I have an alternative solution to the first riddle. All of the numbers in the sign and counter-sign, when taken together, make a multiple of 9: 126, 63, 54. The first spy would give the counter-sign 8 to make 108, and the second spy would give the counter-sign 6 to make 36.
Or you could simplify that. The numbers presented all add up to 9. The first one, 6 and 3 (6+3). The second one, 12 and 6 (1+2+6). The fourth one, 5 and 4 (5+4)... with the third one being incorrect for 10 and 5 (1+0+5). So an alternative answer to the last one could have been 6 (3+6).
Yeah I had the same but by adding them. 6+3=9, 12+6=18=9x2 5+4=9 so i thought the first spy should've said 8 and the second 6. Its cool that if u add the digits of numbers divisible by 9 you get a number divisible by 9.
1st time: 6+3 = 9. 2nd time: 12 + 6: add the digits 1+2+6 = 9. 3rd time: 5+4 = 9. Therefore, on the basis of the first 3 sets of clues, you could add the digits in the guard's sign then the answer would be whatever is required to make a total of 9.
For the second riddle i followed another approach: 43-8= 35, 38-9=29, 34-11 =23 so we have 35 29 23 (decreasing by the number 6 each time) so the next value is 17. Thus x-14 =17 => x=31
That's because it's a bad riddle. There are multiple different potential patterns that could be the answer, just look in the comments for some of the other possibilities. The solution given is pretty much just one picked at random. It's like asking "What flower has a pleasant smell?" "A rose." "Wrong, it's a lilac."
@@mcunited6902 The first riddle isn't harder, the answer is just arbitrary. I showed this riddle to 3 friends and it took them 5 mins to come up with 2 additional simple answers to my initial 2 ... and given some time almost a dozen working solutions in total. It's not harder than other riddles, it's designed worse.
Christopher Rowe has it exactly right. The third riddle is an example of a good riddle (although it is mind-numbingly easy) because the answer is singular and the riddle is trying to mask the logical pattern that leads to it. The first one it a good example of 99% of riddles out there; a random pick from a multitude of viable answers. For example, if the code was based on the challenge number being even and a multiple of 3 then half it, otherwise add 1, the correct answer would be 4 and it would fit all the clues. That's just one of dozens of patterns that those clues lead to.
Great video! For the first one, the answer could have been 6 (similar to another comment). As they were always creating multiples of 9, guard said 12, response was 6, put those numbers together and you have 126. 126 is a multiple of 9. The second number the the guard said was 6, and the answer was 3. Put 6 and 3 together and you have 63, a multiple of 9. Third guard number was 5, and the correct answer was 4. Those two numbers but together equal 54, again a multiple of 9. Therefor if the guard says 3, the answer could be 6, as the number 3 and 6 put together is 36, a multiple of 9. Both answers 3 and six make logical sense depending on how you think it out.
What about 10 and 3? The gaurd asked the spy 10. The spy replied with 5 and was captured. Apparently the correct answer should have been 3... 103 is not a multiple of 9.
60sec difference between the first and last bullet. It doesn't say that the intervals between bullets should be equal. So, he should be able to shoot 5 bullets in like 2 seconds, and wait for 58secs for the last bullet to be accurate.
Love all the riddles, don't love the video titles lol. Wish there were more videos though love the videos and the cartoons and all that! It's fantastic
The first one really is impossible to know for sure. There are plenty of ways that you could generate the same response numbers. Without more examples, it would be a complete guess. The second one was a much easier pattern. And your nines still look like g's. The last one could be yes just because of the wording. It doesn't say that he needs to shoot the bullets at any particular interval. He may be able to shoot 5 in a row quickly, for example, and need much more time to get the last one to maintain perfect accuracy and do it in 60 seconds.
Another rule that satisfies all correct answers for the first riddle is "The countersign is the lowest number that when added to the sign results in a number divisible by 9".
First one has more valid solutions. I came up with the following: Sign 6 Countersign 3 because 6+3 equals 9 Sign 12 Countersign 6 because 1+2+6 equals 9 Sign 10 Countersign 5 is wrong maybe 8 is better because 1+0+8 equals 9 Sign 5 Countersign 4 because 5+4 equals 9 So on 3 I would have guessed 6 and would have been shot. :-(
I got the 2nd one correct but i over thought the other two especially the first i was thinking about maybe the answer has to do with what the duplicates are and i got into stuff like square routes tying to find a similarity between the numbers that which the answer was half of it and i couldn’t help but notice that 6 and 12 can are both duplicates of 3 and now im just over doing things again
i did the second one by thinking all numbers as this: 43(-35) = 8 (+30)= 38(-29)=9(+25)=34(-23)=11, so when it subtracts the subtrahend starts at 35 and goes down by 6 from the previous subtraction, and in addition the number starts at 30 and goes down by 5 from the previous sum, so the next should be "11+20 = 31"
I think you missed the point of the riddle. The word "Three" has five letters in it, therefore the answer is five. Six is only correct for that one if you're misspelling the word "Three."
First riddle is also possible that you have to add up the single numbers in the digit the guard says. After that you subtract this number from 9 and you have the code: 6 sum=6 code = 9 - 6 = 3 12 sum=3 code = 9 - 3 = 6 10 sum=1 code = 9 - 1 = 8 (not 5, not 3) 5 sum=5 code = 9 - 5 = 4 3 sum=3 code = 9 - 3 = 6 Third riddle I agree with the 12 seconds per gun shot (shots at: 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72). The shots only get fired after 12 seconds because he has to aim, pulling the trigger and the shot fires. As you can see in the sequence it takes 36 seconds to shoot 3 robbers ! The time between the first and the 3rd shot is 24 seconds, but the first shot also takes 12 seconds. So I disagree on this one.
Got all 3. The last one is poorly phrased, which will allow people to cheat as it were (as it did me). The instructions state "His skills allow him to shoot all 6 bullets with an interval of the first bullet to the last bullet." As such, he could shoot 5 bullets in one second, then wait 59 seconds to shoot the last one. To correct this, you should say "Jack can shoot all his bullets over the span of one minute, with 100% accuracy and an equal interval of time between shots."
First riddle: The amount required to get to the next multiple of 9 is also a plausible answer given all the clues. Any riddle such as this should have one and only one possible valid answer. I got the second, but it was hardly a ‘riddle’. Just an awful way of leaving a clue. Third was obvious.
Assuming the subtraction series based of 1 substraction in the second sequence of the second puzzle is plainout wrong. That would be the same as saying the sequence 3-12 is given, so the next number is 21 (without considering 48 for example).
1. My first answer would be 2. My reasoning behind that is - if the number can’t be shown by fingers on one hand, you divide by two. But if the number can be shown by the fingers of one hand the answer is, the number shown - 1.
in the third Riddle, it is true that the shot is made instantly, but since it is with 100% accuracy, he needs time to aim, thats why i thought he will need 10 seconds to aim and then shoot. That is my opinion :D it is impossible to insta shoot and have 100% accuracy, and aiming requires some time. Even if the gunholder is the best shooter
The answer to the first one is obvious; the guard gives a value of x and you have to tell him the value of y such that y=(3x^2 - 47x +216)/14 So x=12 means y=6, x=6 means y=3, and x=5 means y=4. So the answer to x=3 is y=7.2857 Obviously.
Second riddle's serie could also go as followed : (43-3)/5=8 (38-2)/4=9 (34-1)/3=11 Let x be the missing number : (x-0)/2 would be the answer ( if the series keeps going ) then, if 14 to (x-0)/2 then 28 would be x as 14*2=(x+0) = 28
the second "riddle" is flawed. 28 could also be an answer, resulting from 5*8+3=43, 4*9+2=38, 3*11+1=34, thus 2*14+0=28... I am sure there are more solutions to this...
The number series never have an absolute answer it always depends upon the logics you are applying if they follow a particular pattern and their are two answers then they both are right.
03:35 i did it a lil different haha. 43-35=8 ; 8+30=38 ; 38-29=9 and 9 +25=34. So its always first - and then +. The minus starts with a 35 then a 29 and then a 23, so i figured the next must be 17 since we are always going down by 6. Which made me add 17 to 14, coming to 31. And to make sure: the + goes by 30 then 25 which leads to 20, if im going with 5 number steps. So 11+20 is also 31. Issa bit more complicated but im glad i did it hahahh

First one has more valid solutions. I came up with the following:
Sign 6 Countersign 3 because 6+3 equals 9
Sign 12 Countersign 6 because 1+2+6 equals 9
Sign 10 Countersign 5 is wrong maybe 8 is better because 1+0+8 equals 9
Sign 5 Countersign 4 because 5+4 equals 9
So on 3 I would have guessed 6 and would have been shot. :-(
That was the obvious solution. Clearly it was baited.
Luckily the guard does not actually shoot the spy. You would live, though you would be captured :)
I did answer the same, though.
another answer is:
if the sign is an even number "divide by 2" , and if its an odd number "minus 1"
6(even) /2 = 3
12(even)/2 = 6
5(odd) - 1 =4

First riddle is also possible that you have to add up the single numbers in the digit the guard says. After that you subtract this number from 9 and you have the code:
6 sum=6 code = 9 - 6 = 3
12 sum=3 code = 9 - 3 = 6
10 sum=1 code = 9 - 1 = 8 (not 5, not 3)
5 sum=5 code = 9 - 5 = 4
3 sum=3 code = 9 - 3 = 6
Third riddle I agree with the 12 seconds per gun shot (shots at: 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72).

The answer to the first one is obvious; the guard gives a value of x and you have to tell him the value of y such that y=(3x^2 - 47x +216)/14
So x=12 means y=6, x=6 means y=3, and x=5 means y=4. So the answer to x=3 is y=7.2857
Obviously.

5 percent of me got them all right!
I found an alternative solution for the spy riddle. I would have added a number, so that the sum can be divided by 9. 6+3 =9, 12+6=18, 5+4=9
Second riddle's serie could also go as followed :
(43-3)/5=8
(38-2)/4=9
(34-1)/3=11
Let x be the missing number : (x-0)/2 would be the answer ( if the series keeps going )
then, if 14 to (x-0)/2 then 28 would be x as 14*2=(x+0) = 28
I don't want to brag but those were quite easy.
the second "riddle" is flawed. 28 could also be an answer, resulting from 5*8+3=43, 4*9+2=38, 3*11+1=34, thus 2*14+0=28... I am sure there are more solutions to this...
yep I had exactly the same idea! :D
The number series never have an absolute answer it always depends upon the logics you are applying if they follow a particular pattern and their are two answers then they both are right.

Issa bit more complicated but im glad i did it hahahh
it is so easy
😀😀
I missed the first two but the last one was super easy
