    Listen to this criticism of Exodus Decoded:
    "In Exodus Decoded, filmmaker Simcha Jacobovici suggested that Yaqub-Har was the Patriarch Jacob, on the basis of a signet ring found in the Hyksos capital Avaris that read "Yakov/Yakub" (from Yaqub-her), similar to the Hebrew name of the Biblical patriarch Jacob (Ya'aqov). Jacobovici ignores the fact that Yaqub-Har is a well-attested pharaoh of the Second Intermediate Period; and Yakov and its variants are common Semitic names from the period. Furthermore, Jacobovici provides no explanation as to why Joseph would have a signet ring with the name of his father Jacob."
    I think the biggest fault in Jacobovici's hypothesis is the last sentence ...

    re: the excerpt at the beginning - how can one be sure the yakub seals are related to biblical joseph? i understand they are dated between the 200-yr period in question but there is no direct evidence that the seals actually belonged to joseph. and why would the seal say yaqub if it was meant for joseph? Is there no historical evidences of yaqub-named citizenry in egypt at that time period? would seem it was a common name.. what of the other inscriptions found on the seals? do they make reference of the yaqub-joseph lineage link?

    Thnx Rab. You must check Simcha’s docus, since Pharaoh may be “AmMoshe” (kinda, meaning Moshe’s brother). And Simcha show us his mommy, it fits better the dates and a couple centuries after him, came the “monotheistic Pharaoh “ married with Nefertiti, his grandfather was semitic. They were “crypto jews” and didn’t helped some semitic king in Ysrael attacked by hebrews from the Desert when asked for Pharaoh help.

    Also, what does the Druze community have to say about the exodus in general and this new exodus discovery in particular? It seems to me that the descendents of the prophet Yitro, Moshe rabbeinu's father-in-law and the first convert to Torah Judaism, was instrumental in the freeing of the Hebrews from Egyptian slavery by assisting in the escape route. I conjecture that Moshe was told by Yitro and his clan about this escape route. Additionally, Moshe had likely traveled this area as a shephard and when he escaped from Paro as a young man so he knew the path.

      @@debrapaulino918 If you read the Torah, you know Moses was denied entry to the Promised Land for doing this. Numbers 20:11-12 "Moses raised his hand and struck the rock with his staff twice, when an abundance of water gushed forth, and the congregation and their livestock drank. The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, "Since you did not have faith in Me to sanctify Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly to the Land which I have given them." Creating a false narrative that is not in the Holy Torah is idolatry. I invite you to do teshuvah, repent your wicked ways, immerse yourself in the Torah, and turn away from idolatry back to the light of HaShem. 🙏

  • @Mavors1099
    @Mavors1099 2 роки тому +3

    Those seals have the name of Meruserre Yaqub-Har, a Pharaoh from the XVIII century BC, not the name of the biblical Jacob.
    And the most astonishing issue is that your source is the documental Exodus Decoded by Simcha Jacobovici, the same discredited documental that claims that the plagues of Egypt were caused by a volcanic eruption, do you agree with that? The same director that made another documentary claiming that he found the lost tomb of Jesus with his bones inside… Do you agree with that?

      Thanks for the feedback. Historians don't know for sure who the Yaqub-Har seals belonged to. They have been dated to somewhere around the 15th or 14th dynasties. It is thought he may have been a Pharaoh, or a Hyksos ruler, or even a Canaanite vassal of some sort. So, I think it is very possible the seals could have something to do with the Biblical Jacob.
      Simcha Jacobovici has done some interesting work, most of which I personally do disagree with. However, that doesn't mean that every single thing he says is false!

    There is ton of evidence that contradicts the Torah. The Hyksos being the Hebrews in Kemet is not convincing. The Hyksos were Amorites or "Shepherd Kings". So are you admitting the Hebrews were Amorites and not descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob? Or, is it like what Professor Daniel Bodi has stated and are the Torah stories old Amorite stories that came to Canaan? Oh, by the way, the Aramaens were also the descendants of the Amorites.

    Wait. Is it important that these things academically happened. What about sacred divine inspired writings that communicate and encode the soul of a people, their families, their history in a memorable format with divine instruction for each individual, the characters being actual living spiritual principles that play out thru history and in each individual. IMO give up the need for literal academic evidence for inspired writings that cover all people and all history and each individual. Academic objective historical research is a modern phenomena and encoding a peoples historical and spiritual journey for each individual was an ancient phenomena. Context of content. When you see an inspired movie we don't discuss day and night "how" the movie was made, the living characters etc while we are watching the movie nor should we while learning a sacred history. There is a time for watching and there is a time for composing. imo but..im a follower of Yeshua so I don't speak with authority on this. imo with the explosion and importance put upon academics, we must learn the difference and learn and teach the value of scripture...as scripture and the truth will set us free. Scripture is revealed in the divine inspiration to the prophet of his/her cultural sacred history from the divine....and the divine uses the mind , knowledge and ability of the human to do it. Its "trueness" is not academic.

Hammurabi laws are copied almost word for word. creation myths, horus not eating pork because of set, el is a name of a canaanite deity. many hebrew artifacts pulled out from the earth are clay images of baal, yahu, ashorah, many idols...we have remains of the inca, the maya, the egyptians, the babylonians, the assryians, the greeks. we dont have any definitive remains of david or shlomo. not like the remains of other nations. most remains are from herod the edomite. אמת מארץ תצמח וצדק משמים נשקף
