The shift in tone at 2:41 gave me that feeling of no return, no friends to fall back on, and a desperate fight for survival. I have beaten this boss and lost to him (many times admittedly) and both endings give me that feeling I had when I first saw the secret ending of the original Kingdom Hearts. Wondering what would come next. Will we finally get the Kingdom Hearts version of Versus XIII? Will it move away from Disney properties and focus on what has been coin'd the Nomuraverse? Who knows...

I mean with Similis and Heartless, in order to bring back the original person you have to kill both entities. And it's in the same universe where in order to activate some mechanisms, you just have to beat the crap out of it with your keyblade and it's what you're supposed to do ! xD So yeah, still amazes to this day though

The Yozora boss theme is not really "fantasy" but more real life (like being in a society) which VERSUS XIII was supposed to be (Based on Reality). The music is also very closed to Chopin Etude Revolutionary is more for Nomura since it was out of his control that hes been kicked from the Final Fantasy XV project which makes him mad. Yoko has always been good at creating music that tells the story of the characters. I think this is one of her masterpiece since she properly delivered the story of what "Yozora" was supposed to represent and how Nomura felt when hes been kicked from the project. Truly Yoko never stop to impress us.
Yozora's weapons may also be a reference to Magitek. In Final Fantasy Magitek is powered up by siphoning or even absorbing magic from magical sources such as crystals and espers, imbuing users and machines to use both magic and technology to their advantage. In every Final Fantasy game that Magitek appears in its used by military characters, and Yozora in this game is being referred to as "commander."
3:20 when you know this man is about to straight up murder you, and then proceeds to do so. I could hear the confusion and fear in Sora’s voice. The very first time I felt true fear for Sora in this series.
I love how a character we feel and know nothing about yet could strike such an intimidating and commanding presence. After all he's faced, Sora shouldn't be scared of Yozora, but he still just is.
It should be noted that Nomura has, at one point, stated that he intended FFvsXIII to be a game that would eventually overlap with the Kingdom Hearts lore in some capacity. Given the similarities to Noctis, some have concluded Yozora is actually Noctis' Nobody. In my humble opinion, due to time travel being an increasingly relevant part of the lore in Kingdom Hearts, it could also be concluded that Yozora and his world are part of, in a sense, an alternate timeline version of VSXIII. Think of him as a stand-in for the Noctis that Tabata had unwillingly taken from Nomura. With that in mind, Yozora could have been Noctis had vsXIII finished as Nomura had intended; however, seeing as it had not, obviously, since vsXIII was not, in its entirety, realized, Nomura must fill in the gaps this new character creates, even if it is obvious who he truly represents. In short, Yozora, in reality, is a copy of Nomura's Noctis, and the games to come will fill in the gaps the secret episode left behind because of it, rather than being easily explainable in a game that already exists (i.e. vsXIII). All of this because the Luminous Engine was a chore to work with. I can't help but wonder how long it would have taken to make KH3 using that engine.
This theory has some merit to it. Also take into consideration what the Nameless Star said “They took away my name and everything about me” it’s possible that this girl is the Verum Rex version of Stella from Versus who had everything about her taken and changed into Luna from XV

I felt like you at LEAST needed Oathkeeper/Oblivion for this fight. Light/Dark Form's Barrier block was VERY useful for blocking his tele-sword attack and most of his swarm attacks during his DM
@@OrganizationXIII That omnidirectional barrier is part of the problem with how extreme the combat has gotten. Being able to block in all directions and being able to just have your attacks auto track and hit has made the combat way easier between 2 and 3 than it was back in 1. 2 was the start of the downfall in the combat system. 3 is just the more refined version of 2's combat.

People are thinking Yozora knows someone else named "Sora" (Might have been the girl from the Verum Rex trailer), Yozora's dialogue in Final World implies this ("Why are you using Sora's name?") and that's what led up to this fight, Yozora possibly thinking that Sora is some sort of imposter when it really was just a freaky coincidence.

I felt like you at LEAST needed Oathkeeper/Oblivion for this fight. Light/Dark Form's Barrier block was VERY useful for blocking his tele-sword attack and most of his swarm attacks during his DM
Sora should have that barrier block by default like Aqua and Riku
@@OrganizationXIII That omnidirectional barrier is part of the problem with how extreme the combat has gotten. Being able to block in all directions and being able to just have your attacks auto track and hit has made the combat way easier between 2 and 3 than it was back in 1. 2 was the start of the downfall in the combat system. 3 is just the more refined version of 2's combat.
@@NovusIgnis I just feel Sora should be able to do it since he is the protagonist of the series! He is now a keyblade master just like all the others ! Also do you think we are getting a Verum Rex game in 2022? Than KH4 in 2023? I think the KH 20th anniversary event will reveal something to us.
@@NovusIgnis I also think his standard block is something he should of only used in KH 1 since he wasn’t that strong at that point in the game! By KH3 he should be able to teleport and attack just like the organization members and Yozora and Noctis! And have that magic barrier as his default block! He came a long way since KH1 ! The next KH game better do him justice!
@@OrganizationXIII Sora lost most of his powers in KH DDD during the mark of mastery exam. Even at the start of KH3 the story goes along and mentions about this. So it would make sense that one of the powers he lost is the reflect/barrier from KH2. But anyways he still has that barrier block like Aqua/Riku if he uses Oathkeeper or Oblivion keyblade transformation

People are thinking Yozora knows someone else named "Sora" (Might have been the girl from the Verum Rex trailer), Yozora's dialogue in Final World implies this ("Why are you using Sora's name?") and that's what led up to this fight, Yozora possibly thinking that Sora is some sort of imposter when it really was just a freaky coincidence.

Unfortunately, that music is tied to a pre-rendered cutscene so we don't have access to it unless it is used in future games... I truly love it as well so I hope to hear it again!!!
