24 hours ago Colin said Purdy wasn't getting paid, shouldn't be resigned, and has heavily regressed.

yeah he just pretends he didn't say the opposite the day before. Brock is a top 5-8 qb, he has been his entire career.
"Pay the man his money": Proof on Purdy - 10% of his throws at line of scrimmage or behind the line (LOWEST in NFL), 31% of his yardage is from YAC (LOWEST in NFL), Throw difficulty 65.4% (2 HIGHEST only to J. Daniels right now), 58% of throws past 15 yards (3rd only to Burrow and Mahomes). Since week 14 2022 when he played... 1st most points per game 29.3, Most yards (as a team) 400.5 per game, Yards per play 6.6 yards. Any more doubt? He can have a bad game here and there...only one I can think is last year vs Ravens.

The situation with the Jets is confusing and controversial because there’s no clarity… There’s no clarity because the decision to fire Robert Saleh was emotional and impulsive. You don’t fire your head coach when he is 2-3, has his side of the ball working and hasn’t lost the locker room. He’s not Bill O’Brien with the Texans. He’s literally building something and has his side of the ball working, and was about to make changes to make his other side of the ball working. I get that the 20-36 record is telling, but you don’t fire your head coach _on a Tuesday after he spent Monday prepping for the next week_ after five games at 2-3, if you were willing to bring him back for 2024 to begin with. it was emotional after getting embarrassed in front of his compadres.
They should try to lock up Purdy up with a four year deal with a 50M or less APY, 50% GTD at signing and big signing bonus to keep the team intact for a couple more years instead of the usual 5-6 year market deal. Purdy still gets a bag, the shorter deal ensures he'll be back for another one sooner, and they should have more flexibility than a team like Dallas.

All these conversations are neat but it really comes down to 1 thing and it always has and always will. Can you draft well? If you can draft well you'll have an expensive QB and good players that you drafted. If you can't you'll stink either way. That's really all it is.
This and coaching. Coaching matters. Look at Minnesota. Darnold has never looked like this. And their defense is balling out with B+ players everywhere.
Purdy is starting to remind me of Fran Tarkington from the 60s. Tarkington scrambled like crazy, not the biggest arm, made play after play...very frustrating for the defense. For you younger people...go look at Tarkington highlights.

I'd be careful what you pay Purdy....he's not on the level of a Josh Allen or a Lamar Jackson.....players who can put the whole team on their shoulder. Purdy is a average QB at best and he is lucky to have Kyle Shanahan as his play caller.....lets not make him out to be Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. He needs too much around him to succeed.....so be careful when you back that brinks truck....just look at Deshawn Watson......one wrong move and the franchise is handcuffed for the next decade.

Lamar is 2-4 in the playoffs playing on teams with just as much talent overall as the niners so you’re wrong there. Allen is prone to turnovers & always trying to do to much. Purdy has better pocket presence & processing than both those guys & he’s pretty mobile as well. I’ve seen enough to comfortably say pay the guy.
