I remember seeing one of your videos a couple months back and I was just blown away of the quality of your videos. After getting back into biking last spring and having 5 different Mt bikes and this flat bar road bike I have. I finally got my 1st real road bike from a good bike shop. I bought myself the specialized allez. You have been my number one inspiration for getting a road bike. And I love the bike! So thank you for these videos that inspired the hell out of me ☺🤘
Speaking of traffic, the one turn on this course that always makes me nervous watching these videos is the one where you’re coming up on those condos/houses/whatever and go screaming through the red light. It doesn’t look like there’s a ton of visibility to the left thanks to some shrubs and trees but I dunno how much of that is just GoPro effect.
There is great visibility and almost no traffic in that turn into the residential neighborhood. We have a protocol of calling out a hazard and neutralizing here if it is required.
Haha, we have a couple of training races by me in parks with a circuit roadway. The cars holding up the head of the race has saved me more than it has ruined me :-D
I haven't seen one of your videos in a couple months. You've definitely gotten stronger! It's great seeing that, good luck with the season when it starts up again.
In the end yes, but that's bc he's not a field sprinter and he did the right thing by playing his card throughout the race, forced some really hard efforts that may have worked without an organized chase
@@NorCalCycling Take it easy now. I prefer the break but my numbers are coming back up and I have taken my fair share of bunch sprints. Don't make me send you the photo archive.
Thanks for the awesome vids as usual. One thing, the spoilers in some of the videos, like a picture of you on the podium in the starting picture for the video, kinda ruin it for me. Generally speaking, if I know the result I dont tend to watch the race. I'm sure a few other people would do the same too. Great video again though.
Hey Jeff, what if you don’t know the degree of fitness that your competition possesses? How then do you assess when or when not to use a match. What kinds of factors do you look at in order to determine “okay I’ll chase this, or okay I’ll leave this be and save myself for another round”?
So are you going to or already started doing Zwift races? I know you have a backlog of content already but i think it would be interesting to get your racing perspective on Zwift...since we are all pretty much stuck inside now! lol
in the book of matches idea... have you ever tried using the Xert MPA app on garmin? i think it's amazing.. but i have yet to try it in a race.. so I have no idea if it is a good idea or not.
I'm curious about the decision at 4:45. Wouldn't FSB want big Tuna to win the race so it shouldn't matter if the FSB guy went up to join the break? In the end they'd want to get BT to the line first, right?
The team first, always! If the guy who is wearing it gets to keep it that is fantastic but the team has the obligation to cover every move and ensure that the jersey stays with the team.
Looks like you had plenty of space to go on the inside of that truck. Had you arrived as a pack then I would have definitely slowed down and waited like you did, but since you were all alone there wasn't too much danger IMO
Maybe you are right, but he would have had to slow down significantly and probably woulda lost have half of his gap in the process. Not worth the (even little) risk, especially not for a sprinter like Jeff who doesn't really want to go for a 14km solo anyway.
Since you race and ride so much, can you suggest what brand of jerseys to use, esp that don't bunch up at the zippers when you're in riding position. Or do you always wear full skin suits?
speedsuits are my choice, they are like a jersey stitched to bibs in the back, like a skinsuit and jersey/bib 50/50. Team sponsor is Capo, they make great stuff.
Ahh, that's perfect. I think all of us new racers spend a lot of money on trial and error and dont find things that work till a few years in, be that attire, equipment, wheels, etc. Thank you. I look forward to more and we continue to do social rides always aware where' we're dropping snot rockets.
Oh Lord Jeff, you're facing sooo much trouble in the future. If there's one thing mother Russia has taught the world, it's this : YOU DO NOT MESS with the FSB !
It looked like you were out of position a lot during the race and missed free wheels. Is this because you had no team mates to cover attacks? Also, dare I say it, have you considered racing on zwift? 🥱🙊😂
Yea we need your vids to maintain a sense of normalcy in these troubling times
This and Lantern rogue
0:35 that paint is beautiful
The bike ain't too bad either!
good catch, did not notice the first time :D
14k AUD bike. I've seen it in person, it is gorgeous.
those power numbers at the end, sick. nice work!
Yeah, he was holding these 1400+/1300+ very long, even for his standards. Probably had even more in the tank...
No kidding!!
Your commentary are just the best on UA-cam. Period. Thank you Sir !
Yay! Alviso is back! Thanks for uploading these. A playlist of these make for some fun times on the trainer when the weather is bad. :)
Keep em coming Jeff. Thanks.

That rainbow glitter trek madone is sooooo sick.
watching the season get postponed... really touched my soul
Thank you for posting this! It really is a nice help to shake the corona blues and see some in depth racing now that we can’t do it!
Serious wattage at the end there. Nice! Love the videos, hope you have some backlog to keep us all motivated.
What a sprint.. after all those efforts bringing back the breakways you still have that awesome effort to win!
That race looked like a ton of fun. A well deserved win.
Oh thank heavens that thumbnail gave me a damn heart attack lmao. Fair play for respecting the truck!
Great video & sick finish. 1400+ watts after a few 400-600 watt efforts is solid

Christopher Fortuna yeah I figured you guys weren’t going to just be flinging yourselves into the sides of cars, just looks scary on video.
Love you videos! They are like a daily cup of coffee !! Just gotta have it !! Lol!! Take care over there!
Super smart racing! Pretty sick to watch again! Stay safe too!
I love your videos, especially after a stressful day! Thanks you!

Would you mind taking us through your training routine?
Thanks for all your hard work!
Be safe my dude. Mad respect.
Will definitely be needing the back log of videos to keep me entertained!!!
Thank you for the great commentary as always

Very nice finish with powers ... stay safe dude
man i love your stuff and hopefully you'll sweeten my corona-off-work-time back here in germany with lots of more great content :D
Great efforts. Great positioning. Great finish. Thx for sharing!!! 😎🤙🏾
I wish I could have you @jeff coach me in my crits you seem too always make a reasonable good decision at the right time.
Keep the videos coming 👍🏻

how nice of chris to lead you out.
Thank you for your awesome videos
THANKS NORCAL!
That truck parked there looks incredibly dangerous!
Entertain me! Trainer time needs more NorCal Cycling!

Come to Austin Texas and Race Driveway Crits. When this Corona virus goes away.
I've seen Tolley post driveways I want to visit for sure

Nice sprint....👏👏
What is the address of this Alviso place. Sounds like a great place to practice my skills and ride.
Most of the country is out there riding. Not racing but out on the road.
So are we gonna get Zwift crit breakdowns now?
Nice sprint at the end! : )

A team win is a win, and they wouldn't chase their own teammate
@@NorCalCycling ah okay. So how do they decide who on their team wears the jersey?
the one who crosses the finish line first

4:09 the dude on the right, is that a Chinese open mold Frame?
S-Works Tarmac SL5!

I can think of a few people I know who would have gone for it.
nice sprint!
in Italy you're not allowed to ride the bike outside in these days
the only solution is building a private velodrome in your own backyard
Walter White and Jess Pinkman hanging at Alviso at 3:28
This outro made me laugh so hard - good for my lungs!
The TrainerRoad logo?
You’ve probably been asked a lot... but what program do you use to sync up the ride data with the GoPro footage?
I made a video about this topic check out my channel
Keep me entertained. I need the pleasant distraction from all the chaos around me.

2:04 is that a 28c tire ??
Rasheik Bailey Probably 30c
28 is the new 25
You should setup an Alviso Zwift ride!
Start a petition to include a new world/route on ZWIFT "Alviso Crit"
Can you film new bike check
What’s your average power and FTP?
About 350 maybe more if I'm fit maybe less if I'm not
Uh aren’t the roads closed off?
I chase that down, sounds so easy... but it isn’t 😅
Yay old recorded vids for content EHEHHEHEHE upload more pleasw
the one downvote had to be the driver
Chris Witek or Big Tuna
1k watts for 14 seconds wHaT
Im happy when i get a sprint of 45km/h but om new to racebike. Been driving now for 1month. When you take a sprint you get almost 70km/h Jezus crist 🤣
how come you are not in the leader's jersey? everytime you post an alviso crit, you win it
I don't win all of them, my last alviso vid I lost
@@NorCalCycling does not win all of them. Where are the emojis when you need them?
What are you going to do with all that fitness? Zwift races?
It's still not a race 😉😄
Lol I remember that guy
I'm sorry but i would have dove the fuck out of that truck. lol
So tempting
