Many a late night did my father and I sat and listened to this.
I stting on the floor and Dad in his chair, never missing a word. His lips moved as he mouthed every word, without a sound. My father has been gone,oh for almost 30 years. I miss ya, Dad.

We had this album when we were kids, 40+ years ago. Loved it then, love it now. Thanks for sharing it!

Hank Snow does a nice version of this on his tales of the yukon album but Tex Ritter owns it, it's a perfect rendition. My dad at 85 still always request I do this old poem when we get out the guitars. I love it. Sad so few still do the narrations of old.

Your welcome, to tell you the truth when i first got this album the first song on it was blood on the saddle, and i hated how it sounded it made me want to rip my eyes out, so i put it up never to touch it, until one day i was bored and decided to give it another chance i listened to the whole thing and came to love each and ever song.

I own this album and it being quite worn it is difficult to listen to. I love Tex Ritters' version of this time honored verse. Thank you for uploading it.
