What a family. Forgiveness is to help the victim more than the victimizer. It releases their power over you and helps you heal. These girls and their dad are amazing.
Therapists tell you a lot of crap . And one that's most common is forgiveness . You've got to be a masochist or an absolute Saint to forgive somebody who hurts you that deeply
Absolutely not. That is a lie told by the forgiveness industrial complex. It is perfectly possible to go on with your life without pretending that what some psychopath did to you is ok. This does not help victims heal, it forces them to pretend they are healed. Victims are entitled to their anger and they are entitled to justice. But society fears an angry victim so they pressure victims to neutralize themselves with this "forgiveness" BS so society doesn't have to listen to their pain any more and can just move along to the next outrage.
@@nouvel0001 Because it's not about the other person, it's about you. As she said, she felt free once she forgave him. That's so much better than carrying around hate and anger for the rest of your life.

What a joke...Taylor gets the death sentence & Deli gets life in prison. 34 yrs later they're both still living, so why the difference in sentencing? Death penalties are a joke since most die before it happens or the state gets rid of it ! 💀☠😡
Death sentences must be expedited to one year at most. Get one emergency appeal. If rejected, carried out immediately. That's justice. Amazing that even in states like Utah, this penalty is not executed properly, promptly, if ever.

I hope that person has had a terrible life because they only way they could sympathize with pure evil is if they themselves are evil.
I agree fully
You are an evil person yourself to think like that. sad.
@@RevLeigh55 NOPE.
@@RevLeigh55 No, she's right, that juror deprived the family of the justice they deserved!
If this thing happened nowadays, someone would dox their details in a second.
What an amazing father! He beat death to protect his babies!
This family utterly defines bravery, courage and perseverance...a beautiful example of good conquering evil.
The fact that the women and their dad rebuilt the cabin and they spend so much time there is so powerful. They now call the cabin “healing”. Their resilience is incredible.
37:51 this brought tears to my eyes.. that is one of the best compliments you can give someone, knowing he would take care of his baby after he is gone..
this story is so sad & heartbreaking but also a true triumph of character. ❤
I knew this family. Went to the same church when i visited my dad in the summers. Trisha was one of the strongest girls i knew & the family is all rock stars! Unbelievable story! Good to see them in a good spot in their lives. They deserve great things.
These two beautiful sisters describe this entire traumatic event with so much emotion and clarity. God bless them both, and their sweet Dad & uncle. 😢❤
What one talks and acts like a little girl still .. js
I am so glad that those awful men didn’t ruin the special place for that family!!
I'm from Germany, and this was one of the first true crime stories I watched in English about ten years ago. I've never forgotten that courageous, wonderful family; they often cross my mind! ❤️
What a family. Forgiveness is to help the victim more than the victimizer. It releases their power over you and helps you heal. These girls and their dad are amazing.
I wonder if the other sister ever forgave them?
I always say that I can accept what happened to me and I can make peace with the fact that it happened but that doesn’t mean I forgive the person that did it. Some people don’t deserve your forgiveness. That’s just my perspective though. If someone wants to forgive then that’s up to them.
They had no mercy and deserved no mercy. To the single juror that granted mercy, karma.
Saving a monster's life as if that would save the world. That single juror should have been in the victims shoes
@coffeenteamorning1004 That juror was an idiot!
I already watched this episode on a Marathon but I'm gonna watch it again because 48 Hours is awesome!
MY MOST SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO LINAE AND TRICIA🙏🏻
Holidays are never the same without loved one's
True, they're not 😢 I remember a great uncle coming to my grandmas on Christmas morning 1989 the day my great grandma passed otherwise he would have been at home with his family, as the oldest he was the one telling bad news. I'm lucky to have known my great grandma, I'm 52 now and I remember saying to my mom..who was taking it hard that today is Jesus birthday and also great grandpa would be 100 yrs. old. Everyone please stay safe and have a wonderful Christmas
"The cabin is healing" what a beautiful statement from the daughter tothe place where love and tragedy intertwined. But love prevailed!
Cruel to treat the girls that way in court
30 years after the crime, a death row sentence *still* had not been completed? Why even have one?
Some states the liberals are in power and don’t want the DP. For example Ca has many on Death row. Governor newsome said they will not be held up in his term of Gov.
I guess it just gives them longer to know their death is coming.
@@TamiTribbiani-im1go Yeh, that would be awful. Guess prison's not that bad. If it were me, I think I'd check on out. 🤷🏼♀
The pain in the little sister eyes just show the horror she went through
What a sad story. 😢 In the father willingness to live. Wow what a story.
I do not cry easily, but when Dad died in this one, it took me out. What a beautiful family. I cannot even begin to imagine how hard this has all been for them. May the rest of their lives bring peace and love to them all ❤
One of my FAVORITE episodes… so much love here!
I think describing someone as “flawed perfection” is beautiful and I’m glad the sisters were able to find beauty after such a nightmare.
What a nightmare and it is crazy, but I feel, the fact they opened the presents not meant for them is somehow an evil act in itself…
Absolutely. It's sick
Overall”Christmas”and the origin of it is evil.
Yes!! So sick and violating.
When you have a sister you can do anything. Sister strong❤️
Dad is a superhero.
Amazing resilient sisters...💜💜💜
What an amazing dad and uncle
I cannot even believe that they would have a victim relive and act out with the actual gun
I totally agree. That was so cruel to make them hold the same gun and act out the crime.
@ I guess they didn’t think back then at what the consequences would be to those beautiful girls to not only live through that kind of trauma, but to RE-LIVE it is almost worst. 😔
This whole family exudes strength, smarts and resilience. The girls are heros for trying to save the life of uncle randy, uncle randy is a hero for saving his brother, and dad is a hero for trying to save his daughters while on death's door himself! Amazing!
To the Girls: I’m so sorry this terrible thing happened to y’all, and so sorry for the loss of your Grams, your mom, and later your dad. Your bravery during these horrible events is beyond impressive. Even to tell your story now is bravery to the max. May you continue to know Peace and Healing ❤❤
@@ReVoltaire yeah I agree for the obvious cases
Tena campbell. Note that name. Overturned Taylors conviction 30 years on. Poor diddums didnt get a proper defense apparently! Liberal judges are a menace.
Best 48 Hours episode yet
Every single person in the family is a hero especially their dad trying to save his daughters let all of us call him a superhero.
Your dad is one of a kind, a true hero❤
True definition of what Dads are put on the earth to do. Nothing else matters.
the one guy opening gifts looks like the one from home alone
Except like the version from hell.
I thought the same thing
My first thought also. So weird.
True!
Incredible story....and an amazing turning of bad into good. Love conquered evil...Amen.
Wow!! 2 very beautiful strong young ladies!! I can’t imagine!! Your Mom and Grams are looking down with smiles so very proud of you!! May the rest of your lives be filled with nothing but joy and happiness and love!! God bless your family!!
Two morons devastated a family just before Christmas. The hero of the day was the father who stayed alive to try to protect his daughters. What bravery and love that dad, daughters and uncle portrayed that awful day. That mother and grandmother that died looked such kind and loving people that I felt real anger at those murderers. I am pleased that the girls got their lives together after the tragedy.
OMG so moving. What an incredible family. An example of how people should be for the world to be a better place - and how brave, courageous and self-less those involved in that nightmare were. I’m in awe. Bless them and their families
