What is shocking is that D16 does not even have a promotional video of LUSH 2 on its UA-cam channel. Talk about not giving a d*mn about your own product.
Don't talk nonsense bro. Do you even know what kind of long term dedication goes on at a small audio software company? I actually know these nerds at D16, and I can tell you they fkn care a lot about their products. Have a great day.
Yes, sounds the same as 101 which I have. Depending on the preset or patch you make it is a CPU hog. Like the name says, it’s lush sounds are good for pads and lead synths but for bass I’d use a different synth such as Diva. I love Diva. Diva can do it all. No I won’t be upgrading to Lush 2. My Lush 101 will continue to grow cob webs. Thanks for the review.
I can't remote control my Lush 101.VST2 . Running under Reason 12 DAW.. I have an Akai MPK 249 connected directly via USB..Why cannot control any parameter? 😢
I didn't ever enjoy Lush1. I sold it and got TAL-Bassline101. It's very simple and has that retro synth kind of vibe. I found there was just too much diving in the Lush for me. Anyways, thanks for the vids, as always!
same here in every aspect, as a user of version 1. today they sent me an upgrade offer (again) and they still ask 39 EUR. (26 April 2024). Still too much for using it rarely. This is not much of an upgrade, but more of a better update, as other folks have already stated. 25 EUR would be my maximum price. thanks for your video
Good review. I heard you mention that you imported your Lush V1 presets into Lush 2. How did you do that? I have a bunch of 3rd party Lush 101 V1 preset banks (not the factory banks) but I can't figure out any way to import them into Lush 2. Thanks.
I never used lush 101, but I'm impressed by the sound quality of lush 2, sounds very "open" compared to a lot of other synths and I like being able to stack sounds within the patch. It's cool.
I am dissapointed. I thought that it will be now more similar to Roland SH-101. Something that they do with Phoscyon 2. I thought 101 as version 2 now will be beast but they didn't improve oscillators. Basically same synth, there are some cosmetic changes only. I am dissapointed. Softube Model 82 still the best.
Nice video but maybe it would be helpful to give some specs of your computer to give viewers some idea of how power hungry plugins might fair on their system. It's all relative.
D16 seem to be behind the times a bit on this one, the price tag doesn't match the product, Though what put me off Lush 101 has always been stablity, missing notes and chocking the soundcard to a halt. If that has improved it could be worth a 3rd of the asking price
It' hard to rate this synth. From one side it's pretty basic, modulation is basic, there is no FM modulation (LFO too slow). There are only 2 filter models (3 if you count HPF). For all that it's not cheap, you could almost get U-he Diva for that money. On the other hand the basic tone of oscillators and filters sounds really rich and good plus effects make it even better. I think the version 2 should have provided more modulations in order to keep up with the competition now it's a bit of missed opportunity.
I own it and there No Way I would pay that much? It gotten to the point where I'm reluctant to use all the 30+ plugin synth I already have and the ones that come included in the DAWs are high quality. Too many synths out now and the industry is becoming saturated with synths.
Heeey! What do you think about Lush-2? Planning to upgrade on buy it? Lemme know down below!
I agree with you the upgrade should be cheaper or free with using the same engine, but I do agree the CPU using less power is a total bonus if you are using this all the time in your DAW. I dont see me upgrading to be honest for that price.
the upgrade is supreme and a must have if you got already v1.👍
Thanks!

Very thorough. Thank you for the detailed investigation. You’re right, the upgrade cost is a bit high considering what you get for it.

@@njdpdv You sound like an incel.
@@njdpdv Exactly...promo video? lol... who cares, they can put that money elsewhere, like future product development.

Diva is unbeatable so far. True.
I can't remote control my Lush 101.VST2 . Running under Reason 12 DAW..

Sorry, bu I have no idea, I'm not a Reason user...
You gotta enable the host parameter control in the parameter section of the synth

No problem, thank you too!
hello great show i just got the lush2 looks pretty nice!!
Have fun and let me know when you make a track using it!
Thank you for this comparison, like you I don't use lush 101 a lot so I won't upgrade. Merci beaucoup from Paris 👍
Merci/dziękuję from Poland!

I didn't actually. All the LuSH-101 presets are there in Lush-2!
@@FoliaSound Thanks, did you have any 3rd party presets from Lush V1? I have 3rd party presets but they didn't transfer to V2.
LuSH-101 is one of my favorite soft synths so I was excited to see that LuSH-2 became a thing 🙂
Nice to hear that!

I feel you. Btw, the battle to compare virtual SH-101 is a great idea!

so... can lush 2 play all lush 101 presets, not just the factory sounds ?
Yes, I think so. The preset list is actually LuSH-101 with extras added!
you forget you are on camera ;) so you must show like and support opposite haha, great video
I'm not afraid to say I don't like something :) Cheers!
@@FoliaSound no no , i mean you say "like" here and "subscribe " there but you show the wrong places as its mirrored in cam ;)
Will my Lush 101 custom presets work with Lush 2?
They should :)
25 EUR Ipgrade Price would have been a banger. 45 EUR is to much especially because U-He is sounding somehow a bit nicer...
Nice video but maybe it would be helpful to give some specs of your computer to give viewers some idea of how power hungry plugins might fair on their system. It's all relative.
Sure thing. Ryzen 5900X, 64 GB 3600 RAM!
@@FoliaSound Thanks!
Lush101 was already so good, lush2 is just better
I don't think you'll find a more honest review on this upgrade. Thank you very much and, no, I'll save the money.
No problem, thanks!
I am very heavy user of Lush so for me it was worth the upgrade...thanks for the comparison, cheers
Cheers, Johnny, good to see you back!
Absolutely agree. The preset section is now a little bit wierd but synth has a very special character

Same here
Good to know, thanks!
Bardzo dobrze ujęte
Dzięki, Artur!
