Great explanation of the gimbal bearing also a quick note, don’t run your engine with the drive all the way up, you’ll put a lot of stress on the gimbal bearing and u joints, thanks Michael 👍😁
Good morning Dave, thank you…great quick note…and wait a second…do you have (VIP inside access) to our upload Queue…?…😁👍
That’s literally the next video in position for upload. That’s so awesome!
We discuss the importance of knowing your outdrives limits when trimming up and to the trailer position.

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders no I don’t have VIP access, but that’s okay, I just enjoy your videos

We’re just kidding, no such thing here as a VIP Queue….just our regular upload Queue we have on our HQ company login.

Junk new design! I'm still running the original 1984 gimbal bearing on my Sea Ray because I can grease it all the time and it doesn't Wear out
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts, always welcome here. There’s nothing wrong with your approach and using original grease design bearing.
We decided to switch to the sealed bearing as we found it best for our mission moving forward.
You can share your thoughts any time, hope you have a good weekend.

Hiw do u manually grease a gimbal bearing? Mine is the old style.
Good morning ☕️ we can hopefully help. Although we don’t specifically grease Gimbal Bearing in the video below, we do mention the grease fitting where you would hook up grease gun and grease Grease Gimbal Bearing.

Thank you, and good morning ☕️
excellent video, thanks for the great explanations! I recently removed my mercruiser 3.0 l LX engine from my boat, and rebuilt the engine. I have also removed the stern drive, and am currently preparing to replace the gimbal bearing, bellows, and water tube on the transom assembly. My question is this: Should I replace the gimbal bearing and then install the engine, and then align the engine to the new gimbal bearing, or should I install the engine prior to replacing the gimbal bearing, align the engine to the old gimbal bearing, and then replace the gimbal bearing? I hope that question made sense. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. Hope all is well. 🧰
