    Just a suggestion for all y’all looking to put together a first aid kit. A roll of sterile gauze and a triangular bandage are some pretty crucial items I’ve noticed missing from a lot of first aid kits on yoyrube

    Brilliant. I'd add a mirror (you may have it in the first aid kit) and a bin liner.

    Great pouch for a survival kit! Looks like you could add a bandana or a small foldable map of your area into that kit.

    It's a good looking pouch. I really like the different zippered pockets. The D ring key lanyard seems over built and a bit big. But overall it looks like a good product.

    Love Malcolm's gear! Prices are more than fair for top quality hand made gear. The only problem I have, which isn't his fault, is that between the exchange rate, customs fees, and cost to ship it....it doubles the price of it...which puts it out of my price range here in Canada.

      You sold me as you always do:) One thing on Malcolm's website turned into several. Grrrrr. Good to know Ben. I have a Emberlit Ti stove in a Vanquest survival kit and I love having it there. I can take that small kit, with a Mountain House some make myself a meal anytime. I love the Gen2 Folding Ti Firebox Nano and would like that option. Appreciate the review.

    comment: those Bic lighters do leak but mainly burnt fingers...bad choice...find a lighter with a extended flame nozzle...there are many types that will give separation between the flint and ignition. also the possibility of the plastic breaking is high...there are far better lighters out there...perhaps more costly but a reliable fire source is worth the cost. also you should use the "3 Principal "method of "The Roaring Pica Company" from Colorado. 3 fire sources, three cutting sources and three water filtration sources, 3 use equipment,... etc. ...if you desire contact for them let me know and I will get you that info. The guy is very knowledgeable and experienced 55 years in the Rocky Mountains.

      some dollar stores sell telescoping back scratchers, slide off the handle ready to go, the back scratching end is good to rake the coals in your fire or a pot lifter, dont need to pay big bucks, just a buck.......

      dont know if you have ant dollar stores in your area, some of them sell telescoping back scratchers, the rubber handle slides off and your in business, you can also use the back scratching end to rake coals, or a pot lifter, i got about 7 or 8 of them at the low price of a buck it is versatile.

    The bear bowl will only work on a gas stow, I don't think the sides a fireproof, compare it with sea to summits x-bowls in silicone

    • @livingsurvival
      @livingsurvival  6 років тому +1

      Will work on any small stove, wood burning or gas.

      Thanks Flash but I'm Sorry the HAVERSACK is still shows to be "out of stock" ...... the "diddy bags" are fine =) I have been looking locally and everything is too small or too big or CHEAP CHINA JUNK with POOR material and seams / thread / zippers =( I'm sure his product is very good quality and most important "AMERICAN MADE" product =) I'm just want people learn to make AMERICAN ( self Reliance ) when they need to if things are not available; so the SKILL IS NOT LOST 8-) I'm not a PUREST just wanting to preserve creativity and skill somehow we have lost or gave away for someone else to do =(

    • @flashmanv3260
      @flashmanv3260 6 років тому +1

      @pat,.. oh sorry, this video review was really about the survival kit, not the haversack, so I thought that's what you were looking for, and that is in stock in three color choices. I hope you are able to get your hands on one.

    I have to say that those "nice" sacks and pouches cost more than my full kit with tarp, blanket, cooking kit, first aid, toolkit etc You get such prices when you shop army surplus, salvation army and others, and especially if you get old army stuff the quality is much better. But hey if I got them for free they are great.
