These guys are getting to the point where I'm not 100% convinced they don't have a shrink ray somewhere and are just shrinking full sized machines. This looks fantastic and seems to play really well going by this vid. Awesome review man

This one looks amazing. I may pick it up. Every time I look at the ones I have the nostalgia comes flying back. They do an amazing job! I have the change machine and arcade carpet mats as well. I only have room for a couple more so I am being very selective on the ones I am picking up. Food fight looks very interesting. I love the look of the cabinet.

You're review, seeing the finished product live now, I'm going to get one. What really sold me was that new screen filter they tried out. The reasons I didn't pre-order this one was I wasn't sure how that CRT idea would pan out and how the small volcano buttons would effect gameplay (they're so tiny). But since they nailed the CRT aesthetic and I realized I'm like you, I don't play these much, I like displaying them, I'm going to pick this one up. I clicked on the link you provided and signed up to be notified when sales go live.

Imagine the possibilities if New Wave or Numskull either produced 3/4 scale cabinets or if they partnered with one of the other manufacturers.

That delay is normal. You're supposed to see the explosion then hear it after. I believe they are going for the fact that you are at your command center so you would see the explosion before hearing it. Original Atari version is the same way.

These toys are incredible! I have them all and will continue to grab em. It’s like owning my own mini arcade. And Yes, i have John connor playing it in my arcade!

Hey nice machine looks really nice. Remember light is faster than sound so they got it right in real life if you see an explosion from far it takes a few seconds to hear it. 🤪 Great review wish they made these even larger love the details.

I have an idea for a tabletop Replicade display. Make a tiny arcade. You can get some fabric or even carpet that is brightly designed and is responsive to UV light and put them next to each other or you can have a display with two sides you can play on.
They actually sell a carpet directly from New Wave Toys for your dioramas on their website an arcade carpet

Yeah I gotta pile on other thoughts. I hope these tiny cabs are test runs and the end goal being to get into 3/4 cab market. There's room and a need for the competition. Do you think they have the financial capabilities to jump in? I hope so.
I would personally love to see them attempt that. I've always been very pleased with their stuff for the most part.

@@PDubsArcadeLoft See I'm thinking of things outside of the Box if they produce that technology technology for regular LCD screens they would make a killing because everybody that with own a regular arcade that put an LCD screen on arcade one of they come in Sizes and 19 and 17 You obviously talk to these guys they shouldn do that because in all honest-to-God I would buy 5 tomorrow!!

How is it to play on? It looks like you'd get carpal tunnel after five minutes given how squished everything is Also, Missile Command gets notoriously difficult very quickly, is this a nightmare after a couple of levels? Looks like it would get frustrating to control when the challenge ramps up.
I know this is off subject, but didn't you have a tutorial on how to fix an adapter once it loses power or shorts out? I think the inside fuse shorted out on mine. I would appreciate the help. The company is charging me $20 for a new adapter and $20 shipping! Ugh 😳

I don't think there's any audio delay. I just fired up Missile Command on my Tempest Arcade1Up to compare... the explosion sound doesn't happen the moment your missile explodes; it happens after the expanding explosion causes one of the enemy missiles to explode. So the more you lead the incoming missiles, the more the delay.
I'm not fan of the CRT "lens". The magnification is a little too exaggerated, IMO, and I don't like all the reflections it causes.
Trackball is a kinda janky, at least on mine. Movement with the trackball on my Centipede replicade is super smooth; it's actually rather amazing how well it works. But on my Missile Command, the crosshair is kinda jittery / jumpy. And if you spin the trackball hard, the cursor barely moves.
Is it me, or does it seem like the max brightness of the screen isn't as high as previous cabinets? (even after cranking the setting all the way up).
The cabinet itself is absolutely gorgeous; they nailed that aspect of it.
Thank you for confirming the audio. That's why I asked the viewers opinion. I think the trackball works fine for what it is, if it was completely free rolling maybe it would be better. Did you adjust the sensitivity?
@@PDubsArcadeLoft Turning off the "Trackball XL" setting, and leaving the sensitivity at Medium seems to work best for me. By disabling the XL setting, I can do quick rolls of the trackball to get the crosshair moved from one side of the screen to the other. With the XL setting On, hard rolls of the trackball don't do much of anything; the crosshair practically stays in place, and sometimes even jumps in the opposite direction. Especially with sensitivity set Low.
The 3 volcano buttons are not light up? Are they not working or turn off?

I don't think they were lit up on the original one, just the 1 and 2 Player buttons were lit.

They are shipping all preorders from last year now. Once those are sent out they usually open it up for new customers

I honestly hate that 'faked out CRT' look. I just got mine and it just feels janky. I guess here's hoping they make it optional for future cabs.

It looks nice but I am done with New Wave Toys. They remove negative reviews on their website so they cannot be trusted. I and I know two other people left honest negative feedback on the Mini Blasters as it has a hissing noise when connecting via bluetooth and their FM antenna is atrocious so I could not use the functionality I had intended, making it just art. It was honest feedback and they remove it. It just feels dishonest to me so I do not give them my money.

I usually dislike products like this because they are cheap cash grabs. The buttons and trackball convince me this is different.
